I got a confirmation that was higher than that, but when the 60 days is up they will only give you the $330. I've had experience with many purchases on bing and they abide by their maximum payouts.

I'm actually considering canceling my second order, as at $330 I'd only be saving ~$40 and have to wait 60 days to get that.

Where did you see that? Can you maybe do a screenshot or something? Still a good deal, $330 off, but I might not have opted for the 256GB SSD then.

Thinking about reordering with bing. Does hp pay for return shipping if within the 21 day period? And would there be a restocking fee?

The $330 is just part of the hp advertisement on their pavilion, it has nothing to do with bing cashback guys..

Read again: "Up to $330 off HP Laptops & $745 off Desktops + 30% Bing Cashback." That means that HP is offering discounts (usually in the form of free upgrades, etc) worth up to $330, and then you can add a 30% BCB discount. If someone can confirm that this isn't true, count on me and a lot of other people to cancel our second orders...

Ok, good. I didn't see any restrictions on this anywhere either, and I looked closely because I wasn't about to pull the trigger on a 256GB SSD without it.

I went ahead an ordered (thanks Mom, lol):

    i5-520m
    256GB SSD

    Built by July 22, 2010

    $1923.89 - $544.50 BCB = $1379.39

Everything else stock, no warranty or anything. Debated about lojack, but my homeowners and car insurance cover cost of laptop with $100 deductible so I guess I'm fine with that.

If the 256GB SSD sucks, then I'll have to ask them to replace my SSD with an Intel 160GB and give me $200 back because I'm not going to have the 30% chance again I don't think.

link to source. If this is true, my order should only be:

    With student discount: 1206 - 100 to cancel -25 for late shipping -44 for CPU price reduction - 20 offered = 1017

    With Bing: 1315 - 330 = 985

    Difference: 1017-985 = $32

GUY THIS MIGHT NOT BE WORTH IT!!!!

    yea, the banner reads:
30% Bing Cashback. Save up to $745 on Desktops & $330 on Laptops.

For my order of $1590, $330 would be a little over 20%. good enough i spose.

Thanks for the head's up everyone, and looking forward to this new laptop to replace my Studio XPS 1640!

    Cheers,

P.S. Also just signed up for both Bing cash back account right before making the purchase, cleared cookies. Went to www.Bing.com/cashback, typed in "HP", clicked on the first banner which says 30% cashback, signed in with my bcb email, filled in captcha, configured the above system, then at checkout, created a new HP account, don't put in coupon codes (this will cancel you BCB), created with the same email as my bcb account i just created, clicked submit. Within 10 mins had a new email from BCB confirming my $405 cash back!

    hp laptop - Bing

It states: Get 30% Bing Cashback. Up to $330 off Select HP Laptops. Ships Free.

However it does say "Select HP Laptops" so not sure if the envy is considered one of their "select".
PS. The text keeps changing. I just refreshed and it didn't say "Up to $330 off..."

Mine says "Up to $330 off HP Laptops & $745 off Desktops + 30% Bing Cashback." which definitely indicates to me that the $330 and $745 are not directly related to the BCB, the plus sign indicates that BCB comes in addition to those savings, not at a maximum of those numbers.

no, the 10% is real. the complaint for component change is not. If you did not get a case number, then its probably fake!

Here is what I got that is real:
    10$coupon
    22.5$cpu price match
    105$(%10 bing complaint)

ok people, call in and make sure you are getting the right amount. I am still able to get the same price as bing with the credits and fatwallet@5%.

edit: make sure you record the rep name & case number~

Everyone who stated that $330 is not the max is correct, after reading the ad again.

I just canceled my second order anyways, as I confirmed I am getting $305.64 back to my card immediately and I also have $150 coming back in cash back from various programs.

If I can get $305 back alone for me it's worth it, rather than waiting 60 days and having potential bing.com issues.

Interesting... I got $100 bcb price match credited to my cc. I should have also received $115 in credit due to previous component price match /delay complaints. However the CSR I spoke with about the bcb price match said there was no note of those on my account. I've already received todays $100 credit, it even shows up in my order status with an order number.

Yeah I got a confirmation email from BCB about 10 mins after order, my order before tax came to $1,349.99 and my BCB email stated $405 cash back, so there doesn't seem to be a cap on the 30%. =)

Called back to make sure I'm getting the full credit and yes my previous $200 credit does stack along with the academic discount so that's $325.

On another note, recording the rep's name doesn't really help because I got a female rep whose name was "Mike". Maybe I heard it wrong or it is a cultural name.

You can't combine student discount and Bing Cashback. It may show up in your cashback account, but it will get cancelled in 30-45 days before the 60 day wait period to get your money back.

There is no limit. Search "HP Laptops" or "HP Computers" or whatever, and you get a different ad every time.
