Correlation does not imply causation.
And since when did one reported incident imply a long history?

Quick question, can't Hp fax the invoices to the Fedex office? haha or does it have to be hand delivered in golden casing by courier with a greek name?
-
Multiple people have talked to both HP and FedEx this time around and have been told that it is an issue over HP's paperwork.
as for your edit:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...&q=hp+fedex+clearance+delay+anchorage&spell=1 -
Sorry to break the bad news to you guys...but everyone who had the "clearance delay" cleared, there may be no more red and says "in transit" and next to it it says "Package available for clearance"....its still being held by customs and its not moving right now.
But the lady I called said that customs usually goes through the paperwork at night and there are about 331 packages from HP alone that are being held by customs right now. So I guess its a 50-50 chance we will be getting our Envy's...*fingers crossed that we do get them* -
None other than Hermes Shipping and Transport.
HERMES Shipping & Transport GmbH: Verschiffungen, transports international -
@zeth. That made me laugh for 2 reasons.
1. I can't believe you found something like that.
2. i SWEAR it said Herpes Shipping and Transport. -
Just outside of Raleigh...but I'll be at NCSU in the fall.
I guess our laptops will be traveling buddies until just a few hours until we each receive them! -
So the computers aren't actually past customs even though the website says differently and wont come till sometime next week? I can't tell you how angry that makes me...
-
don't know where you go the idea of proud attitude, but whatever floats your boat.
Also, I am surprised that you haven't read the quote:
"FedEx Home Delivery® offers standard Saturday delivery to residential addresses " -
It's 21 days from delivery. I'd agree with ya the situation would suck really badly if it were 21 days from order. HP would simply abuse that as a bait and switch tactic. -
Yes I know they do, it's an extra fee.
(HP did not spring to pay said fee)
-
I already knew they wouldn't arrive (for some of us) until the 19th ~ just an eerie prediction I guess. If it comes any later than the 19th, we can ask for more money back (and by "we" I mean people who ordered on the 27th or 28th).
Lets see...I ordered on the 28th ---> Build/Ship date was July 8th ---> 5 to 7 shipping days would mean July 15th, 16th, or 19th (and that's excluding July 8th itself). So.....
I could care less if they gave a $25 coupon that doesn't really buy you anything great (Swissgear bag is nice though
) but I will demand more $$$ if it doesn't arrive tomorrow at EXACTLY 4:30 PM! muhahahahahaha.
-
if all goes accordingly this site will surely go nuts tomorrow
-
Dude, it's free for FedEx Home deliveries. I get FedEx packages on Saturday's all the time and I do not pay anything extra. Go to Fedex website and create a shipment, there is no extra fee.
-
I dont think anyone should do this for a package that delayed probably just a day. Beside getting your account marked "bad customer", its a troublesome for both side to process the E13 back and forth.
I feel sorry for people that work on Saturday @Fedex. -
whats this madness about fedex not shipping on saturday?
-
Complete, utter blasphemy!
-
You guys are funny to read
"IT BETTER SHIP TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1LPKOJINBU"
When it doesnt, you QQ. Then wet yourself when it comes the following week. Seriously this is not your first laptop. Calm down please. -
Keep in mind that if you ordered Express you will NOT get it on Saturday, but if you ordered regular shipping Home delivery then it could be delivered on Saturday.
Delivery days and times vary by service type:
FedEx Express®: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (and Saturday with Saturday Delivery special handling option)
FedEx Ground®: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
FedEx Home Delivery®: Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. -
Everyone so far has gotten "International Economy Distribution", which I was told by FedEx will not be delivered on Saturday due to HP not paying an extra fee. Maybe we'll see some shipments on Saturday, but I doubt it. One can pick it up at the local FedEx though.
-
Well, the problem for me is that I have work I need to complete on a clients website and I will be out of town all next week. I needed the laptop so I could continue work but now my client is going to be pisssseeed.
Oh! and my two primary computers are dead (read sig)
... and I won't have access to the vostro I'm on now.
it's not a good situation at all. -
Time to drop by CostCo and <s>abuse</s> use their 90-day return policy on one of their notebooks? That's what I'd do if I had something that important to take care of.
-
I'm with Seneca on this sort of thing. No use getting hopping mad about what you can't control. We'll all get our laptops soon.
In the meantime, who wants a drink? I'm having a drink. -
Hey! Don't take away my free entertainment!
-
yasrsly it's pretty funny LOL.
but if i do get the BCB and an SSD, i'll be the same. Lol. -
So bored these days. With about 2 weeks left until I move up north, I'm just watching anime, reading the fitness/nutrition threads to figure out a good workout/diet regimen, and dying in SC2.
-
Yeah, thats probably what I'll end up doing.
It's not very fun to spend time setting up a computer for work that you know you'll be returning in a week
-
Most drama TV shows kind of suck these days. People here on NBR do a better job at displaying a wide range of emotions from sadness  to rage

Int'l shipment release
ANCHORAGE, AK -
got that too
-
Almost too easy...unbelievable.
2 days ago I orderd the base config + 520m & 500 HDD using the academic discount and $50 rebate - placing order over the phone ...grand total was $1,213 (tax included)
Today I wondered if I could weasel out more discoounts..called the cust. resolution line and told them I would like to downgrade my CPU (520 to 450) as in hind-sight I do not need so much power...
The lady was very nice saying I ordered a nice setup..blah, blah, blah...she needs to check with the warehouse manager (like she is calling China
)
She got back with me and said that since my order is in production changing the CPU could "cause me problems later while using my laptop later "(does this make sense???)...but since they can't comply with my request they will issue me credit of $100 back to my CC 3-5 days after my lappy ships
Is this for real????
-
How does one go about doing this?
I have plenty of Fedex's nearby and a hub about 10 min away. -
So you guys might get your laptops tomorrow if the Clearance delay is over?
-
If your referring to my post (which I'm guessing you are since it tipped you off in to writing the above) I was simply being sarcastic. When it comes to computers and forums, sarcasm is and should always be welcome.
And just an FYI: This is my first laptop, unlike yourself and many others, I don't have the luxury of buying one every other year. --->If I did, I wouldn't bother being on a forum now would I? -
It is not a Fedex Home delivery rated item. The laptops were sent International Economy Distribution which does not offer Saturday delivery. I called Fedex to ask about distribution in the US and the packages are not delivered on Saturday. Friday would be the only possible delivery day this week.
Here is the text of the notation:
For international shipments, Saturday delivery is available for an additional charge in many of the countries served by FedEx International Priority. In certain Far East and Middle East countries, Saturday is a regular business day, and delivery is available at no extra charge via many FedEx Express® international services. U.S.-inbound delivery is available in major markets via FedEx International Priority and FedEx International Priority Freight for an additional charge. Call FedEx International Customer Service at 1.800.GoFedEx
1.800.463.3339 (say international services) for more information. -
But if I'm gone for 14 of those days after delivery I'm not so good.
The idea was to get it before I leave the country and take it with me, but if delivery gets pushed into next week I'll already be gone. -
Well congrats on making your first laptop one of the best out there.
and FYI, i dont get computers every year. maybe every 2-3 and thats when the hinges/screen breaks down on me. I suck with carrying laptops while they are open xD -
Me too. Same exact time too. Here's hoping it's for real unlike what someone said earlier.
-
WOOOOT! I got the status of "Int'l shipment release" WOOOT WOOOTT!!
I think its safe to say that I will be receiving my new baby tomrrow =D -
Woo! Mine just went into transit from Anchorage. It says "Package available for clearance" so it may still be in customs, but it's nice to see an update.
-
I have my fingers crossed but ready for disappointment. Here's hoping!
BTW, what time? I bet it was 3:37 PM - must be a pallet.
My second one was marked available for clearance at 3:13 PM today. -
Damnit, here I am thinking I'll be the first one to yay about the "Int'l shipment release thing" and like 5 of you beat me to it
oh well, as long as I get my new toy, I'll be happy
-
It's a lie, they'll say anything to get you to not cancel. I did the same thing but unfortunately the lady was not so nice and only offered $70. When I asked for a bit more cause I "wanted" to upgrade to the SSD, she offered $80. Then I said I had my heart set on the SSD, and I'd reconsider cancelling if I got $100 back. She said yes. For a moment I thought she was going to call my bluff.
-
You may be right...will see what happens
-
Lie? They followed up on mine. I have it on my account that they credited $100 as soon as they shipped my laptop.
Yeah, I gave up on being excited. If it comes, it comes. If not, I guess I have something to look forward to on Monday.
-
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
Int'l shipment release means that it's finally through customs.
Since it's through customs at about the time it's supposed to get on the plane I'm going to assume it got on the plane.
It might not of though -
mine was at 3:37 as well
-
For those who say they will ship it on weekends:
Notice the bottom right hand corner. It's "Deliver Weekday".
On a different note, the Fedex Desktop application is pretty cool. keeps me from having to refresh Fedex all the time. -
I'm getting this now on Bing when attempting to view my open service request..........
