haha i the posted the 100th reply to this thread!![]()
So just to let you know, i ended up buying the hp dv6000t.![]()
-
can i use both Student Discount and Coupons to reduce the price ?
-
-
I would just buy from an authorized online dealer. You don't have to pay tax then (at most sites) and they're usually ~$100 cheaper to begin with for the Smart Buy models than direct from HP. Just bought a nc8430 from Newegg for $1612 total (would have been ~$1700 from HP direct after discounts).
-
but the coupons seems to be much more than the rebate -
-
So, I customize an HP dv2000t with the following price:
price: $1,745.99
instant savings: $100.00
main-in rebate: $50.00
price: $1,595.99
Logging into APP and using the same customizations gets me down to $1,491.23.
Now, if I use the $200 (off of a purchase of $999+ on an HP pavilion notebook) coupon (which expires on the 24th), that should turn my $100 instant savings into $200, resulting in an additional $100 off, thus bringing my total to $1,391.23, correct?
(I think this should be added to the original post here so that future buyers don't have to look through 11 pages of posts)
Should the coupon code not work for some reason (and I know you enter it in before finalizing your purchase), is it gonna put my order through without the code or will it give me a chance to retry or cancel my order? -
Yes, its a case of whichever discount is larger. AFAIK, you should be able to check the coupon without actually placing an order. Although they ask for the coupon code during checkout, there is another confirmation page befrore the order gets placed.
-
thank you!!!!
-
does anyone know if there will be any $200 off on hp customizable models anytime soon?

I don't think you can combine the coupon with your APP discount. At least, I couldn't.
-
Is everyone sure you cant combine APP and the $200 off? I was planning on doing this myself
-
Coupon no longer works
-
It works through the 21st.
-
Coupon ended early
-
thanks for this info. Prices are great now

Has anyone figured how to get a working combination to get EPP discount and the 15% coupon code? I've been skimming through guides and they say it's possible but I'll lose all instant rebates which I'm fine with since I'll be saving more overall.
-
opps
i just bought dv6226tx yesterday in 59,000 INR/-
will it be more cheap then it to me via discount? -
This is only for USA HP right? i'm from Australia too bad can't use the discount thingy
-
I just finished my undergrad, graduated last month. Do you guys think I can sign up for the student discount? Does HP check with the schools?
-
how often do the coupons come along? I want to order my 6500t sometime this month, but figured i'd check how often they came along.
-
is it me or did app discount go down to 6%????
-
-
Does anyone know how the government EPP discount compares to the business EPP discount? I priced a dv9500t out using both my company's EPP discount and a family member's educational discount (the APP), and it came to the exact same amount. Would the government discount be the same as well?
Also, how to people think the $150 "instant rebate," discounted upgrade to 2GB and free upgrade to lightscribe they're currently offering with the dv9500t compare to what they've offered in the past? Is it worth holding out for better "freebies"? -
-
If one just finished college (month ago) is it still possible to use discounts?
What about K-12 students?
Thanks -
Most likely, you cannot. HP keeps track of student information from my understanding, and works to verify each order.
-
Any UK codes?
-
Do any of these coupons work for residents of Canada?

Thanks Ivan -

-
-
dunno if this is right thread but, i was wondering do you guys think there will be good hp dv6500t coupons coming out soon and do you think they will be taking away the
# 75% off upgrade to 2GB memory from 1GB
# Free upgrade to 120GB hard drive from 80GB
# Free upgrade to LightScribe from Super multi drive
# 50% off Discrete Graphics

when the coupons come out? (if they do)
I was wondering whether it will be good to buy the laptop now or wait for coupons to come out if they do
oo and when you use the student discount, will the $100 off instant add up too
Thx -
Can I apply the 20% off coupon with APP? Does it apply after or before instant rebate? before or after tax?
-
20% coupon is invalid w/ APP (I tried). It is before tax, and doesn't apply to warranty or add-ons (ac adapters, etc.)
-
What is the 20% coupon?
-
