mine was also delayed for the same time. It makes me mad that they didn't do express shipping because now it will be exactly one month to my order date to receiving it.
Make sure you collect your 100$ credit because i literally had to call for the credit transaction to show up.
What you could do is also say that your returning this laptop because a month wait is unacceptable. Then they'll go crazy and try to do anything (almost, don't go too far with your bluff) to make you keep it. Ask for a slice battery in return.
-
They won't credit you an actual product like the slice (I've tried it) but they will give you $150 like it ain't no thang if you say the "C" word. (cancel)
-
Well, if there is no delay. I wont be bother too, however, given that this laptop has been delayed for almost a month. That makes me not happy
-
What was their decision? Did you get the battery or like the guy below you said, 150?
-
well i got 200$ cash back, but ive seen others get the slice and even an ssd.
The only reason why he got the ssd was because they canceled his radiance order and he stacked a 500$ coupon and a 300$ coupon that they provided him. -
I got 10% from the subtotal. Should I bargain for more money back?
-
Its always worth a try. And i really don't think 100$ cash back is not enough because you could have easily canceled the order, gotten a different brand for a lower price, and it would have been at your door before theirs was even built.
That was my argument at least. -
Which phone number should I call? I want to make sure I reach the right department that can ACTUALLY help me. Not some random people that keeps saying, we already tried out best, nothing we can do..... It is their FAULT!

One question: Do you guys have light for the HP logo on the lid? (HP ENVY BEATS 14)
-
No, it doesn't light up. I still looks nice though
-
For the old version, it was aluminum. But the new envy beats 14 uses the plastic one which, is the same as other series that can light up. Anyway, it does still looks good. thanks!
-
Im ordering the E14 now, with standard shipping. Ive read many people replies that they have received their laptop in the mail even before the build date, dose anyone know if this is a common this? And how long it might take?
Im a bit nervous about dropping this amount of cash, I hope its be worth it, and my computer wont look like it got ran over on the way to me. :I -
its pretty common, but HP has had a lot of orders in the past weeks so I wouldnt expect an early delivery considering how busy they are..you can buy the quick-ship models also if you dont want to config
-
both i ordered arrived 1 day before estimated build date.
-
Both of mine came a week early. One took 7 days the other took 10. Go for it man its worth every penny. Check out the hp BUSINESS resale outlet for a refurbed one (most are just cancellations) and you can get a good price. Good luck. Hope you jump on-board the envy train
-
whered all the coupons go???
there were $300, $400, $500 every week since black friday, but now i havent seen any since the radiance display option expired 2 weeks ago
-
i think there was a $200 coupon last week
-
MY order is currently in production and has been all day. I ordered the basic/starter config on the 3rd so im hoping it will ship tomorrow
-
Good luck with that. Mine has said "in production" since the moment I ordered it and still has the original ship estimate even after two delays. The order status page is pretty much useless.
I ordered mine the 11th of Jan and it's still nowhere to be seen. Delayed twice, current build "estimate" is Feb 11th. Got the 15% coupon first then 10% off the price of the laptop with the second delay.
Spent over an hour on the phone with HP cust service trying to get them to just say if there was a chance it would be delayed past the 11th but they were impossible. The woman I talked to gave me the "youre already talking to a supervisor" line BS. To make a long story short, customer service has the same information you can access and they email you... a date estimate from the factory. They have no idea why something is delayed, if it actually exists or if it will be delayed again, etc. HP customer service has no communication with their factory. The woman on the phone told me she would email the factory trying to figure out "what is going on with these laptops" and she would then email me, but that was a week ago now. Pretty much just told me that to get me off the phone.
This is ridiculous. -
Lol dude I think I talked to the same person. I just called them 45 min ago. Gave me 10% off laptop and 15% off next purchase. Told me the build date is feb 15. Reallyy ridiculous. She kept saying ohh I see you got $500 off already. I'm like well I guess I didnt read the fine print where it says you can totally screw me over if you use the coupon. My time is worth way more than their measly 10% I cant understand how they can take an order for something and give a build date without the parts in hand.
I've lost all confidence in HP's ability to handle anything. I never even got an email or status update on my order. I had to keep calling them to see whats up.
Everything they tell you is a complete lie. -
So, I'm waiting for my to finish being built, which is intersting, as I just got the basic set up(Couldn't pass up that two year warranty that comes with the custom build) Its been in the "Order in production" phase for a few days now, so I'm a little worried I'm in the same boat s @mattmed. However, I'm heartened by all of you saying your got yours before your build date.
Can I ask, did the website tell you it was still being built when you got it? -
Bah; none of this isn't making me feel any better. :I lmao
I keep checking the Order status page a few times everyday (because 'I do not trust they will email me updates') and its been "in production" for 3-4 days now. And it really dose confuse me; since apparently HP has them pre-built lying around, and when someone orders one, they find a matching one in the warehouse and ships it out. So im trying to stay optimistic and say they have to build it....but...the default base build should be set up already...no? I guess alot of people want the base build all at the same time :I I say to myself; 'ill just cancel it, get my money back and buy one in store' ...but the fact of the matter is all the ones in stores like best buy....suck compared to the envy :/ Guess I just have to wait *sigh*+
Do you think if I wait a week longer and there is no change; I can call and get an additional 10% off? (I already got 10% off with student discount) :O -
Night Racer, I've built a laptop, soup to nuts. A two day build(From nothing to full install) makes sense, hell, three days if they are different departments and it has to move between them. I'm in the same boat, so don't loose hope!
-
you guys should be ok, at least you are not caught in a cancelling mess like the radiance 2 weeks ago
-
guys, youre forgetting its chinese new year right now...which is a two week holiday in china. not saying its gonna take that long, but dont expect much from HP.
why they offered all these custom builds right before the biggest holiday in china is beyond me. keep bugging them, maybe they'll give you guys some more 10% off deals. -
Its a two week holiday, but not a complete work holiday. Plus, who says that it's being built in china?
-
Knowledge is power my man. They are all shipped from the Chinese plant in shanghai.
-
Yes it's a Chinese holiday and that's cool with me. If HP wasn't so incompetent and didn't have zombie customer service representatives that do nothing but parrot back the same things I wouldn't be as mad.
-
Even better. They'll be working then, if my old room mate is any one to trust.(Use to live in shanghai)
-
My 'Order Status' page still lists 2/2 as the ship date. I e-mailed HP and recieved two responses indicating that the new expected ship date was +10 biz days from the original - 2/16
I also recieved a 'coupon code' for 15% of any purchase before April 2011, but would prefer the 10% off the existing order if possible since I'm really not in a spend to save frame of mind.
I suppose the good news is that I haven't recieved a cancellation notice - so presumably, my Radiance configured machine is still to be built and shipped.
I did want to know... How many delays did you experience before HP offered you the 10% discount on the order?; I've 'technically' only recieved 1-delay, but at this point they're shipping almost 30-days after my order was placed. -
you could try selling that 15% off coupon on eBay..ive heard people saying they sold it for $70+
-
As of end of business today, I'm still "In production".
-
For those of you that have had their orders delayed from 2-1 to 2-15 what do you plan on doing if they decide to delay it again? I'm getting the feeling that HP doesn't even care if you cancel the order after they already gave you a 10% discount. The lady I talked to said 10% is the highest they can go.
-
I share Pez's concern. Almost every interaction I've had w/ HP since placing my order, they've seemed all-too-willing to help me cancel. I'm really anticipating this hardware, but don't know how much patience I have if they can't ship it within 30-days of my order.
The 16th is what I've been told in terms of an updated shipping date. If things push much beyond that, I may elect to discontinue business w/ HP and admit that straying from Lenovo was a poor decision.
Apparently they're releasing some new Edge Models w/ i7s. Not thrilled w/ the 'display' options, though. A KEY element in my decision to order the Envy14 was the Radiance display. If I can't have it in a semi-timely fashion? -- I might have to admit defeat and go elsewhere.
I really hope HP can deliver... for all of us. -
So, all of you who are having issues ordered the Radiance display? Really. Interesting. I didn't. Perhaps that will save me from your fate.
-
What makes this so much worse is that they don't let you change your order configuration without losing the radiance display. If we were at least notified before the 2-1 build date I would have been more than willing to change my i7 to an i5. It can't be that difficult to swap a motherboard. They keep saying that if you change 1 thing the entire computer has to be rebuilt. That doesn't make sense to me at all considering that the only thing thats being changed is a mobo/cpu/graphics card which is usually just attached together as a single piece. It's not like it's all put together yet because if it was then it would be shipped already and they wouldn't be having supply shortages.
-
This is my second envy purchase, I ordered mine off of a retailer and my wife loved it so much I ordered her one off hp with the 500 off coupon. The expected ship date was Feb 2nd, we called in and they said check back in 48 hours. I'm not holding my breathe waiting. I would ask for 10% off but I used a 500 coupon. They did ship me a 15% off coupon, but what the hell am I going to use that on?
-
Yep. Still waiting.
-
It doesnt work that way. All the laptops get shipped from shangai so once they have an order they make it and they cannot change anything unless they get a new order, that is, you place a new order.
I ordered mine on jan 15th and my config is i5 WITHOUT radiance and it was supposed to ship on 1st Feb but it still shows "In Production". I got an email for 15% off but I will call them to ask for 10% or preferably 3 year extension warranty if its possible. -
Honestly, I like the new HP ENVY BEAT 14 except 2 things. I think the silver design around the laptop is just not that good looking and the paint will drop off time after time. The other thing is the noise of the FAN is crazy. It is loud even I was just surfing online. Crazy...
-
Still in production. Doodeedoo.
-
I disagree with you. I think the strip looks fantastic on black beats. The charcoal titanium (made that up) goes amazingly well with the beat's black paint. It's the best looking computer there is. I wish the beats logo was removable but it's not that bad. I dropped mine on 2 occasions and scraped it on concrete accidentally (my heart quit beating) and it didn't scuff up like it really should have. As for the fan, sounds like you may have had defective device because i can't ever hear my fan and i use it mostly in a very quiet classroom.
-
Nope. I ordered mine on Jan 11th, i7 beats edition without the Radiance display. Still "in production". Second delay email said it'll ship out this friday (11th) so we shall see.... Still no update/email from HP after my long phone chat last week.
-
Great, fill me with dread.
-
Anyone know if they offer these 10% discounts if you ordered with a student discount? Because none of the coupons are eligible if you used the student discount. I am just waiting for the next big coupon to come up to order my new Beats Edition.
-
I ordered Jan 17 with i7 envy 14 with expected build of Feb 2 got delayed on feb 6th until feb 16th due to hardware shortages im thinking its the i7
-
Seeing as all i7 cores have been delayed so they can be checked for flaws, its likely.
-
What flaws?
-
some i7s have bad heat issues, and some are just weak like 50s wprime when it should be 14s
