Woah, the dell looks great. Hope it has good specs and a cheap price.
-
the Dell will be available with gt630m and gt640m both with gddr5, full hd matte display with gorrilla glass ( i don't know how to have glass with matte). but this is sort of off-topic.
-
-
If it's gddr5 640m then it won't be far off from the 650m or 660m. After all they all use the same core.
-
-
True, but they could disable cores with the 650m and 660m too. I don't think it'll be that big of a difference from the 650m coming with the next dv6 to make or break choosing one over the other.
-
lol dude i want there to be competition b/w the two so we get better, faster, cheaper products
-
Looks pretty good, too bad he didn't press on the back-lit keyboard key
I hope a GDDR5 2GB version of the GT 650m will be available on the dv6 -
Question: Radiance Backlit or normal backlit?
-
No numpad on that Dell?
-
Have not had much experience with Dell customer service tho so I'd def have to do research in that arena... -
-
it's a dutch site, so you will have to translate but it says everything here. -
GT 640M with GDDR5???
-
on the video (italian) they say GT 630M with DDR3 -
-
Was referring to the Dutch source on the Dell XPS.
-
yes, it says gt 640 with 1gb gddr5

i through someone have found that but it seems not. -

Design and features are pretty the same as the Pavilion dv6-7000 -
I have yet to see any pictures or videos of the dv6/7 with the backlit keyboard enabled. Is there any more proof that these models will feature a backlit keyboard besides a couple of photos with an F# key that appears to be a backlit keyboard button?
-
Specs didn't mention backlit keyboard at all.
-
-
I think it is an option because there is nothing on the f5 key not even an other logo. and since in the hp video it shows an backlit logo on the f5 key.
-
Guess this means the back-lit is an option -
-
-
The backlit keyboard on/off toggle is on the f5 button. You can see it in the video. HP might make some stupid decisions, i.e. unresponsive clickpads, i.e. removing backlit keyboard option, but they usually learn from them by the next computer release.
It probably doesn't show in that one scene at 1:18 because it's an upgrade and that was a different computer being filmed for that scene. -
there's still hope... maybe
-
those are really sweet specs, when will they be out for sale, i'm guessing they will cost around $1000
-
The dv6-7017tx:
Whats is the consensus' best guess for price?
Its interesting how this is playing out in my situation; I received my DV6qe(2670qm, 7690 1gb, 750gb hybrid, 8gb, 1080p) last Friday. I'm exchanging for the new DV6, if all goes accordingly, this Monday. -

When the last major refresh was released with Sandy Bridge (the 6000 series, in march 2011) they offered 30% and 35% coupons off and on.
This is what I am waiting for before pulling the trigger on the 7000 series.
Oh, and it better have a backlit keyboard - or their engineers are doing too much special K. -
HP Pavilion dv6-7080ee Entertainment Notebook PC (B1N22EA) specifications - HP Home and Home Office products
It seems like there will be a low end Dv6 7000 with Sandy Bridge and GT 630M.
However, as it is with HM77, it is likely can be upgrade to Ivy Bridge. -

HP Dv6 7017TX has some very nice specs!
what do u guys think... this or Asus N56?
I am not partial to either brand and dont care about price. Do like that Asus is an ODM, but not many stores carry Asus. Also not worried on playing all latest games on high settings.

something weird here
HP Pavilion g6-2000 Notebook PC series
if you look at the models of the new G6 it says(first one as example)
"Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 "
yet on the processor it says : Processor Intel® Core™ i3-2350M (2.3 GHz 3 MB L3 cache ) "
and as far as I know HD 4000 is available on Ivy bridge (i3/5/7-3000s M)
so what gives? They didn't fully update the page or are they playing the "ivy bridge not released yet so we can't put that on the page" game? -

Based on HP and ASUS selling prices here in Singapore,
The HP DV6 would likely cost SGD1999 - 2099.
The ASUS would likely cost SGD 1899.
-
-
Bad for those countries which does not offer customized systems
-
Justin, I want to notify that not all 7000 series DV6/7 will be Ivy Bridge. Some are using new HM77 chipset with Sandy Bridge processors.
-
what will hp use for the wi-fi module of this laptop model? will they sill use b/g/n or they'll provide a/b/g/n for better signal. hmmm
-
-
Even in that time frame it's still cheaper to buy from hp.com than from bestbuy, etc, right?
-
-
-
anyway we can change the wireless card of pavilion right. if possible. -
