    I said earlier they had a promotion for it, but you might have to call and ask them. As of right now I am confused as to what the battery is because they told me their are 2 slim fit batteries, "Standard and "Extended-Life", and there is a 50 dollar difference between them which they have no reason why.

    I called HP and they said they couldn't remove my coupon code for the 30% BCB...evidently once an order goes through, they won't make changes even if it gives them profit...

    Any other possible solutions?

    Called hp again and got another $50 back on top of the $100 I got from them before. Not as good as the 30% BCB but decent enough with EPP and fatwallet.
    My total was 1100 before taxes and any rebates fyi.

    Always tell them your friend / family etc. got it... that way you have credibility and they are more likely to believe you..

    ^ you might be right & I hope your right... but I don't see it exceeding or even reaching the 40% BCB deal they had on BF a year or 2 back....

    ^ there is no profit incentive... HP pays Bing for cashback when they want to boost sales, MS matches HP or something of that nature.

    imo they are making more money when you used that coupon (and plus your BCB will more than likely be canceled ) ... pure profit.

    Your best bet is to talk to a supervisor.

    ^ sums up my story to an extent... and I didn't click the 30% BCB even though It was active @ the time (Damn my lack of impulsive buying!!)

    ^ you may have gotten lucky... SD is very well known to most retailers ... but referring to a deal some1 posted while trying to replicate it almost never helps one get the deal... but I suppose its YMMV.

    Id rather not in fear of them taking mine away. Just tell them that someone you work with, but aren't really close with got the $200 credit. I did that, and when they asked me for the person's info, I just said that I only work with them from time to time and only know their first name and they were fine with it.
    Tell them that you would rather not cancel/reorder but if they can not give you the $200 back, they you are ready to do it.

    Do you think I could pay for the upgrade from 6GB to 8GB memory, send in my 2GB stick of ram for a 4GB stick? Or do I need to just order another one with 8?

    It makes sense. People are going to click the 30% off button right before it goes back to 5%. They are going to need to give people at least a reasonable amount of time to then pick something out and then put the order through. Even though the BCB website might be saying 5% when you actually finalize your order that started by clicking the 30% off link.

    As long as credit back does not interfere with cash back, I saved $470 on an already well-priced notebook. Now, I should prepare some screen shots so I'm ready if Bing voids it.

    If everyone in the state you lived in gave you just $1, you'd be rich, and most people would never even notice the loss in income.

    I have a general question about batteries. I want the extended slice, but didn't buy today even with the BCB 30% because it is still quite overpriced for an extended battery. There are numerous 3rd party manufacturers out there who sell on ebay and the like, some are good, some not so good. I'm wondering how long in the past has it taken from laptop release to these manufacturers selling compatible batteries? Also, is there a 3rd party manufacturer that is known for making good quality batteries?

    hey guys 2 questions, sorry if either of these have been answered today, but i feel like you guys can understand because of the madness that this forum has been over the last few hours.

    I'd like to first say that ive been asleep today because i have to work nights tonight and will be going into work for 11pm, so i missed the 30% party earlier.

    question 1: i ordered my envy i think a day or so after it came out, maybe July 1st or so. so i saw that ppl who had previously bought called in today and got around $200 off for complaining and stating bing is 30% , blah blah.. so my question is now that it is back to 5% can i still call in right now (hrs after it is over) and get money back?

    question 2: Like i said my order was on the 1st or around there and my ship date has said july 9th all along, i havent gotten any emails confirming that it shipped or that the shipping was delayed. Is ne1 else experiencing this? did my item ship? is it delayed? should i expect an email before it ships or is it likely already on its way with no confirmation email? thank you in advance to a sleepy soon to be envy owner.
