hmm, i hade ordered mine at 15th, and got estimated building date by 27th July. shipping was standart free.so i thought i'll get it at near of 2-3 of August
but i have received mine right on 27th !

FedEx tracking lists my Envy 14 as "in transit" in or out of Anchorage, Alaska.

SimpleTracking lists it as "held at sort facility" in Anchorage, Alaska.

It seems like my updates have come in staggered and delayed from FedEx... I guess I can't be sure though.

 

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing. I hope it already left Alaska and is on its way to Memphis, if it isn't already there, but it is taking forever. It seems like it's just sitting in Alaska... hopefully that's not the case though.

 

Yeah, I hope not. There's no possible way we'll get them Friday if that is the case.

Unfortunately, they probably are still sitting there...

I notice you picked up the X25-M and the slice battery, so you should be fully loaded. I don't know if you've used an SSD before, but they're pretty amazing. I'm an SSD user myself, and after going back to a hard drive, this is painfully slow.

I have my OCZ Vertex 60GB sitting in its box over there, brand new. I had to RMA it to OCZ after it had a bad firmware flash when I was trying to update. Unlike HP, OCZ's customer service is pretty much #1 in the industry, and an administrator on OCZ's forum cleared me for an RMA within a half hour, and I ended up getting a new one in less than a week after I sent mine back. Just a little customer support story for you.

Anyways, I'll be cramped for space with 60GB. I normally made due in my desktop as I have my 1.5TB storage drive with all my music and large games on it. Pretty much the only things on my SSD were Windows, my applications, and a couple games.

With 160GB of storage, you should be good to go. Maybe sometime down the line I will upgrade my SSD if they get cheaper. I'm also considering taking out the optical drive in my Envy 14. I'll have to see how much I actually use it.

 

I hope it does amaze me as it'll be my first ssd.

 

Okay, for giggles, I figured I'd try out FlightAware. Here is my current FedEx tracking page:



Now, after checking FlightAware for flights from Anchorage, Alaska to Memphis, Tennessee, here's what we have:



According to FlightAware, three flights have left (and arrived in Memphis) between now and the time our Envy 14s arrived in Anchorage.

So unless our Envy 14s were on one of those flights, we can assume they are still in Alaska.

 

Hm... it might be the 2 day shipping packages or did those already come earlier?

 

I'm not sure. If someone with 2 day shipping can post their tracking page, we could probably figure it out.

 

Mine is the same, still in transit, with 2 day shipping, but it is still on time and will arrive by friday at 10:30AM.

 

Apparently my envy has been shipped...5 days earlier than estimated!!!

when you guys get your envys, i want to tell you now to go into the trackpad discussion page. Get the addon thing someone made. Made me like the touchpad, when i was using a mouse almost for everything.
