I dont think so. They were pretty firm on 10%.

btw, anyone know how do you order ssd/slice seperately?

You have to talk with the resolution center and tell them the situation, saying how much you would gain if you reorder, then they give a max discount of 10%

edit: the $100 would be around 10% anyways, I would take it.

I don't think that quick cashback works with HP because of the 21 day return policy. Bing doesn't want people just ordering, getting their cashback, and then returning the product.

Do you have any evidence to back up your statement?

As I have never had issues with bing.com and using a different e-mail on the account I used to purchase from a store.

Also as long as HPA discount wasn't applied to the order, bing.com will not reject the order, as they will have no way to see that it is a "student account".

I called back to another rep and told her the situation, she offered me 90 on the first try, so I'm thinking maybe I can push it to 10%, it's only a few more dollars, but still...

Actually, I signed into the HP site with Bing and it overrode my academic discount - possibly because I'd "purchased" two machines with the discount, even though one of them was declined for no verifiable reason.

I went ahead and reordered - the rep simply said that the current BCB was too high to match and didn't offer any further discounts (though she might have if I had asked). I'm happy, though - counting taxes, I paid a little less for my new config with a 160GB SSD than for the original one with 320GB HDD, and I got 2-day shipping so it'll arrive before I head back to China *crosses fingers*. All in all, I'm happy as a clam to wait an extra couple weeks for a free SSD.

Hello, I am a long time reader and first time poster.
I just made a purchase using bing cashback 30%, but I decided to cancel it and reorder it paying with paypal to take advantage of the quick cashback. Can anyone confirm how long does it take for quick cashback to give you the money? Or if quick cashback even works with Hp? Although I was offered $100 off(Instead of canceling the order) + the 30% bing cashback of ($485), I still denied it and wanted to cancel... I don't think I can wait 60 days in order to redeem the cashback... If something goes wrong and the cashback is denied after the 21 day return policy, I am screwed lol with a bill of $1700+

So, how does this 30% deal work out for those of us residing overseas? Would it work through a mail forwarding service, or would I have to have a buddy order it and send it over?

Dam I called HP and the lady didn't want to offer more than $20 because she said I already had 100 dollars off when I called and wanted to downgrade my CPU. She said she can't give more than 10% off a laptop on top, so she sent me return label. Has anyone had success with getting 10% off with the additional $100 bucks off?

I might have to just reorder.

Ok i had a very interesting call will HP after i saw the 30% Bing cashback. So i called to see if they could do a price match of the 30% and give an extra $367 which is 30% of my order. At that time i also had a student discount of 10% and what i thought was $142.50 discount from calling in about complaints but i will get back to that later. Because the sales reps can only max out at $100 he transferred me to a supervisor at the resolution center that he caught up on the situation. She said that she could not do this because HP will only let them give a discounted total of $200 (that is the total not just for an individual discount so if you think that you got more than $200 in discounts, you didn't they wont let you) she said that on top of my student discount that i also received $82.50 so i can only offer you $117.50 to total $200. I said that i should have a total of $142.50 in discount and she said that she only has record of $82.50, so i asked " so what you are telling me is that when the sales reps told me that they were processing my discount they just said they were and didn't do it" and she replied it looks to be that way. So i would not trust that they did in fact give you a discount and some people might get a rude awakening 5 days after they get there Envy. So since i would be saving more money with bing because i can still call in to get more discounts on top of bing and that with 30% off a SSD sounds much more reasonable i decided to cancel. I asked if i could get 2 day shipping for free and she said that when i order just check the 2 day shipping and i just need to call in after i order and the sale reps will have a note that i was promised 2 day shipping for free (i also get 30% of that shipping cashback so a couple extra bucks on top of free 2 day shipping too) I also ordered a mouse that i have already received and she said that i don't need to return i can just keep it as a gift. so all in all im a frustrated that i have to wait longer now but im happy i get to save more money, if only they could have just stacked my 10% student, $142.50 discount and the extra $367 on top of that and i would be ecstatic but she said its not possible with the rules that they give them, HP would be losing money on my order HAHA. Hope this helps someone

Also does fatwallet stack with bing?

Lol ok, I ended up taking the 100 dollar discount they offered for me to not cancel the laptop (since it's already in transit). Add that to the student discount of 117.5 (before tax), I'm saving 227.5 dollars... that's not too bad I guess. Plus these are instant discounts, so I don't have to wait for the 60 days cashback period.

Like I already said, I am fairly certain that quick cashback does not work with HP

Ok, I went through the process using bing and paypal with quick cash back and it has just showed up as pending, so I think it's all set. I decided to not use the Bill Me Later option for an additional $100 off because I was concerned it would invalidate BCB, not worth the risk.

Got i5-520M, 320GB HDD, 4GB two stick config. I expect to replace the drive with a better priced SSD in a year to a year and a half, I figure it is worth waiting on the RAM too, assuming I would ever need more than 4GB anyway.

Good deal! Brand new tech and $375.00 discount, glad I waited a little.

Hahah, i wish i could wait :p! Why Melbourne? its a great city and all, but kinda....out of the way from the states :p

There is no Tax, the agent is Oregon and the 5-7 day shipping should be fine :p Thanks for the confirmation :)

Someone just said something that made me squirm. To claim the Bing cashback you need to have the item is that correct?

So if this order is made tomorrow, the laptop would need to ship and arrive in the US before the 30th July in order to claim the cash back? Or will bing honour purchases made before this time if the product arrives after the deadline?

Your BCB should be $461.70. Beyond that, don't push it, you're being given an amazing deal already...

Generally yes, but the quick cash back probably won't work with HP. You'll still get cash back, you'll just have to wait.

They might. Any modification to the order risks void of BCB. Microsoft has noted that they will continue support after they discontinue the program at the end of July, but I doubt they will spend much efforts to resolve issues*. That's why it's best to submit order, don't touch[/B] it or modify it, wait for item to ship, enjoy your item, and wake up 2 months later to enjoy your cashback.

*It's also a real hassle, as noted by numerous forum postings (particularly the Black Friday 50% bing casback 2 yrs ago).

Oh crap, I read that as $750 max, but you are right, only $330. Bing.com is usually very good at abiding by those rules, especially being HP will follow them in their final confirmation to bing.com.
