Well, the shipping date for mine came and went. Status still shows: Order in production (Estimated to ship on July 12, 2010), despite that the 12th was yesterday. No delay emails or anything yet.

I thought you could indefinitely. as long as the cookie isn't erased, I think you're good.

Important addendum: Microsoft will cancel BCB after 30 days -
Where are you guys seeing the 30% BCB? Or did I miss the chance? I'm only seeing 5% everywhere I look.
Edit: Ended in under a day I see. Jeez, not cool Microsoft. -
well. that sucks. Thanks.
Also, does this work with Billmelater? I saw a few varying responses on that. -
It's still cheaper to get the 1 dimm upgrade and then install your own 4gb.
HP Upgrade - $200
1 Dimm upgrade ($25) + Any 4GB laptop DDR3 RAM you want ($99-$200)
So chances are you can get it cheaper and better RAM if you do it yourself. -
Go to Bing.com, make sure all adblocking software is off, type in HP, and there should be an ad towards the top that shows 30% Cashback.
-
Just shows 5% again now. I think it was a very short deal this time around.
-
It says 5%, but when you click it it comes up as 30%. At least, that's what it's doing to me.
-

what harb said.
the ad is lying -
I'm not worried about space.. is getting the HP's 160GB SSD much better than getting the 500GB 7200RPM? I've figured that with the Bing Cashback, it would be +$162 to get the SDD (excluding any taxes).
-
The 30% BCB is over, didn't even last a full day.
-
It's actually 200*.3=$140. So, basically I paid $140 for the 4 gig stick.
I know I could get it cheaper. Frankly, I just would rather not worry about it. It was cheap enough and convenient to get it now...I suppose I could have saved $41, but I've already ordered. -
click the link. it's still at 30%
-
I went about seeing if 30% is still there the same way I did it yesterday.
It does say only 5% for me now. -
click that 5% link. it still shows the 30% popup for me.
-
Just did. says 5% for me.
-
same for me.
Also, I did get confirmation that the 256GB SSD is a Western Digital. -
The link still shows 30% to me.
-
Do you know what the 160GB SSD is?
-
Mine is in Memphis! Only a state away..
(Estimated to be here Thursday by 4:30) -
Intel
Here's the conversation:
-
I just followed your advice. However, after I log in my account and order the computer I didn't see any automatic academic discount. I was basically charged the full price. The order went through. Should I call HP and ask for academic discount now? Would that void my BCB? I don't even know if I will get BCB. How soon will I get notice from Microsoft that I did get BCB?
This is my first time order from HP and BCB. Your help is greatly appreciated. -
Intel x-25m G2 is shipping in the dv6tse w/ 160 ssd.
Still waiting on my Bing confirmation after 20 hours... -
Hooray! My 2nd order with the SSD went through and have $439.50 pending. I couldn't give up the chance of having a 160GB SSD vs. 500GB 7200RPM HDD for just $163 price difference in the laptop. That is killer!
-
FYI I left my HP order open for 40 minutes at least and have the cashback pending. ($490.50)
i5-450
6GB Ram
160GB SSD
HP D110A Printer -
Wow, you're right. I'm going to go ahead and submit an order and see if I can get it.
-
I have a question.
If I use the "Bill Me Later" option, BCB should still work right?
sry, first time I ever buy a computer online -
Yes it should work.
-
It may show in your account, but it will be cancelled in 30-45 days...
edit: nevermind. I read it as in you took the 10% student discount in addition to Bing discount. Although I'd still be leary. -
Agreed. I'd say cancel your current order and reorder as soon as possible to still get the 30%. HP and/or Microsoft (not sure who really handles the Bing Cashback) will do whatever it can to save money and if they see both the academic and Bing Cashback, the bigger chunk will be voided because it explicitly is against the rules.
-
Wow, didn't even last 2 hours
-
That's what I'm planning to do. I'll probably get it later this year though. It shouldn't be too hard since with the User's Manual HP provided.
Also, I'll most likely purchase 500GB Momentus XT (second fastest HDD around) since it's 1/3 of 160GB SSD price. (Even with 30% off BCB I still have to pay 9% tax) -
I started my order while it was at 30%, if I submit it now will I still get it?
-
Pop up still show 30%.
-
Just ordered 2 minutes ago while the site said 5% but when you clicked it showed 30%. Already got my BCB email saying I have 454.20 pending cash back.
-
That's what I did, so yes.
-
Yea I ordered mine JUST before they changed the main bing.com page banner to 5%. Got my 30% CB email already showing as pending. If you want to order I'd do it now since the pop-up overlay still shows as 30% (take a screenshot as proof in case you need to dispute). Good luck!
-
original order on the 28th: i5-450m, 4gb 1 dim, 500gb hdd (had momentus xt ready to go) and $1 upgrade for norton... $1233 with tax after 10% student discount also got credit of $200 for various things so total was $1033.
BCB order = i5 450m, 4gb 1 dim, 256 gb SSD *ANYBODY KNOW WHICH ONE? IS IT GUARANTEED TO USE TRIM? THANKS*
came out to $1917 - 30% ($522) = $1395 ... need to do a little bit of complaining to get that number to $1250... then I will be really incredibly excited.
Anybody know if the $1 norton upgrade I got in my first order will work in my 2nd order? -
So i just ordered 5 mins ago and still no CB email. I'm sure i did everything right, is this normal?
-
wow, that's really sneaky of them! I feel like they did that just for us because we can share the good news, whereas all those other ppl won't have a clue! Get that BCB while it's still hot!
-
btw, we THINK the 256gb SDD is a western digital whereas the 160gb SSD is intel
-
Hehe I told my friends on Facebook the specs of the notebook that I'm getting with the final laptop price (including the Bing Cashback) and some of them are calling me a liar.
Just for a bit of fun... I put in "What can you get in a Mac for that price?"
-
You cant get a MBP for that price.
I paid 1095+tax after BCB for
2.4ghz i5-450, 6GIG Ram, 160GB SSD
15 MPB would be $2600 ($1500 more than Envy) for:
2.4ghz i5
8GB ram (Envy 6)
128GB SSD (Envy 160)
Base Screen 1440x900 (Envy 1600x900 Radiance) -
QUESTION
I know BCB doesn't work with coupons. Is the $25 "coupon" that HP sent for the delayed order a "coupon"? I.e. will it combine with BCB? It works with HPA..
edit-moot point. it's 5% again, even when clicking the link. SOOO glad I got in on the 30% today for the laptop! -
haha, good stuff! It's going to be awesome, i can't wait!
btw, for those of you who ordered with BCB recently, what is your est. shipping date? Mine is the 22nd -
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
IT KEEPS CHANGING!
If you keep refreshing, sometimes it will be 5%, sometimes its 30%, but everytime that you click through, even if it says 5% on the bing search page, it still shows up as 30%.
weird, but I plan on odering a second laptop tonight, and will not worry about any other discounts other than the BCB just to be safe. -
I wouldnt risk the $325+ Bing cashback for $25 heh. And yes, looks like the 30% is over for now. Maybe it'll come tomorrow since yesterday it was 30% CB from around 11:00AM - 6:30PM.
-
...So I got the 30% Bing pop-up to come up and even took a screenshot before placing my order, and now that the CC's gone through, I checked by Bing account and it's only giving me 5%!!! What can I do? Please help.
BTW, I definitely would NOT have gotten the laptop for only 5% BCB....I'm getting this for school and could have used the Academic Discount! -
Mine says the 23rd. Man this was a HUGE impulse buy for me, but couldn't pass up 30% Bing Cashback (kind of a last hurrah for me since Bing CB is so awesome and ending on 7/30/10 :*( )!
Overall it seems the Envy 14 got pretty good reviews/feedback. Any glaring issues on it?
