Hell, no one really knows. I'll quote my example from earlier.

I ordered on July 20th, with an estimated ship date of August 2nd. A user in this thread ordered July 19th (I don't recall their estimated ship date), but their Envy 14 was built and shipped out on July 23rd.

I'm hoping mine will ship tomorrow, if I'm lucky...

It makes me no less jealous.

 

Anyone know what flight the ones that departed at 3:00pm are on? I cant seem to find on that tracker website

i wonder if those who had their laptop delayed until 'tuesday' will get lucky and have it ship out monday. hp seems to like to ship them out on mondays and i doubt their sweat shop takes the weekend off. though they might not have gotten those ever elusive pieces they were lacking to make our laptops yet.

I asked hp if its possible that they will ship out on monday and she said 'sorry but its impossible'. but then again we know to take everything they say with a grain of salt.

if they do indeed ship out on monday then we will probably get them by friday

So close, yet so far. Hope it sneaks on a delivery truck tomorrow. Too bad I cant just go there and pick it up, err, to save them fuel and help out the environment (ignore the gas spent on a special trip there) .

 

I'm just annoyed that HP left the 22nd build date up.

Oh wow you too? My envy was supposed to ship on July 22nd also but I got the delayed shipment email with July 27 as the new estimated ship date. Pretty annoying since I ordered on July 12.

My specs are i5-520, 500GB HD, 8GB RAM, and a slice battery.

I hope this thing gets shipped out by Tuesday.

Processor maybe? Did you get a slice battery also?

 

I dont think its the CPU I think it might have been the 500GB hard drive or possibly the slice battery which yeah I bought as well.

At least our envys are probably already built and ready to ship.

Whoa. If I spent 2k, I'd probably go for the Vaio Z. $1700, i5-520m, 128GB SSD, 1600x900 13.3", 4GB RAM, DVDRW. Especially considering the nerfed HD 5650 is now ~ GT 330m.

As a matter of fact, if my Envy really sucks, I may just go that route. Plus you can get $300 if you trade in a Pentium 2GHz or faster laptop with it. It has to work and have a legal OS installed. But people have been finding them for $50-$75 on ebay or craigslist. So even $200-$250 off...

 

Great news. My Envy 14 arrived at the Destination sort facility in Atlanta, GA from Memphis, TN. I'm hoping to get my package before my estimated delivery date of the 28th!

 

Ahhhh, mine has made it to Seattle. Now only about 25 miles from me. I ordered on the 13th, and scheduled delivery is Wednesday the 28th. Being as it's now in Seattle and so close to me, I bet it shows up no later than Tuesday, and hopefully tomorrow!

yeah i used the flightaware website and saw that my plane from memphis to san diego had landed 6 hours ago and no status update. hopefully i will get a nice knock on the door from the fedex guy tomorrow

 

Damn, I get my envy in just a matter of days and just 15 mins in the gaming thread and I've already got thoughts about sending the laptop back to hp. Why cant hp get their act together.

 

In short, what's the problem?

 

It's a ongoing investigation, but it seems that HP bundled the e14 with bottom bin gpu's. They are clocked 100mhz slower than the dv6se, so alot of games that are supposed to be running at 30+ fps are falling short of being smooth and falling short of being a premium experience.

The board is organizing to have hp address the problem, hopefully it can be mitigated slightly with a bios update to up the voltage and clock, but people are pretty peeved.

{edit} Don't let me be a debbie downer though. Everyone should enjoy their shiny new toys as if its Christmas (Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.) It's just I've only owned hp computers and I have watched their products steadily decline in quality. I am still super psyched about my new envy, and can't wait till I get it in my hands. I'll make my own opinions, and I sure hope it proves to me hp has still got its bag of tricks. If not, well, we'll cross that bridge when it gets here.

 

Hopefully all it requires is just a BIOS update and that restoring the clock speed to 550mhz won't make things hotter.

 

Same. We just keep finding more and more problems with the Envy. I thought it was a great purchase until I found out about the possible cpu whine, the low end gpu, and the delay.

 

This is how it was for the m11x too. Doesn't surprise me at all, and should always be expected for any new tech purchases.
