Update: got a "Delivery exception" because apparently nobody was around to sign for the package when it arrived. However, that indicates that they actually did try to deliver it today, which could be promising for some of you guys who were hoping to have them in your hands today.

 

what part of cali may i ask. im in the oc area....mines still comjng in from oakland since 1am...dont think it will be coming til monday morning i hope.

 

North of Sac-town. To be fair, mine's a pretty small town that happens to have a pretty small airport, so the plane that carried it was probably also pretty small, allowing the shipments to be sorted rather quickly. If yours left Oakland at 1 AM, on its way to OC, no less, one would assume that it flew, and it's just not been scanned out yet since it's probably part of a rather large shipment.

 

what are the chances of hp shipping out all of our laptops that are expected to be built this week on monday again?

that was great. my first one was suppose to be built on thursday but it was pushed forward to monday with many others. im hoping this happens again for my second one.

 

That would be too terrific to hope for. If my second one (the one I'm keeping) ships on the scheduled shipping date, I will probably be out of town again when it arrives. If the 2-day shipping thing works out like it should, mine needs to ship by Tuesday to get to me before I leave for the weekend, otherwise it might as well ship a day late and get to me a week from Monday.

^lol. Ya, they probably opened it up to check for weapons of mass destruction. I wouldn't be surprised if your laptop arrived with everything taken apart.

No. it just means that they matched the invoice information, with the shipping info from HP. They do not open packages in customs, unless there is a reason to search them.

 

I picked up one of these for ~$195 shipped after 30% BCB. Should make a decent 2nd monitor, if not it's going up in the bathroom.

Got a BCB question for you guys.

I was part of the group that clicked on the link that said 5% and the popup showed 30% when we logged in, but only received 5% in my BCB account.

I opened a ticket with Bing and they replied 2 days later saying sorry, you can only get 5% back. Not wanting to hassle with them more, I called HP to cancel my order since I didn't really want $1900 sitting on my credit card. They informed me they would try to cancel it, but based on what stage of production it was in the chances were slim they could.

In the mean time I decided to talk to Bing some more since it looked like I was getting the laptop. Last night I received a message from HP stating my order was canceled, and you guessed it, this morning Bing wrote me and said I was credited the full 30%.

My question to you guys is what can I do at this point, I called HP and said there was nothing I could do from there end, and I'd have to contact Bing and explain the situation. Before I did that I wanted to ask your guys opinion since I don't know much about BCB.

My BCB now shows 2 things:
The original 5%


and a customer service refund of the balance (25% of original purchase)



So right now I have a couple of options I guess:

• Email Bing to see if they will apply the refund to a new order
• See if they don't cancel the ~$450 refund since it has a different purchase ID, order the laptop in 55 days once I get the refund

I am worried if I contact Bing they will just say "Sorry, out of luck!"

What do you guys think my odds are?

There were several people getting these out of sync messages yesterday. If it says "cleared regulatory agency", then you're through customs, and just waiting on Fedex to put the package on a plane.

I had the same experience yesterday, I called HP and Fedex about this issue yesterday afternoon, and got the same story from each of them. Then, mine was put on a plane a few hours after the out of sync messages showed up in my Fedex tracker. But, of course that was on a Friday (weekday), and now its the weekend. So, your experience may differ.

 

What was the status of your package immediately before "delivery exception"?

they dont deliver on weekends for most of us anyways =/ mine left oakland about 10 hours ago...its still in transit, hasnt gotten to the fedex facility.

Mine is at a sort facility an hour away, but I know they don't allow package pickups there. I guess Tuesday it'll have to be.

 

I'm afraid you're probably out of luck. The HP order will still be running through the factory, and it's probably cheaper for them to reverse the cancellation process if it's possible than sell it as a refurb (though it might just be reassigned to another customer who orders the same config). Don't be afraid to be a total pest to them until they either reverse the cancellation or get a high-level sales manager to personally tell you that sorry there is no way that can be done without creating a new order and thus voiding the BCB. I'd say your odds are probably not very good, maybe 25% at best.

You might increase your chances if you bother BCB's reps as well - if you can only reorder from HP, you could call the BCB reps and tell them that it was their slow and inconsistent customer service (telling you no but acceding to your request later) that caused you to put yourself in this situation in the first place. If you play the squeaky wheel enough with both customer service centers, I'd say you've got about a 50/50 chance of getting your way.

well, a person earlier lives somewhere around norcal as well, and they got theirs delivered as well, but they werent home either.

 

My Envy left Memphis at 6:19 AM (their time). It's supposed to be heading to SoCal. Not sure why Fedex would ship it from Anchorage to Memphis, but whatever.

I can't seem to find a plane it may be on (to Oakland or LA, the latter being the closest). Would they really send it on a truck from Memphis to CA?

Inefficient Fedex is inefficient.

 

I blocked out my city, sure, but with the local sorting facility being in Sacto, it's not hard to figure that I'm in Norcal. I appreciate you looking out for my interests, but it's not a big deal in this case.

That was me . The earlier posts were to indicate that it was listed as being on the truck for delivery, the later ones were to confirm that, unless FedEx is pulling an elaborate hoax on me, it actually was on the truck, rather than being a scanning error.

 

Why are all the estimates for the 20th? Does fedex not deliver mondays?

Mine shows as estimated for the 20th even though it as my local Fedex facility a few miles from my house. I called them up to try and pick it up but they said it was in a container so I couldn't but that it would be delivered on Monday. The 20th is just an estimate.

 

Well, mine has just finally made it to my destination sort facility (DFW Airport). I found out from talking to Fedex that they actually trucked it down from Memphis, which is why it took so long to get here, after departing from Memphis at 6:45 am this morning.

However, (there's always one of these, isn't there?) she told me that whether or not it would be delivered Monday, would depend entirely on what time it gets to, and gets unpacked at, my local Fedex office (in my little town of Addison, TX). <sigh>

 

mine has been "departed" from oakland since 1am this morning....its only a 7h drive to oc....dunno why its not there yet =/

I just called Fedex to see where my package is, they said the last scan was in LA...which is good news! Since it is much closer to where I live than Oakland! (Online it shows that the package is still in Oakland!)

Still no update from the Memphis departure at 6:19 AM.

 

All you hav to do is call Fedex, and they will tell you exactly where it's at. Mine still says departed from Oakland, but really it's in LA!

 

I just got a $50 price match on the slice- are there any other reasons I can get money back? (besides delays- my ship date is the 22nd)
I'm not comfortable doing things like asking for $100 to not cancel my order.

 

then there is nothing else to call about lol. BCB is over, so you cant really call to price match that.

 

You can legitimately ask to change a config, then they'll say no and give you money so you won't cancel to change it. Usually they'll do it without you asking if you need to cancel.

On another point, do you guys think they'll give any more discounts on the sleeve? (If we didn't get one to begin with)

Mine left memphis at 3:55am. It got to seattle at 5:55am. I have no clue how this is possible. I think their scanner guns are smoking something if you know what I'm sayin...
