    For those that have recieved a shipping notice, did you order any accessories? It is possible that you will get two shipments, the accessories and then the laptop. The shipping notice will refer to the same order. I wonder if that is what is really occurring?

    i ordered the first day it was available. (my original shipment day was the 7th. i was notified on the 8th that my new shipment day would be the 9th.)

    I just got the delay notification....ordered it on the 28th.
    500 GB HDD, 4 GB 1 Dimm.

    "...The revised estimated ship date for your order is 7/12/2010 or no later than 10 business days from the original estimated ship date..."

    This was after calling up and speaking with someone just this afternoon who assured me that it had ALREADY shipped and just hadn't been updated yet. Oh well, I'll get the case...gonna call to get free shipping for it tmrw.

    I ordered on the 28th but still haven't received any notification :(. I'm thinking about calling tomorrow to get $100 credit + 2 day shipping free. What do you guys think? Too ambitious? If so, I'll just settle for 2 day shipping.

    I was trying to get some credit earlier today, but if it hasn't showed up on your account yet, then they don't have record of it and will probably tell you that it is not delayed. The rep I talked with hadn't even heard of the delays. So, since your account doesn't have the tag, that's definitely too ambitious.

    I'm going to try for 2 day shipping tmrw and just a $25 credit instead of the coupon...I have a laptop backpack, so the sleeve is pretty pointless. I don't really need to give HP any more money..

    You will. It's shipping through UPS, so no avoiding it. Won't know for sure until it arrives, but have never had a package received from UPS from the US, that I didn't have to pay duties on.

    Bottom line, though: the total cost is a lot cheaper than what you would pay for in Canada. Not to mention that the only Canadian model listed by HP, has the lower screen resolution and lower CPU:

    thought u guys might appreciate this i asked an HP rep if my order was still on time because of all the delays ive been hearing about and this is what followed (supposed to ship on the 15th)
    "Kyle R : Thank you for your time and patience.
    Greg:no problem
    Kyle R : You will receive the PC on 15 of this month.
    Greg: receive?
    Greg: online says ship on the 15th...

    Got an email from HP notifying me that my order has been delayed from shipping on the 8th to the 12th, and another one with a $25 coupon for the store, valid through the end of the month.

    Everyone else having the same issue? Anyone know of anything worth ordering with the coupon?

    they're backordered on a part.

    apparently the ssd computers are shipping on the 9th or shipped.

    the hdd ones...not so much. (but how could hp run out of hdds. gasdj;lk)

    also there's really nothing to use that coupon on.

    I mean the sleeve if you want (coupon stacks with academic discount)

    ..'course then the shipping is more than the sleeve.

    i just ordered a sleeve using the coupon in the email. it stacked fine with the academic discount. indeed, the shipping costs more than the sleeve but $10 is pretty nice.

    just have them credit it back to your account, at first they said no, but the only accessory i said i would be interested in was the dr dre headphones lol, so they checked and said they would credit it. Though they did offer the 25 plus another 20 off the headphones

    I have a 1-time use coupon for $10 off a $50 or more ITEM. I got it for signing up for the HP academy, but strangely, HP won't let me use this coupon with the academic discount or the $25 coupon they sent for the delay of my order.

    I'll accept poems as to why someone wants it...my favorite within a specific amount of time (ending sometime today) will get the code. :) If you could post them and PM them, that'd be great. Or, if you just want to PM it that'd be cool too. I don't want to search through the 20 pages of repeat questions that will show up when I vacate my computer.

    Hm, I'm on the phone w/ HP (again) and she told me that there was a problem with one of the parts when they were testing, and they're trying to get them fully working.

    BS, bad planning, or what? I'm under the impression that it's the HDD, which imo should be pretty hard (pun intended) to mess up.

    edit- I've about had it. Every rep I've talked to won't give me $25 credit. I've tried the nice guy approach and the angry tone approach. How did you all manage it? She "expedited" my shipping, but wouldn't even give me free shipping for the $25 order.

    Jeez, I just did a live chat to try to get some money back. I first complained that I had ordered the 520 for $100 more than an equal processor and asked if I could change the order, knowing full well I couldn't, but she said it was "already in the production" lol and couldn't be changed. I said it was too expensive and threatened to cancel and asked if there was anything that could be done, but she said she was sorry and she couldn't do anything. Even threw the " :(" at her lol but she wouldn't budge! Maybe I should call, because that sucked

    Calling didn't help for me at all...perhaps you'll have better luck. I've only spoken with one true America-sounding person, and that was when I ordered it...that was the conversation that made the most sense. The others just went around in circles.

    I don't get it. Why are some people's orders shipping, and others not? I ordered my Envy 14 on the morning of June 27th. But people who ordered on the 28th have gotten shipment notification already?

    I wonder if it has to do with certain configurations?

    I know they can't help the accent, and they sure as heck can speak English better than I can speak their native tongue. It's just that I have not had any pleasant transactions when speaking with a non-English native. I don't know if that's just because I ordered with the English native or what...
    Nonetheless, I've not been pleased with HP customer service.

    Yeah I ordered on the 28th and got my notification at around 9 PM (EST Time). Probably has to do with lack of HDD's as others have said. They probably have an abundance of SDD's....wish I had $300 to spare to buy one :( ...oh well-two more years and I'll upgrade.

    Sorry to spam the board, everyone, but I thought you all would find this amusing.

    I ordered the primary battery + the slice for $200 when I configured my E14. Several people pointed out yesterday that, based on the part# in the E14 Maintenance & Service Manual, the slice is actually being sold by HP for $150. So, as many of you suggested, I called to get the $50 back for the price difference. Here's what I got:

    "Yes. I've confirmed the $150 part through the HP Parts Store is the same part you ordered with your configured Envy 14. Unfortunately we and the HP Parts Store are two separate and distinct entities. Therefore, we are unable to issue a price match at this time, since this is a different vendor."

    Huh? Ok, MAYBE they're separate entities, but they won't price match another vendor's price?

    Well, I said that was ridiculous, asked her to escalate things to her supervisor, and then she caved for the $50 refund. A little more nonsense than I expected based on previous dealings, but it got done.
