well it's more of a "oops I didn't shut it down right"

 

Yeah I just kept repeating "I can save over 150 dollars if I buy it somewhere else and she didn't even check she probably just got tired of hearing me say that. I'm pretty amazed that she told me she'd be sending out mass emails, I post it on here and literally a minute later we received the emails. I guess I'm special. I'm just going to use that 25 credit for a slice or a new monitor or something cool. Basically if you can handle waiting and you ordered the 27th, you're going to (eventually) be getting an amazing computer with a ton of discounts.

Also is this true about them also upping us all to 2 day shipping?

 

i really hope these sales reps arent yanking our tails with the credit back and filling out price match forms. My rep was singing the whole time she was filling it out and very incoherent. I got my price match, 100 for wanting to downgrade, 25 for processor change, and 25 for delay, they better stack.

 

Well I guess the laptop just keeps getting cheaper. I didn't ask her for an upgrade to 2-3 day shipping, but I was implying it. She didn't bite though, but maybe the upgrade will be automatic?

 

The rep that I am on the phone with told me that HP is upgrading everyone affected by the delay to two day shipping for free. Like I said, I can't tell you if this is true or not- it's just what I was told.

But it makes sense- if you delay shipping to your customers, then give them faster shipping... But who really knows what HP is thinking in sending out a shipping delay notification one day after the item was supposed to ship? They obviously knew things were going to be delayed the day before, assuming the problem is related to supply chain.

 

From the Envy 17 experience, the luckiest people got the laptop 7 days after the delayed shipment notification. They had an initial shipment notification of June 1st, got it delayed and some received them on June 7th.
So that would time the first Envy 14 arrivals on the 14th and the 15th.

If you're not so lucky you can actually end up waiting 20+ days. Just sayin'

I was nice about, but the lady offerd to pay me 50 to my debit card, when I simply asked her to credit the coupon 25 to my card.
So as of right now, I have 50 coming my way, with a useful $25 coupon.

Idk what to spend it on. Ideas?
And I ordered on the 27th too. If the shipping upped, then I shouldn't really worry about it being late lol

 

i've already gotten 48$ off the initial order (with the EPP discount already deducted) and just called in for the processor price cut to get another 22.50$ off.
im about to call them about the dissatisfaction with the delay and extended shipping time.

 

When Envy 17 owners got the 2nd delay they got 10% off too..but I really hope it doesn't go that far.

I didn't get my 450 or my slice battery. I did however get $100 and from what the lady said (I couldn't really tell because she had somewhat of a fillipino accent) the slice battery would cost $75? She said she couldn't add it to my order because it's deemed a part of the computer and the reps aren't allowed to tamper with the orders. She did give me the $100 as a refund because I seemed intent on buying a battery when it became available. Pretty sure I didn't need to kiss to get the $100 but either way I'm glad that worked out.

On another note, yes the music is very kick butt and these people are a lot friendlier than the sharks that work at AT&T. Those people hound every last dime out of you.

 

I called and they said all delayed shipping are expedited to 3-4 days. Sounds like BS. If I don't get my laptop next week I'm just going to return it.

 

psh another 100+ off for just like 5-10 days more, i'd be down for that, but still slightly pissed, its cutting it really close to my start day of school and i need a few days to get things transferred and installed

I agree with the general sentiment here that if I don't have a Fedex tracking number by next week, I'm just going to cancel my order with HP. It's unfortunate for them, but a nearby store recently got stock of the 4820TG with the i450m.

Besides flimsy build quality on the display (and a lower screen resolution), I think it's a nice setup, and it's only $899, as compared to a base of over $1000 for the HP.

 

When it comes. Then I can maybe haggle some more out of HP =\.

Sigh.. Its so hard to save up to finally order something so expensive and suddenly something goes wrong >=[

Good thing is that the lady gave me $50 on top of the $25 coupon and now I'm asking her to check the 450M price difference. So that should be $100 off for me. =\

Hate to be cheap but when you are a college student whose previous laptop decided to die on you, gotta get all the money back. I saved forever for this =D

 

dammit...if i knew i would be racking this much money back....i could have just gotten the 160gb ssd for about $200...sigh....well lesson learned. i never knew HP was so lenient about giving money back...i always just went to best buy or fry's.

would it be possible to leech money off from HP if I said "Costco is offering the Envy 14 for slightly more, but giving me 3 months to test it out + a 2 year warranty"? From what I read in a previous post, someone said they threatened to cancel their order, but the customer service representative gave him/her $100 free for not doing so.

 

I just called in complaining about the lower price on amazon and asked to cancel the order but wasn't given anything in return. I doubt that asking the about Costco would do anything either

Do you guys think the delay will push back peoples' orders who bought it more recently. I bought it on the 5th and mine is set to be shipped on the 15th.

 

Just curious what did you not like about your m11x r2. The reason I ask is, because I just got mine and I'm having second thoughts. I got the i7 with 4g ram and 250 hd for 925 shipped, which isn't bad, but this screen is a tad small. The only thing holding me back on the e14 is that the processor doesn't run at full speed when unplugged, which might pose a problem when playing moh, bf2bc and cod 2. What do you guys think. This would be just for gaming on the go and surfing the web.

 

depends on which part is back-ordered. mine is all base configuration so I'm betting there is no delay... but I really want the coupon.

 

I bought it on the 5th too! I really hope mine isn't delayed since I have to go to a conference on the 26th and I'm hoping to take this laptop with me. Maybe whatever part that is backordered will come back in stock by then and we can have the laptop on time!

Well, I chatted with an HP Rep online, and she told me that my order (due to ship on July 13) is on schedule...I sure hope shes right...if not I guess I'll try to get about $25-$50 back for the delay.

 

Got the "due to shipping constraints" email as well as the $25 coupon. I ordered at 7am pacific time on the release date. My status had an expected ship date of the 7th. On the 7th, I called to see if my item was on schedule, since there was no warning of delay. I was told to call back in 24hrs if I didn't get an update. When 24hrs came and went, I called HP again. I was told that my pc had been completed and was waiting in customs. Now, I get this email. A little honesty would have been nice.

I canceled mine before I received it after I saw the issues my brother was having. His hinges were coming apart and when they tried to replace his screen they tried to replace it with a what looked like filthy used screen. For an Alienware the build quality didn't seem up to par. He had issues with Optimus that I'm sure will be worked out eventually but I myself didn't want to have to be a guinea pig in a sense. In addition to this the screen was just too small and too glossy for my taste.

And I haven't heard of the processor on the E14 running at half speed until now. I figured with the E14 having switchable graphics there wouldn't be a need to limit the processor when its unplugged. Has this been 100% confirmed or is it just speculation based the previous E15. If this is the case i guess I'll be looking for another laptop all together. Either that or taking advantage of the 21 return policy and finding out if this is truly the case in hand.

Got the Mr. Rebates and eBay Bing cashback to stack using these instructions.

Considering I can avoid the 8.75% tax here in California and the fact that she prices the configurations at the exact HP Direct price, I'd say it is worth the slightly longer wait (it ships to her first before shipping to you).

 

My biggest concern with the e14 is the touchpad. I love using the touchpad on my dell, I never use a mouse so I hope I can get used to the envy one.

 

If only you could stack the Academic, or EEP discount on that Lordy would I be in Heaven!

 

I called HP to see what the deal is -

she said my order would be shipped hi priority and that it would no longer be shipped via the 5-7 business day standard shipping

she assured me it would be expedited and take no longer than 2 business days to arrive

I'm going to have to take the account rep at her word, but assuming it gets shipped tomorrow it will get here faster than originally was scheduled to (at least no later)

 

I ordered on the 28th and haven't received an email, but I'm assuming those of us who ordered on the 28th will receive an email tomorrow? Along with $25 cash back and free 2-day shipping?

So I knew this would happen and actually called HP today... they gave me bs about customs and what not. I told them it didnt ship on that date and I need a laptop by saturday...so I came up with a solution...they ordered an Envy 13 overnight shipping for me to get tomorrow with slice for it. This way i get a laptop for my trip, keep my envy 14 order. They did the overnight shipping for free and I plan to call them today to get my original 2 day shipping credited back.
