Hmm interesting, I ordered the 16th around 4:00 PM and my build date is also the 1st. I have same specs as you except I ordered with the i5-580m. Maybe it will ship tomorrow?

My order was placed: 01/16/2011, 01:02:27 PST which is most likely earlier than yours and it hasnt shipped yet. does an email come when its been shipped? I also had the 580m.

EDIT-Wait, if you are EST(im assuming) isnt that the same time you placed your order also?

 

PLacing an order at a certain time isn't the same as order processed at certain time which is most likely the time they prioritize actual build times. Your method of payment may have delayed your actual process time. exp= certain banks, cards take longer than others to provide funds.

Mine just shipped too. Ordered 1/15/2011 4PM PST. Was showing estimated ship date of 2/1 up until tonight, now status shows shipped and has a FedEx tracking number. Haven't received a shipping confirmation email yet.

Though no confirmation email, I had to go in and look. Should be interesting to see how this batch of laptops turn out or if its even the same 'Radiance Screen'. I had previously sent in a perfect Envy 14 so if this one has CPU whine I will RAGE.

 

Can't wait to receive my Envy 14 with the radiance display. FedEx site shows an estimate delivery date of February 1st. Awesome.

For me, the radiance display, the aesthetic, and the built quality is what distinguishes the Envy from other laptops, with the radiance display the standout feature.

 

Awesome, mine shipped too or at least has a tracking number! Hopefully the display is flawless... and is actually a Radiance!!

 

I share your joy. So sorry for those who got their orders cancelled.

 

For all those who had their's shipped don't forget about the signature print out feature. If you aren't going to be home when the package arrives you can print out this form, sign it, and tape it to the door and they'll leave the package instead of having to wait an extra day for them to come back.

I'm glad it seems most orders that were still in the "maybe" phase have shipped as well and it looks like this week from #$%^ is close to being over. Hopefully no one will have any problems.

I am so happy for you as well. Well don't sleep it will only be two days without sleep, it is worth it. Be sure to share pictures and/or comments on your new arrival, better yet, post your "unboxing" and "radiance inauguration" on YouTube for all of us to view. We can't wait either.

How crappy would it be if it came with the brightview? I wouldn't put it past HP. They shipped me a Radiance display that clearly had a brightview part number on the box. Just sayin.

lucky guys. I am still waiting for mine to be shipped. However, it seems they havent reached 1/16 dated orders yet? Maybe later today something will happen...

Ordered at 2pm pst 1/16/11, no ship confirmation yet, says its still in production.

Maybe I will be one of the lucky ones to get their laptop!!

Also, it seems this whole fiasco has added alot of new members to the site, like the person above me. lol

 

I have all my UPS / FedEx stuff delivered at work.
Thats what I hate with these two companies, they can't deliver to a PO and only deliver during my work hours when I am not home. They can't even leave it at the local ups / fedex store !!! (apparently stores and shipping centers are two different companies).

Got the shipping email at 1:32 AM PST. Should be here before February, they always give longer estimations.

 

Does FedEx require a direct signature? I can't seem to find out more information about the signature print out. Link?

if by direct signature you mean it has to be signed by the person who's name is on the package, then no. it can be signed by anyone who's there at the time

 

It requires an indirect signature by any adult at the destination. As i stated a few posts up that you can print out a form fedex provides sign it and tape to your door and they will leave it for you.

I'm telling you man, you were lied to. Your order was one of the first to be canceled -- Jan. 20 I believe? You were still on the phone with them five days later. It sucks, but I think they told you all the orders were canceled just to get you off their backs.

A good thing right? I wanted to post because this. Seemed to be a pretty hot topic. It really sucks what they have done to us. Mine still says In production. Hopefully it will be shipped today.

 

I don't know of any specific websites, but you can always check ebay, this forum's marketplace, craigslist and other similar places.

 

Placed my order for my envy 14 with radiance on 01/17/2011 at 2 pm. My order it is still listed as a expected ship date of Feb 2nd and has not yet been canceled.

i guess there is nothing to do but hope i made it through all the rounds of cancellations

as of now it looks like orders placed on the 15th before 6pm have been shipped. the 6pm is an estimate.

I talked to fedex last night to see why my ship date was extended a day and he said my package was with a huge shipment from the same place and customs was checking it. If I had to guess I'd say once they make a certain amount they ship. So maybe but hopefully not, you may have to wait till the next quota of orders has been made before it ships.

Okay, wow. I just got off the phone with HP for the 3rd time. After begging, pleading, and haggling, I was able to get the SSD. Basically, they gave me the $500 coupon, then a $327 post-shipping credit. I first tried to apply the $500 coupon to my order without the radiance, which didn't work since it was under $1399. He offered me a 100 coupon, and a price adjustment, which would have left me paying the same price for the same config without the Radiance. Then, I stated that the only upgrade that made sense for me was the SSD. YMMV, as I got a very nice rep. Kudos to HP for doing what was needed to keep a customer happy!

 

its a bit too much pleading and begging for my taste. Especially for an item which price will be much cheaper next year

I think they are shipping by the container and are sending them out about once a week. That would explain why the shipments were in one quick rapid succession and it's gone dead again.

Not necessarily. I'd think since so many folks ordered and with the chinese holiday coming up that they'd ramp up production to make up for losses incurred from the holiday. Of course this is just speculation. I'd bet it ships by friday.

Ordered evening of 1/15/11, received ship notice today at 3:31 AM, will be on tenterhooks until the arrival and verification of Radiance.

 

FYI for all Bill Me Later users that may not have received their refund yet. Call HP to check on the status. If they tell you there was an error processing the refund and it will take 3-5 more business days do not accept that. The CSR can call Bill Me Later right then and there and have the charge reversed. I don't know if this situation was unique to me but in case is wasn't I thought I would share the info.
