Thats like 500 cheaper than the envy with the envys old I7 and no SSD
-
-
I just spoke to customer service and they had no idea what I was talking about. It was useless.
-
Well, it seems as though we have made it through Monday without any more cancellations... agreed? Maybe they are finally over?
-
-
So I ordered my Envy, "Online Order 01/14/2011, 09:xx:xx PST" with a "Estimated build date: January 26, 2011 " got this right off the hp website. No cancel email yet. I can post on the 26th confirming I got my tracking number. I hope this info helps. It seems that at some point on the 15th they started to run out of stock.
Also to the guy saying he refuted part of the agreement...well you can try that approach, but since you are changing the agreement HP proposed, HP would have to agree to the new terms. To save you time on waiting for them to respond, they declined the updated agreement. Also when you placed your order, you already agreed to the terms. You can't change your mind after the fact.
BBB = nothing. If it makes you feel better, great. But nothing will ever come of it. -
when you bought yours on the 14th... did you use the $500 off coupon?
-
-
I don't understand..you only order 2 or 3 days earlier than those who used the $500 coupon yet your ship date is a full week before ours..maybe they anticipated delays because of the coupon so they extended the estimation? Do you guys think the remaining orders will ship ahead of schedule because of the 300 orders that were canceled?
-
Keep us updated on whether they will approval the discount stacking on top of the coupon. Personally I think it should be approved since the email doesn't say otherwise. That will make for one sweet deal, even rivaling the Envy with Radiance.
It would be even better if you can replace the 15" monitor yourself with the one from the Dell XPS 15. -
EDIT: also, why would HP not send out any more emails/make any more calls on a monday?? but, as you said, don't want to get my hopes up -
-
-
looks like all the $500 off w/ radiance were cancelled. stackable deals would be amazing (even if its only the 768 bs)
-
-
ohh well... at least ur getting a radiance! be glad your not sailing on the "canceled" boat, its miserable... haha
-
you are one lucky individual
-
-
-
i haven't got mine cancelled either.... but can't imagine wait for a few days then the cancellation email arrives
-
This waiting game is driving me nuts!!!!!!
I wish it'd ship already. I'll be so POed if feb 2nd gets here and it gets pushed back to like the 25th. -
To those who got cancelled and paid with debit card, have you gotten your refund yet?
-
I paid with credit and havent gotten mine yet.
-
-
HP finally came through and put my order through (non-radiance now) but I got a free SSD, Extra Battery, 4yrs of Lojack, Recovery Discs, and 2 day shipping for free
(everything besides the SSD was in a previous order that I returned to get the radiance and I was able to convince the rep to let me keep them and process the return)

Truth is my school mandates we have laptops and we don't start until July so I have plenty of time to wait. Although I am disappointed for the lack of radiance, oh well. To top it off, the school I went to for Ugrad gave us Microsoft Enterprise for free. I got lucky with this one.
Also noticed, I was never billed for the Radiance. (Used Bill me Later on the 15th) -
-
This thread scares me soo much, but I'm still really crossing my fingers. I have not gotten THE phone call yet, so I hope my order comes through.
To be honest coming from a 17" notebook, I was hesitant about ordering a 14" but with all this fear of losing orders, I think I can settle with a 14" if it goes through, LOL!! Anyone wanna buy my Envy 14 Radiance if it arrives?, LOL!! -
-
this whole waiting game is such bs, if feb 1st comes around and our orders get cancelled hp is gonna have some angry customers, i wish i hadnt ordered this thing i need a laptop asap and was told its to late to cancel because the order is in production..... when somebody gets a tracking number please do let us know as this anticipation of whats gonna happen next is killing me

@ HockeyDr09
How on earth did you manage to get a free $500 dollar ssd in place of a $200 radiance screen? -
Be depressed about your order cancelled and be nice to the rep. Odds are, if you're nice enough he will forward you to his supervisor himself. If he doesn't, ask for a supervisor nicely.
Tell the supervisor the same thing you told the previous rep (annoying I know) and mention how badly you wanted the screen, that you have had plenty of HP products before, the customer service is always courteous but this time you're really disappointed in the service. (I understand you're lying here)
He'll offer you the same coupon and tell you he'll give you free 2 day shipping and you can choose $200 upgrades to add up to the $1400. DO NOT CAVE. Tell him the truth, the only thing thats worth an upgrade is the SSD. There is nothing else on the machine that is worth it to make up for the screen.
He'll put you on hold, talk with his supervisor, tell you there is nothing he can do. (His supervisor is lying). Be empathetic, odds are he wanted to help, but really did get turned down. Tell him that honestly, they have to do SOMETHING, I mean seriously, we ordered these laptops around the 15th of Jan and now probably wont receive them until the end of Feb, that is a little ridiculous. He'll talk to the supervisor and eventually they WILL cave. It is completely within their power to offer you more, contrary to what they are saying.
Just be persistent and know exactly what you want. I believe this step is critical, they took me a lot more seriously when they knew, I knew what I was talking about and could tell I wasn't budging. He told me he could credit me an additional $150 on top of the $500 which would make the SSD cost me $150 extra. I told him if he gave me $200 I would switch my processor to the 560 instead of the 580 but I wanted a single dimm 4gb instead of the double dimm. He agreed just to get me the hell of the phone after me saying that was all I would do for 15 minutes. (not exactly sure how the numbers came out here, I just kept on fighting for a lower price and haggling, sorry for the lack of exact numbers)
Should be easier for all of you now. Since you know it can be done, just cite my example. They will either call you a liar (which is probably bad for business) or will have to honor the deal. Good luck to anyone trying.
As an aside, they did credit me in a weird way. They must have discounted the SSD, then showed me the actual price for everything. Deducted 500 for the coupon.
They then billed me that amount.
After they billed me they refunded me $239. This means I did have to pay some extra tax, but i'm not complaining.
Total price was $1048.59. Accounting for NY tax, actual price was ~$960. Wound up being $8 cheaper than my last order.
It was a pain to do this through bill me later though. They first tried to bill me, got denied, then refunded a previous order and then billed me again. Hopefully they didn't screw with my credit that badly. -
@ HockeyDr09
Wow, that's a great write up! Thank you so much for your help. I'll give it a shot when the time comes. This is great info!
Just so I'm understanding you correctly: They gave you the $200 credit, and another $150 coupon, which was all put towards the price of a SSD. Then you lowered your memory and processor, so that it would further bring you in range of the $525 price tag of the ssd. -
I lowered the processor to the 560 from the 580 which should of given me $50
I then told them that when I placed the order over the phone I asked for a single Dimm 4GB and that for some reason the order had 2 2GB sticks. Oddly enough this should have increased my order $20 but I am not sure if it did.
All in all, they gave me the $500 coupon. Billed me for everything else plus two day shipping. Then refunded me $239 ($200 + $39 shipping charge). I am not sure if they lowered the price on the SSD for me or if they threw in the RAM upgrade for free. But I know they gave me at least $739.
Hope that helps. -

I tried repeating what Hockey did but the rep wouldn't budge. I told the rep that I "knew a friend" that got this, this and this but he didn't believe me. He said he needed your information (i.e. name, number, address, order number) to verify what I was telling him. So, no luck for me...

Anybody else got their Envy 14 with radiance cancelled? Looks like we might be safe from now on (fingers crossed)

lovelaptops MY FRIENDS CALL ME JEFF!
BTW, I do not think the Brightview screen is bad at all and I was not in the slightest pouring salt in the wounds of those who were canceled; I was just commenting that there really is a significant difference between the two, meaning to kindly rebut those who suggested it's no big deal at all.
I am really sorry for those who had their Radiances canceled. I strongly suggest people follow the example of Hockeydr9; I have had similar "generosity" from HP on screwed up orders before. Also, I recommend you call the "Resolutions" Dept directly: 888-247-8451; these are the people that the CSR's go to for their guidance. If you use the approach Hockeydr9 used with them, they have the power to give you just about anything - except, perhaps, the Radiance.
Sorry if I offended you, akashhhhhhhhhh.

Ordered on jan 13th. I got a tracking number but it hasn't registered on fedex yet. This happened last time and it didn't show anything on fedex till the NEXT morning because it's after the fed ex cut off time and I received it the day after that although I'm very close to fed ex memphis so it may be another day for those up north.
