You could always do what that guy did earlier: get extremely pissed, tell them how you really need this laptop by this date, and see if they're willing to overnight you another laptop until this comes in. I forgot his name though and I'm too lazy to search for it.

30% BCB secured on an Envy14, ordered 7/12! Already in my BCB account visible. Final price 2121, price before tax and shipping $1965, cashback $590 or so.

Notable upgrades for mine...
Quad Core i7-840QM, the vast majority of the price went here. Battery life is a secondary concern for me, and I'm happy to be purchasing the thinnest/smallest laptop with a Core i7 Quad available!
4gb Single DIMM. I'll add my own additional stick for half or less of what they wanted.
500gb HDD - For only $25 more I got nearly twice the storage space. Pretty decent deal. I'll buy a SSD or the Seagate or future WD "Hybrid" drives like the MomentusXT instead, later. I need a fair bit of space as I dual boot Linux.
Slice Battery. I think its incredibly overpriced to ask an additional $200 for it, but it seems it is a different model from the old Envy15 slice. At least this one is polymer, its a shame the normal battery is not. I hope the connector is improves as well.

Build by date is 10 days later, July 22. I've read that some got their Envy shipping far faster than the build date, so that's good news. I can only hope there won't be any delays. I hope that there won't be any shortages, but as I ordered the Core i7 840 which few did, I assume they won't be running out of processors at least.

 

Yeah the rep I talked to gave me an additional $150 credit to my order because of the 30% BCB. So as thanks I took the survey. It was just general questions about why you called HP and how you felt the service rep handled your problems, only took about 5 minutes.

If you're a student, then great. Regardless, try haggling with a CSR for $200 off or more. A few people have managed to get more than $200. Mention the BCB promotion and say you know someone got in on it and felt screwed.


That, or wait a couple more weeks. I've seen HP 30% come and go within a matter of days.

If you have a smartphone, you should be able to make the purchase when you're away from your computer. Save your credit card information onto your HP account so you don't have to punch in your main numbers while in public.

I too learned the art of frugality, but from my parents. I never bought into the smartphone hype, so I pay $15-20/month for my prepaid minutes. Maybe if my future job ever requires that I have one, I'll get one, but it's going on my company's tab. 8-9 cents per minute and 5 cents a text is what I pay.

Now that my parents are retiring, they have fewer qualms about snapping up big-ticket items like a 60" TV. Just like they did, I plan to continue living frugally until the age of 60-65 after which I'll retire in style.

I dont think you can do this. The discover cash back link is going through discover website, almost the same methods as bing.

Anyone can confirm if HP will send Bing invoice that would include the cash that they refund us?Or the original invoice is equal as final invoice.

I think if you do bing at the same time with HPA. But not quite sure.

I did the same thing, my point is to get 10% off. She agreed to give it to me. My invoice still the same but she changed my account to HPA from normal and stated that there is no confirmation and I would see it when the product ship.

I will call again tomorrow to see if any documentation regarding my 10%.

Microsoft is very clear in what is valid and what isn't. People try to skirt the system all the time and get burned.

Getting a credit by HP is ok because they are trying to keep you happy and keep your business. Otherwise other discounts or coupons are not allowed.

For 30% off I wouldn't bother with trying to save an extra few % risking losing the 30%. For some people I guess there's never enough.

 

I dunno. Since it's HP giving the credit trying to keep your business, I don't see that as an issue. I dunno though. I'm not gonna whine and risk losing my $544 BCB I already have. I'm satisfied.

 

I'm just going to leave it alone. I got my laptop, with i5 450M, 7200 RPM 500GB HD, SLICE battery, lojack 4 years and 2 day shipping for $1100, shipping and tax in.
