Those of you who accepted the $500 discount offer, did the discount apply as a credit back to your credit card? Have any of you seen the discount back on your credit card yet? Or do you truly have to wait until the item ships.

lovelaptops MY FRIENDS CALL ME JEFF!
Just for update purposes, my Envy has arrived at the airport near me and is on its way to the local sort facility, 5 minutes from my house! The bummer: HP will not allow a "hold for pickup" and it is not slated for delivery until tomorrow (Tues.). I don't have the gall to be annoyed at this, since I am one day away from having an Envy 14 with Radiance display. Somehow it just seems too easy. I won't be satisfied until I open the box and it is the right computer with the right screen.
-
Mine is set to be here in the next hour and a half. It's out for delivery even though ship date is tomorrow. -
-
$&@%, mines still in production and people are already getting theirs!! JEALOUS. Guess I should probably just be happy it wasn't cancelled!
-
Well, now my Fedex tracking page says "Shipment Exception" on it. That doesn't sound good.
-
-
-
Don't know why, but I can almost picture spencerp getting his envy like THIS.
PS: get it already god$%mit!! The wait to know if it actually has a Radiance is killing me -
Everyone, the verdict is in. drum roll please......
IT IS A RADIANCE SCREEN AND OH MY GOD IS IT AWESOME!
No defects that i can see in the fifteen mins ive used it. -
Mine still hasn't shipped, getting nervous. lol -
@spencerp, show us the pictures !!
-
-
-
. Enjoy! Will be waiting for the pics
-
waiting for pics too!

I too, finally got the deal several others here have noted. Basically my original build without radiance for 200 less. It's what seemed the most fair in the first place and I don't know why it was such a challenge, but I can't really argue with a loaded Envy 14 for about 750 (i5-580, 1 dimm 4gb, 640gb) with tax, 2 day ship and the bundled 2 year warranty. *shrug*
Now that I think about it, I'm actually even happier with this deal than Radiance. I don't need Radiance, I use my monitor 90% of the time and when I'm using it without a monitor, it's usually just to type something or watch netflix. Investing 200 for a screen in a machine that doesn't have Sandy Bridge and will be hell to get repaired when it (inevitably) fails, didn't make sense to me in the first place but I was trying to meet the 1399 requirement. Plus, I'm coming from a DV3510NR with crappy resolution, so, whatever.
Alls well that ends well, I suppose. -
Does anybody know if you can cancel an HP order once it's been made or do I have to wait til they ship it to return it? -
If u guys are interested in buying a new envy 14 with radiance
I-5. 560
6gb ram
640gb
And of course the radiance
mines should be here next week
Let me know email me [email protected] -
Having had the brightview a good month and a half i really didn't know what to expect from the radiance. Now that i've used it a few hours i can comment on the following. The brightveiw isnt bad. I actually was expecting the radiance to be night and day but it really isn't. It is ggggrrreaattt dont get me wrong but if the radiance is great the bv is good. Radiance is a little brighter but bv is bright enough. everything is smaller on the radiance and thus allows for more stuff to be on one page. It's almost too small. i can't imagine how people with 1080 see without a magnifying glass. Colors on the radiance pop out but they aren't bad on the bv by any means. The bv put my 2008 dv7000 screen to shame. Of course if you can get the radiance by all means get it, it is better but the bv is not bad. Of course many may disagree but its the honest truth i don't think the bv is bad. -

I would definitely not sell mine -

Maybe I should sell mine as well for profit. Anyone wanna shoot me an offer?
-
I still think this will be debated over and over for years until our grandchildren finally invent the 15000x9000 Infinishining Ultra display (and have a supply shortage). But oh well... this is how it goes on the information era! -

actually the bottom is all aluminum, you can tell by the feel of it (tap it and hear the sound) and by how flexible it is...plastic doesn't bend that far. What I meant was that it has a plasticy feel to it unlike the soft rubber matte on the beats edition.
I do agree that be beats edition looks kind of like a kids notebook, but the soft matte was enough for me to overlook the beats logo and the red keyboard -

When I had my beats envy at ucla, everywhere I walk is like "omg how does it sound!"

Hello All,
New here. Found the forum due to the Radiance issues with HP. Anywho, for whatever reason, my order of an Envy 14 w/Radiance on Jan 16th squeezed thru. Should ship tomorrow or Monday. Wanted to post that I would consider selling for $1300 if someone reaallllly wants one of these. Specs include i5-560M, 640gb, 6Gb ram. I paid $980, so its not too horrible. I really want the laptop, but if somebody is willing, I am too. Reply or email me if interested. [email protected] Thanks. -

My radiance Envy 14 is out for delivery as well even thought the FedEx website says estimate delivery is February 1st. Can't wait.
-
God damn mine hasn't shipped yet. I'm guessing it won't ship until Monday then
I talked to hp as well and they said they can't upgrade my shipping. I shoulda got 2 day -
last time I ordered the Envy I got it in 3 days with standard shipping (I'm in Florida), so I thought it would be better to save $40 and wait a day..I think 2 day is only worth it if you need the Saturday delivery because standard never takes longer than 4 days..at least in my area..

I thought I'd let everyone know the outcome of my Envy 14 w/ Radiance screen cancellation.
When my order was cancelled I called the number provided in the cancellation email. On Friday and continuing onto Monday and Tuesday I was told by 3-4 CSR's that the best HP could do was provide a continuation of the $500 coupon and that I still had to spec it at or above $1399. Crazy, just crazy! They take away parts you want and expect you to add parts you didn't want/need in the initial order just to keep the $500 coupon they cancelled on you.
At the end of my last call to India I was told to reply to the email I had gotten from 'Ryan Presley: Custom PC Escalation Manager.' I was told the email would be sent to someone in Palo Alto, CA. I then sent him an email telling him of my ordeal and that HP needed to make me a better offer. I received a prompt email an hour later (last night) and that I would receive a phone call the next day with a better offer.
This morning I received a call from Ken who was in Palo Alto. He told me that (1) HP would extend the $500 coupon code for any HP computer spec'd $1399 or higher or (2) that HP would deduct the $200 for the lack of the Radiance screen and that the code would still work. Both of these options carried with them the free 2 day shipping.
I mentioned that while it was nice that the coupon is continued (of course it should be), that they're not charging me for the screen (of course they shouldn't) they could do better still. I asked for a bump from the i5-560M to the i5-580M. I also went back from the 6GB RAM to the single DIMM 4GB and received a credit for that. I didn't notice the single DIMM 4GB option before for some reason. It was apparently a BIG deal that I was modifying a cancelled order! Just ridiculous.
That was satisfactory to me so I placed the order. Build / Delivery date is Feb 18. Oh, I also asked to keep the same build date but I was told that was not possible. I thought they might have some flex there but I suppose not.
Finally something that I did not expect and am a bit irritated about... because the final price was not above $1399 the computer could not activate the coupon code. I was charged the full amt. + shipping and tax on the full amt. I was told that I will receive a refund of the amount for the coupon, 2-day shipping, processor upgrade and tax. A little grating but I'm still ending up with a nice upgraded Envy 14 for just below $775. -
Carltone, first, welcome to NBR!
I think your case is a good example what a little patience and persistance can do. I hope you will be happy with your purchase.
Now....HP just needs to release the Envy 17 3D SB edition for those of us who won't take no for an answer! LOL

based on everyones stories, it looks like the CSR cannot reduce the price at their own will, but they can credit you parial refunds if they feel like it, so they only way to get a deal is to pay the full amount and then receive the credit. That's good to know.

Just received my radiance Envy 14 and let me tell you, the radiance display is unbelieveable, sharp, bright, brilliant, it is all hype up to be. I love this display, looks like better than the MBP
