Don't want to be the pessimist, but it seems very unlikely that hundreds of Envy 14's will arrive at their locations tomorrow. I'm guessing the people in the West Coast will definitely get theirs but unless Fedex is shipping through a plane to East Coast - I'm guessing we'll receive ours next week.
If it does, GREAT! but too bad it'll be going back to HP after a few weeks so that I get my new E14 with an SSD hehe. So I'm planing on not removing any bloatware or putting any of my files on there. I'll do benchmarks, browse, and play a few games - then restore at the end.
-
the first day this month was from 10/11 a.m. until 7 p.m. ish. The second day (consecutive) was from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. ish.
-
Sounds like tomorrow is going to be Christmas in July for a lot of people.
-
I hope so! I can't keep it long, but I can get a feel for her.
-
Well, don't forget that this is EXACTLY what Fedex told me over the phone this morning. She stated that my package would be "put on a plane late tonight, and will arrive at your location tomorrow, no later than 4:30 pm."
So, I think they actually are being flown to the closest location for each destination.
Edit: and by "your (my) location", she repeated my 'ship to' address (my office) back to me over the phone. So, she didnt just mean arriving in my city, or anything. -
i would love to get my laptop tomorrow but i wont hold my breath. besides ill be sending the first one back eventually anyway. though i would like to get a feel for it.
-
wow i ordered on tuesday and the laptop is already in production..pretty nice
-
What.... ;____;
Come on, Fedex, if you're gonna ship it down here, might as well put all the Cali ones too. ;_; You don't /have/ to give it to me on the 20th. Tomorrow is fine.
Ah well. :| -
Couple of hours at least. Up to 5?
-
so, I had this in the e14 owners lounge, but i think this is a more appropriate place. Please click the link and advise me if you have experience with HP customer support (both case managers and home and home office).
It's a really complicated situation, and if you guys can help me out, then we will have pictures and reviews of the e14 next to the e15

Mine was in the clearance delay state yesterday, and I was doubting that it was going to show up on time today, but somehow fedex pulled it off!
Here's the full timeline for all of you who are still waiting....Attached Files:

The only thing I could advise is to keep the pressure on, and try emailing mark (t)hurd. lol Just keep calling and trying anything you can, if that doesn't work, you'll just have to accept the offer they gave you. -
Just called FedEx and they stated that they do give priority to those packages that shipped earlier, regardless if it ended up on the same flight as one that shipped later.
Also I was told that if they miss a Friday delivery, one can actually go to the FedEx center on Saturday and pick up the package. So that is an option for those who might have their Friday delivery missed. -
Well, this sucks horribly for some of us then.... because this means that our (or, at least my) "delays" are likely still ahead of me (us). <sigh
(Based on the timeline provided) -
is there anybody who ordered after june 29th with 450m, 4gb ram 1 DIMM(the rest base), and standard shipping have a delivery date before the 20th.
-
What address did you email them at?
I want $50 back on the slice. -
Hey ChemE, where in NC are you? Im in charlotte =]
Mines out of clearance delay too, thank god. My arrival date is still tomorrow so I am keeping my fingers crossed! Maybe they will ship it right to the Charlotte distribution center? seems like the only way it would make it here on time lol -

Hey guys, I have bad news. I just called Fedex to ask on the status of our packages. The lady insisted that the website is wrong and our laptops are still being detained in customs because they haven't received documentation from HP. She told me it will not be making it to my house by tomorrow and that she cannot give me an estimate on when it will be delivered. :/ Sorry guys. I say give them a call asking where yours is. I guess I won't be enjoying my ENVY this weekend. The number I called is 1-800-455-4588.
-
Will they do a Saturday delivery if they miss tomorrow's delivery or no since it's HP's fault not theirs?
-
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
hmmm...
well we'll just see tomorrow -
No they will not.
-
Time for people call HP and ask for another discount!
-
I hope that lady was wrong. She was rather annoying. Every time I asked a question about it she interrupted me mid-sentence saying she knew more than I did and if there were any changes, she'd be the first to know.
-
Um, I ordered on July 7 with those exact specs and its supposed to be delivered on the 20th (yet its still in Shanghai).
-
Dear HP,
I was very exited when you told me I would receive my shiny new envy 14 on July 9th. I had a deadline that I had to meet and I was sure I would be able to meet it. I didn't. I was mad when it didn't arrive July 9th, but I still had faith in you HP. You then told me I would receive my laptop Wednesday, and I was once again disappointed. Your most recent lie was that it would arrive this morning at 10:30am, and yet, my laptop is nowhere to be found. I will be leaving tomorrow morning and I will be gone all next week. My laptop will have to sit, unattended, for 8 days because of your severe f up (unless you somehow get my laptop from Alaska to south Georgia by 11:00am tomorrow morning.) Eff you HP, Eff you.
Sincerely,
An extremely pissed off customer. -
My Gawd! This whole ordeal just makes me absolutely furious with HP.
This will be my 6th laptop, but it will be the first one I ever custom configured on the web, and had shipped. And i can tell you that it will surely be the last. I will absolutely NOT ever put myself through this again. Its outrageous!
Henceforth, I will buy my laptops at retail. Where you pay for something, and then you get to leave the store with it, and enjoy it at home that very evening.
God, i'm freaking livid!!! -
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
hunkychop.
you may want to call wherever the package shows up at (fedex center/wherever) and have them hold it after it fails to deliver to your house once.
otherwise it may end up going back to HP -
Have you tried calling Fedex? The lady I sounded to sounded grumpy. Perhaps her ENVY was delayed a week or 2 so she was upset.
Kidding aside, give them a call. Ask politely though. haha
-
I'm going to have a neighbor sign for it. Glad I have trustworthy neighbors.
-
Then when you come back from your vacation, they have moved away to keep the precious Envy 14.
jk...i would be really depressed if that ever happened to me Q_Q -
I think moving costs just a bit more than the envy
-
Anybody remember back in the day, before the internet and web tracking, when you'd order something (over the phone) and then sometime later you were just surprised when the item showed up at your door? Those were the good old days.
Don't worry guys, in a couple of months, you won't even remember how long it took to ship the laptop. -
Exactly. I find it funny that people are getting worked up over shipping delays. Either way you cut it, 30% off a an already low price is unbeatable, delays or no delays.
-
I went to HP direct, clicked on customer service at the top, then clicked on live assistance, then clicked on "I want to e-mail a customer service agent" you submit a form with your order # and they get back within 24 hrs.
not sure if this link will take you straight there or not...

Apart from those of us who are still trying to get Bing to honor the 30%.
And for those of us who are unhappy with the shipping delay, it sounds like I'm not the only one who had a deadline. I had an estimated ship date of the 12th and paid $80 extra for 2-day shipping (they double the charges if you purchase a warranty, even though it shipped 10 days before the laptop), in an attempt to get the laptop delivered before I go out of the country for two weeks.
That and with only 21 days to return the laptop, missing 14 of those days is a crappy way to get started. -
Josh, it's actually been stated that it's 21 days from date of delivery so you should be good.

FedEx delivers on Saturdays
FedEx Home Delivery® offers standard Saturday delivery to residential addresses and may deliver on Saturdays depending on the transit time from origin to destination.
http://www.fedex.com/us/customersupport/shipping/ratesandtransit/
Not only that, in my case they deliver up to 8pm at night!
Wrong! -
To me, the price and the shipping/customs delays are two completely separate, unrelated issues.
If HP had said to me, I'll give you 30% off, to be manipulated, lied to and jerked around for the better part of half a month (I ordered on FRICKING APRIL 30TH!!!!!!!!!! for God's sake), I don't know if I would have done it or not (knowing myself, likely not), but I wasn't given a choice. And therein lies el probleymo. -
Agree. My est ship was the 8th and HP guaranteed it would be here by the 14th. Well its the 15th and its still in Alaska. I go on vacation tomorrow morning and will be picking my Envy up from Fedex on the 26th. Oddly, while on the phone and before asking for the hold, the Fedex CSR told me that my order had already been requested to be held at the local distribution office and that it was not scheduled to be delivered at all. I was quite confused.
-
LOL. Priceless...

An update on my bing situation...this is getting ridiculous so I thought I should share the story from the top:
I was one of the people who missed the first BCB, and thought I missed the second. A few people posted here saying that although the ad said 5%, the popup on HP's page still said 30%. So I click the ad and indeed get a 30% popup. Great. I screenshot the popup just in case.
After I buy two laptops, I patiently wait for an email from bing to see if the 30% worked out. So of course, I only get the 5% BCB refund. I then started a service request with attached information on: subtotal of both laptops, date of purchase, time of purchase, order # and the screenshot of 30% BCB.
Their first response asked me to provide more detailed information on each products in my order. So I respond with an attached screenshot of both laptop's configurations and their separate subtotals from the HP order page. The next response (from a new customer service representative) asks for a screenshot that included the merchant's label. She then proceeded to instruct me on how to take screenshots as though she didn't notice the screenshots I already provided in the previous responses. I provide them with a new screenshot of the configurations that included the HP banner at the top of the page as well as the paypal order receipt.
The next response (again, from a new customer service rep) says:
" After checking our records, I can see that this purchase has been credited to your account. It will remain as pending for 58 more days. All purchases must go through a 60-day pending period. This period allows vendors time to deal with cancelled or returned orders. Once this period is over you can request your payout."
I was well aware that I received the 5% refund but that wasn't even part of the INITIAL complaint. This rep didn't even bother to read the responses that came before it his email. So I respond by clearly outlining the issue at hand, mentioning the first attached screenshot of 30% BCB. He apologizes for the inconvenience and asks me for the original screenshot (the one attached in the initial complaint). After attaching the screenshot again, the same rep writes: "We are sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the cashback program. I understand that you are missing cashback for this particular purchase. An expert in resolving these types of concerns will now be your primary contact for this incident. The agent assigned to your issue will be in touch with you as soon as possible." So it seems like we're getting somewhere right?
This is the email I just received from a new rep regarding my "escalated" request: "Upon checking your account, we were able to determine that your cashback from HP with Order No. H112965934 is already showing as pending in your cashback account. We were able to determine that your cashback will be pending with 57 days remaining. All purchases must go through a 60-day pending period. This period allows vendors time to deal with cancelled or returned orders. Once this period is over you can request for payout."
Again, this new rep didn't bother to read anything that was said in the previous responses. To be honest I can understand if I don't get the 30% cashback, but if that's the case I wish they would just say it instead of telling me what I already know about being refunded 5%. I only ordered both laptops if the 30% worked out and now it's getting too late to cancel and I'll probably have to wait for both laptops to come only to return them.
Anyway that was longer than I thought it'd be haha...sorry. Just needed to vent.

To be fair, HP only told you when it would be shipped by. And they upheld that bar the initial delay. Once they ship it, ie give your laptop to FedEx, delivery is out of their (HP's) hands. HP doesn't handle the shipping process, FedEx does. All HP does is build your laptop and give you an estimate of when you would receive it. If the laptop is late getting to your hands, you should be complaining to FedEx.
-
Thanks!
I tried emailing the only support address I could find and essentially got a chatbot reply. Hopefully I'll get an answer like yours. -
Wow such a proud attitude for being so ill informed!
They do deliver on Saturday if the shipper paid for it. HP did not pay for Saturday delivery on any of the Envy orders. The max that they paid for was 2 day delivery, but that is a joke as all of the Envy's are shipped the exact same way. -
HP blames Fedex, Fedex blames HP for not giving them proper documentation to clear customs.
-
Its late to our hands, because of HP's paperwork snafus.
And, oh yeah.... "upheld that, bar the initial delay"??? So, that means they didn't uphold it at all...... right? -
HP has a long (3 year +) history of screwing over FedEx on orders by not giving them proper paperwork.. hence my anger.
look back a couple of pages and you'll see a link to someone else having this problem 3 years ago on yahoo answers. -
They're playing the blame game. How do you know it's HP's fault that it's being held in customs?
They didn't uphold it, but they compensated you for the initial delay. Since you took their compensation, you basically "allowed" them to give you an updated ship date.
If you were really that pissed about HP not getting you E14 into your hands, you would've done what another user has done: strike a deal with HP for them to overnight you an E13 until you receive your E14 upon which time you would return the E13.
