Lol, I really don't care THAT much. I'm not doing anything today, so I kind of wanted it just to mess around with. Tomorrow I'll be wakeboarding all day, and Sunday I'll probably be chilling with some friends. Then Monday I'm busy all day too, and I have orientation Tuesday and Wednesday.

So, it's either I got it today and could play with it today, or I'll have to wait until Wednesday night to play with it. I suppose it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but with nothing to do but watch low-quality Richard Feynman lectures and browse NBR all day, I'd rather do it on the envy.

 

Meh, I felt the delay pain when I ordered on 30% BCB - waiting now doesn't bother me in the slightest - I'm not even planning on opening it unless my Canadian friend wants to buy it from me, in which case I'll open it up and make sure that everything's in good shape with no issues like processor whine, ketchup on the keyboard, or caramel in the ODD.

 

Weird how much our situations have paralleled here. I have a class of new hires to train this coming week, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If I didn't get mine in time to set it up, and install software over the weekend, I'll be out of luck time-wise until at least Wednesday night, or Thursday Morning.

 

Yeah, I'm sending this one back too. So I'm not really going to be too attached to it. I called up HP to ask if there was any benefit to them if I kept the box sealed, and they said no...so I plan on just getting a feel for it.

Lol to the last two potential problems. ^_^

 

Yeah, it sucks. But in a few months we probably won't even think twice about the 4-5 days we were without an envy. (unless we have some God-forsaken reason to call HP customer support, then all anger will break loose again.) Best of luck to you in this situation.

 

They should really change our estimated dates already. Keeping it at the 16th is just mean.

For those of you who had your Envy on hold because it missed the flight, and want the laptop really really really really really bad and don't want to wait until Monday, I just called Fedex, and they told me that it will be shipped out tonight, and will be at my local Fedex facility early in the morning..but they don't ship on weekends. So I asked if i could do a pick up, and she told me that there is no way I can pick it up because HP has a restriction on these packages. BUT she said I could call HP and have them waive out the restriction so that I can pick it up.

So I call HP, and the guy, Daniel, told me that he would be glad to get rid of the restriction, and asked which facility I would like to get it shipped to. Now, I don't know if he was saying this to get good ratings on the survey, but he said that he would call Fedex and have them send mine by tonight.

Fedex said that my package should be there early in the morning, and I just called my local Fedex facility, and they told me that they are open 24 HOURS!!! And I had two of them to choose from since their distance from me was the same, and i chose the right one.

Now, this is the last time I'm getting my hopes up...if I don't get my package by tomorrow morning as promised, HP will be receiving calls from a very angry asian male. LOL...jk I wouldn't do that xD I'll just be really really depressed that I don't get to play with my new baby over the weekend.

 

Huh? Why would you be excited if UPS came by? All the laptops are shipped via FedEx. Stop being retarded and be sane.

I called 18889994747, but then he transferred me to some other guy...but just tell them that you want to waive the restriction they gave fedex that "they must be delivered, and cannot be picked up", so that you can pick it up because you really really really really want it, and mention that it was delayed.

 

I know man. I'm losing it LOL

totally with you there krn. i slept on the couch next to the door incase i woke up late i could still ear the doorbell. now my package is on the cute little truck headed my way. i better go put on some pants.

 

Woo. Mine's out for delivery. It's scheduled to be here by noon, then I'll have 4-5 hours to run a clean install before I run off to catch a plane to Japan. They really pulled this thing close, but at least it looks like they'll pull through for me.

I have yet to receive mine yet, but it says it should be delivered today. By my estimate I'll get it around ~2:00 to 5:00 pm today. Grr...was hoping FedEx would arrive at 10:00 AM...oh well.

Just tried that and he said that Fedex couldnt do it because it might not ship tonight.

just so every1 feels bad for me i ordered on the 30th, and i got delayed until the 23rd ... but now i just checked the hp order page and it said that it was shipped out on the 13th, and that it should arrive the 20th.. so i dont know what to expect. Right now it says Shipment exception in Alaska since the 15th... Hmm maybe it could come today or monday?


edit-- now from lookiing at my account i got a 23 dollar credit that was processed back to me. and i got a 25$ gift card in an email from them .. pretty cool. they must have done it twice or something when i called about the processor prices changing. what should i spend the 25 dollar gift card on?

I spent a good half hour trying the waiver thing. They told me it would take 2-3 business days to process that request (BS i know), so i guess ill just have to wait till monday. Well, the fedex website does say its supposed to get here today at 4:30 still, but also says it never left alaska. That would be one fast plane...

 

AHHH! I thought my package made it on the flight last night, but I just called fedex and they said its still in Anchorage and will be delivered on Monday. I ordered the hour of release on the 27th too. No worries for me though, this is the one I'm sending back to HP as I got a better one coming through BCB.

 

I wish they'd just change my eta to monday already

Int'l shipment release in ANCHORAGE, AK means that most probably won't get here...

 

Has anyone actually received their laptop whose tracking initially stated "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" but also received "Int'l shipment release-ANCHORAGE, AK" earlier this morning? I'm just trying to figure out if my package is still in Alaska or not.
