wow that is rediculous. You should definitely call HP and try to get credited.

 

It might get delayed because you add the 2 year warranty on the 27th. I was a analyst with one of the .com company and I tell you, the systems sometimes doesnt communicate well with each others. I Think what happened once you add something, it might push the E14 order as it were ordered on the 27th.

When did you order yours?Did you change/add something to the order?

I'm sure they do. Maybe their goal is to get this shipped into US to 1 single location (I think its alaska) then shipped to the rest of the state.

My 7/12 order was shipped and I'm in North Carolina. Should be here Wed, had a 7/23 build date.

 

so does anybody know it takes to get from Anchorage, Alaska to the contingent states? I remember people having theirs on delay in Alaska for about 3 days or so (due to HP missing proper paperwork). Hopefully it wont happen to us or else I want some offers from HP

 

My dv6tse spent around 3 hours in Alaska. Just depends on timing with other flights going out and a smooth pass through customs.

 

Tracking info finally showed up. Est. delivery July 29, before the original SHIP DATE even was.

This pleasant surprise better not be tempered with various other less pleasant surprises come time when I actually get the laptop...

Just spoke with HP about the delay, my frustration with later orders being prioritized over mine and the inconvenience this has caused for me and my plans and all they gave me was attitude. So I said some things that I will not repeat here as it would probably get me banned. Now I am contemplating canceling my order.

 

People, relax.

Three months from now when you have been using that beautiful shiny box for quite some time, are you really going to be saying "Damn! I wish I would have gotten that a day/week/etc earlier!"

Of course not. But as dim and distant as the next week or two are, fret not, the day will arrive.

 

It has nothing to do with waiting, I needed this for the trip I am about to take and now due to the delay it will be delivered while I am gone.

 

LOL. Some people are just really excited. And some of us are on a tight schedule. One delay is all it takes to really mess up my plans and create extra work and stress.

 

I called fedex and HP yesterday regarding my 7/12 order and they told me no package/laptop have been shipped. Today I get the confirmation email that delivery will be on the 28th......kinda weird... I lost my excitement for the laptop. I am thinking about selling the envy 14 once it arrives. Do you guys think it will sell for $1,000 not including shipping. The only upgrade is the processor to I- 540.

 

what made you change your mind?

 

you dont need to resell it you can simply return it for a full refund.

 

So does any one think HP stepped up there QC for us second batchers? And at least tried a little harder to make sure all our envys went out perfect?

I am an impulsive buyer. I own a sager np8662 upgraded to a quadcore q9100 and 260gtx. Kinda dissapointed that the envy 14 will perform about 60%~70% compared to my sager.

Is that different way to track it? Standard tracking method isn't that detailed!

 

flightaware is just a way to track flights. After anchorage, our envys might go to memphis or oakland depending on whats more economical for fedex. If it goes to memphis, for me at least, then it'll fly to Oakland. For socal people from oakland it'll fly to socal.

 

How did you guys know which flight to choose?

 

it seems they are basing this assumption on the belief that there is only one plane flying from shanghai to alaska. i don't know for sure though but it's a very intuitive way of tracking if it works

 

you are correct! there's only 1 fedex flight between shanghai and anchorage. and plus the times match up

Does fedex work thorugh the weekends?
I thought nothing happens on sat and sun..

 

I know, right? I was really impressed myself. Pretty neat if you ask me.


But it makes sense. Get all the overseas heavy lifting done on the weekends and do all the door to door deliveries on weekdays. Judging from the amount of stuff we import from China, that route is probably packed 24/7.

 

Just no deliveries. Some people are probably earning their overtime on the weekends.

^ no home deliveries on the weekends (except special saturday deliveries), but i believe all the transit stuff is ongoing 7 days a week

 

Am I just mildly nerdy or completely going overboard by having my FedEx tracking, simple tracking, and Flight #28 tracking favorited on my Google Chrome's bookmarks bar?

I'm personally considering the customs clearance stage the final hurdle. As I earlier said, all it takes is one delay to complicate my situation.

 

No....... You're really nerdy but not overbaordly nerdy.. I think overboard would be:

you flying to Alaska to watch your package go through sorting and then begging for a seat on the cargo plane - not in a seat, but rather in the cargo bay next to your lappy in a box - to where ever it goes next.. And then staring at your box while a lady scans it and you say - please miss lady.. Use that scanning gun gently my (place a name here that you would call your girlfriend or wife) doesnt like loud beeps and lasers. And then when it's finally time to deliver you beg the guy who drives the fedex truck to sit shotgun with him In his truck while offer him some coffee in exchange for a rope that's tied to your lappy box and ends ties around your wrist till you and your lappy finally get delivered to your home... Haha! Now I would consider that a little overboard! Hahaha!!

And don worry I have all that bookmarked too!

Wow, my Envy isn't even finished being built. Everyone who ordered on the 12th and got delayed isn't going to be ready to ship until the 27th... So we might have to wait till the first week of August for it to arrive... Unless they actually upgrade all of us to 2 day shipping then we may get it on the 30th. This is unacceptable.
