Gotta be a plane. Shouldn't be more than 6ish hours, right? There's a FedEx distribution center in Northborough, MA and one in Edison, NJ. If it gets to either by early morning I don't see any reason why we won't be enjoying our computers tomorrow night.

 

Perhaps different planes for different parts of the country? Seems like ya'll who got the notice are East Coast-ers.

When it says "indirect signature required," would it be possible to simply leave a note at the door with information such as the tracking number and phone # along with your signature and ask them to leave it there? I almost always miss delivery and my neighbors are too scary to ask.

 

Gotta be different planes. But then again, you never know with a bureaucracy that big!

Maybe the non-East-Coasters will get a notice soon for a different plane.

Ah, nevermind about the presigning. Here's what the FedEx page says:

For packages not requiring a signature for release, our drivers will leave the package at a recipient's door, or other secure location, if the driver believes it is reasonable to do so. If your package was shipped with the Indirect Signature Release option, you may leave a signed and dated handwritten note on the door instructing the driver to leave the package at your door.

When the driver is unable to leave your package, they will leave a door tag on your door, informing you of the delivery attempt. The door tag contains information that may offer you the option to sign the door tag and have the driver leave your package in a secure location on the next delivery attempt, typically the next business day.

If signing the door tag is not possible because the shipper has requested an in-person, direct signature, you may request your package be held for pickup at your nearby FedEx Office location. For FedEx Express® packages, you may also request the package be held at the delivery station.

I might clarify that I'm waiting for a second with an SSD that I ordered on the 30% BCB offer, not jumping the E14 ship entirely.

Mine hasn't updated past "Package available for clearance"!!! I ordered the 28th!!! Soooo not cool. It better get here tomorrow, or HP will get a most pleasant telephone call tomorrow at exactly 4:30:01 p.m. EST.

 

just got this Jul 15, 2010 3:13 PM Package available for clearance, but mine is not due till the 20th so do you guys think mine might come early

 

I placed the order of Envy 14 on JUNE 30TH. And the original shipping date is July 12. But I get an E-mail on Tuesday that my order is delayed and the new shipping date is July 23. And i will leave the country on July 29. I am worried about whether I can get my computer. My experience with HP so far is extremely terrible.

 

Which tracking site(s) are you guys using? I find a combination of FedEx and simpletracking.com works best. Sometimes one has info before the other.

 

i got the same delay email but the next day i got a shipping notification so you might get yours shipped early like i did. i would call, explain your situation and ask for them to upgrade to 2 day shipping

 

im just using the fedex link on hp's site

 

Call them and tell them your situation - they should upgrade you to free two-day shipping - it's not a guarantee that you'll get it in time, but it's about as close as you're gonna get at this point.

BTW, I ordered an envy 14 with the 450m cpu. I will give a short follow-up about whether it has a whining noise as soon as I get it.

When I said it's a lie, I was referring to what the CSR said about his laptop not working properly if he downgraded his CPU from the 520 to the 450, NOT the promise of a credit.

From the looks of past shippings, it takes about 5 hours and 30 minutes to get it to Oakland from Anchorage. I'll be checking back around 11 or so.

 

Mine JUST moved from "Int'l shipment release" -> "In transit" =D

Arg. It's been more than 3 hours for me. Nothing on the FedEx site. However, on Simpletracking, something showed up called "Package Status" whatever that means.

 

Depends on the status of when your package left.
