*Quasi-Official ENVY 14 discounts, delays, "mine is shipping" lounge*

Well, you'll be laughing when we end up getting ours next week and you have it by Friday.

 

While we're crying in our dark little corners.

 

I thought about it but at this point I'd rather just let it be. If I can get it by Friday great, otherwise Monday is fine with me also.

I'm just happy that all of us who were delayed got our orders shipped within a reasonable amount of time. Only thing left now is to worry about the QC on our notebooks lol.

Well Friday would be great so I can have the weekend to set up my Envy and do a clean install, but I'm just going to wait to see what Fed Ex's estimated ship date is before I get excited lol. If not I can try and pick mine up as the overnight, 2-day and 3-day air distribution center for Fed Ex is literally 5 minutes from my house.

 

Well, unfortunately I missed the 30% BCB, so right now I can tell you (if you are like me - haven't bought your Envy yet) that two options are available:
-Using eBay with 8% BCB (buy a configurable machine, you will not have to pay taxes I think, but it will take at least 2-3 weeks to get it)
-MrRebates.com - 5% cashback+LOGIC50 coupon, free shipping from HP.com

Anyone has something better?

 

There is, of course, the HP Academy 10% discount. Unfortunately, you still pay taxes.

It's what I used. I believe you just need a valid educational institution email.

 

I am not a college student yet...However I have a US HighSchool email address..you think, that's gonna work?

 

Considering people were discussing earlier how they were able to register for HPA without even being in college, it probably will work.

out of interest, if i want the 4gb 1 dimm ram should i go for it? I want the chances of recieving a lemon as low as possible as i live in the UK and there's no way i'd be able to send it into hp USA and recieve it again without getting hit by customs for a good £200ish...

Most users didn't bother with getting the single RAM DIMM. Plus, the majority of the lemons are physical defects to the machine's chassis.

I ordered July 12th, estimated was July 22nd, then delayed until July 29th, but it shipped out a couple hours ago (or will soon).

If HP decides to sell it later, I might consider it (if I can get it cheaper than $200). It's a wonderful and innovative feature that virtually no other laptops have, but $200 is too much for me.

Still no shipping information on my FedEx tracking page. I'm wondering how long it'll be until it appears in their system.

Eh, I don't see why it's unlikely. It seems like all the Envy 14s that previously shipped had tracking notices sent out when the plane was taking off.

Well, actually I think the planes went to Alaska first, but that is part of the U.S., so...

 

It's $150 in the parts store, you could add whatever accessories you want to push the order up to $200 if you got the $50 off $200 coupon (for delays)

Well, mine was never delayed. I ordered on July 20th, it actually shipped early, as HP's website said the estimated ship date was August 2nd.

Do you have a link to the Envy 14 slice battery in the parts store? I know someone ordered what was supposedly an Envy 14 slice, but I don't know if they confirmed whether or not it actually was.

ah yes just as i had hoped. it is expected to arrive friday man that is fast i guess hp wasnt lying when they said they rush delayed orders. too bad i already redirected my order. i wonder if i can redirect it again while its being shipped.

 

Ordered 7/21 with an expected build date of 8/3. But i got an e-mail this morning (7/27) that it had shipped!

 

Got my ship notice this morning! FedEx shows it with a delivery date of Friday, July 30th. Very exciting!!

 

OH now if that's what the issue is, then I'd say it's ok. Mine is the same way and didn't notice it until I finally saw the pic. I thought it was "overflush" as in sticking up a bit.

 

mines was at my house yesterday while i was at work and my brother was asleep so he didnt open the door for the fed ex guy

 

Mine allowed an "indirect signature" meaning you can leave a signed note at your door for them to leave it there or wherever on your premesis. I put a note out there even though I was going to be home in case I was in the back yard or something. These FedEx guys and gals don't wait long, so if you're in the bathroom, napping, basement, outside, whatever, you won't even have a chance to intercept them!

 

mines allows for that too but i dont trust a 1,300 being left at my door. id rather wait and make sure someone is there to bring it inside. Ups usually leaves the package in the upstairs apartment but i guess fed ex doesn't do that. I will be working again today so i have to hope my brother will open the door.

 

on the FedEx truck for delivery! can't wait till I get the call from the receptionist to head up to the mail room to pick it up!!

and there's the problem, you walk in and but something or order it and it ships right away, and it has a few small issues you say "oh well, it's still a great machine". on the other hand they make you wait A MONTH to get the thing and your expectations go up exponentially. fair or not it's human nature and something that HP would do well to think about on future product releases....not that they will

 

Don't feel bad. I just found out my laptop missed the plane, or something. "Package received after FedEx cutoff," according to my tracking page.

Now it's listed to not arrive until August 3rd. Just my luck.

how did that happen!? I ordered on 7/13 with an estimated ship date of 7/23 and it just shipped today

 

wow talk about a swift kick in coconuts. it JUST said the 30th and got my hopes up now it says the 3rd? so much for that 2 day shipping they promised us.
