Alot of people have it including me, I believe I know 1 person in this forum that received there laptop with the 12. We should still get it, i called and they had no idea what the 12 ment but told me it It is estimated to ship on the first

Those whose order got cancelled and had to reorder with the $500 discount:
Has your Envy 14 shipped? IF YES - have they credited your account yet?
Mine shipped last night. Would like to keep an eye/check on the credit. Hopefully they are quick and not refund two weeks later. -
Yes, I reordered on Monday, and it was shipped out today, due here by Tuesday 1030AM (EST). They never billed my bill me later, so I never needed to be credited.
-
Mine still has the estimated ship date of Feb. 1. Talked to two CSR today who said that it will ship. I order on the 16th.
-
Mine still lists the estimated build date as 12. In the bottom box next to tax it still lists 2/1 as the date. I feel like this 12 means that it will be built on "day 12" aka somewhere between when I made this post till 24 hours. I don't know why else a 12 would be written, and thats the only purpose I could think of for the number.
Many of us have been waiting like 2 damn weeks, and your order has shipped lol? Im not really angry...but I am confused that they are able to build yours so fast...like how much different could it be putting a radiance screen vs a brightview? -
I told them the only way I was getting it was if they priority rush processed.
-
We got screwed over out of the Radiance, so consider having a DELAYED Radiance fortunate...
I didn't ask for a rush delivery, but they did anyways. Even so, we're still only got the orders the same time we were suppose to have gotten our Envy with Radiance... -
It could be they already had it pre-built, with the exception of your screen.
-
It's Friday evening, still in production for Feb. 1. Ordered on 16 10pm est. Looks like it shipping out next week.
-
ordered on 10pm est of 15th, not shipped yet....
-
4th call to hp and still not offering me the $500 and $200 off for dropping my screen. They tell me its impossible and it cant be done on their system and all of you are wrong.
-
Try emailing [email protected] and telling them what you want and how so many other customers have gotten it, I'm sure they'll call you back shortly.
-
That's terrible, considering some people have gotten SSDs...
Keep at it, kindness + persistence usually does the trick. -
If they still haven't given it to you when my order ships, I'll give you my order number for reference.
-
Havn't been back here since I ordered my Envy 14 w/ radiance... Sooo glad it didn't get canceled...It just got to Memphis : ) Can't wait, fingers crossed for perfect condition.
-
FWIW, ordered on 16th, shipped out Tuesday.
-
Mines says "at dest sort facility". Its a saturday so I don't think Fedex delivers. Can i pick it up on my own?
-
It depends if that facility has a counter and is open on Saturdays. You'll have to call them to find out.
-
Wow, you are a very cool dude!
I hope
bigwood212 will use and benefit from you're help! God I love NBR, coolest forum on Earth, lol.

Hi every one I have been following the forums and I too have called CSR and have got nothing from them and now i will try to reply to the email and hoop for some kind of deal
-
thanks guys I am trying everything you all suggest. I will let you know how it turns out.
Whats crazy is I had $550 off on my original order because I called and asked to change something and they gave me 50 bucks off. Now they have been telling me you can never have more than 500. -
First, welcome to NBR!
Next, I think you would probably get farther by actually speaking to someone, rather than replying to the email, but that's just me. Good luck!
-
Thank you but i have called HP and always the same thing cant give more them the original deal from the email so i will wait for a response from HP.
-
Hi all!!
After viewing this thread passively as it grows since it started (I'm one of the "chosen ones" who got canceled), I'd like to ask those of you who already got your Radiance display (maybe trying to motivate my self to reorder with the downgraded display):
Is the 1600*900 resolution really comfortable for anything but viewing HD content?
Maybe the reason why the 1366*768 resolution on 13"-15" laptops is still the most popular is not because of tech limits but because of user usability? -
Why wouldn't it be? It bugs the hell put of me that I couldn't have two full size windows side by side with the low Res. I'm hoping the radiance is better in that perspective for me.
-
Hey guys, I've been lurking around on the forums since I first read about the 500$ off coupon, thought I would share my story.
I ordered my Envy on the 17th with an estimated build date of February 3rd. I was canceled on January 21st. I bit the bullet and ordered with the brightview on the 22nd with an estimated build date of February 14th after being offered the coupon again for the inconvenience, much longer than originally hoped. Oh well, I still got a great deal.
That order was canceled later on in the day requesting that I call. I gave HP a call on the 23rd and was escalated off to some order resolution department where they told me something was wrong with the billing address on the order possibly not matching the information the credit card company has. I was told I would receive a call back in 15 minutes with a resolution. I waited 4 hours with no call back, I called HP again and was told the department that handles these issues are closed...OK I'll call in the morning
I woke up to an email from that resolution department requesting I call them and was given a direct line to their department. I give them a call around 12:00 pm pst and referenced the email I received. The agent I spoke with let me know the person who emailed me was with a customer and asked if she could call me back in 5 minutes. I agreed and again waited for a phone call back from HP. 3 Hours go by this time and I'm loosing faith in HP. I call the direct number again and the person who was supposed to be calling me back answered the phone
.... ok then
Well this person was very friendly and kind. She applied the 500$ credit onto the order so I would not have to wait for any refund as well as waiving shipping immediately. We re-ordered my laptop and off I went on my merry way...
The agents I talked to were friendly and seemed like they cared, except for the 2 times I was promised a call back.
There is a happy ending to my story however
. I finally got my order accepted and processed at 3:53pm pst on January 24th with an estimated build date of February 15th. January 28th at 8:12PM I received a Shipping notification from HP stating my laptop has finished being built and has been shipped with an estimated delivery of February 3rd the original estimated build date
Not the greatest of experiences, but the reps were friendly, my laptop was shipped very quickly, and hopefully the Envy lives up to my expectations!
Just wanted to share my story with the rest of the forums! This experience did 1 good thing for me at least. I've been introduced to the NBR forums which I really enjoy! -
Welcome, and congrats on your (sorta) happy ending! Hope you enjoy your envy
I ordered the 16th, specs in sig.... still "in production." HP's cutting it pretty close to that February 1st overestimated (?) build date.
-
Just wanted to welcome the new members to NBR!

I'm still showing a shipping date of February 1st - time is a tickin...
-
Probably going to receive my Envy 14 tomorrow, fedex shows its at "dest sort facility" (ordered on the 15th). My config is i5 580m, 6gb, 500, radiance. Apparently some guy on ebay was selling this same config for $1600! Don't plan to sell mines
For those of you who have the radiance, do you feel is it over hyped or does it live to the hype? Do you feel its better than the macbook pro screens? I heard the MBP is a IPS screen whereas the radiance is still a TN.
I feel like this is a bad time to buy even though I got the radiance. The 580m and 5650 are aging fast. -
It's real. I have the part sitting right here and am waiting to swap it out with the BV display. Part# 608366-001 in stock at the parts store HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts
-
If anything, its going to ship out like sunday night. Cause Im guessing that in china its still sunday night or whatever. Once it becomes 8am or whenever hp in china opens, our orders will be shipped out. I doubt they can really cut it any closer and probably have built most of our 1/16 orders
-
Mine got in Memphis last night, so provided they manage to get it to my sorting facility (Santa Cruz CA) it should be here tomorrow.
-
I agree with a94060 that all of the remaining Radiance orders will more than likely be sent out Monday (late Sunday in the U.S. because of time difference).
They actually told me when I placed my order it'd more than likely be sent out 1/31 and would arrive by 2/4 so it looks like the rep was actually accurate two weeks ahead of time (who would've thought? haha).
I still purchased 2-day shipping hoping it'd get sent on like a Wednesday and still make it to me by the end of the week but oh well, I'll still take it earlier in the week than later for my $39
.
So to those of you who have received yours already, how are you liking it? Minus the flex some people are still finding, how is the performance/size/weight/build in your opinion? Screen?

If the screen swap is not too difficult please let me know, I am thinking about ordering the screen. Thanks -
AddictionsolA Notebook Consultant
The difference is for the cheaper one you have to exchange a dead radiance screen (the core). These screens are refurbished so they get the cores from customers to remanufacture them. The install shouldn't be too difficult, you get the WHOLE screen so it should just be a hand full of screws and a plug. -
The cheaper one is for exchange only for customers that have defective screens, just as AddictionsolA said. Should be simple swap just follow the service manual.

Just joined the forum.
My i7 720-QM, 6gb, 500gb, radiance, is still in production and supposed to ship out on 2/1. I ordered on the 15th at 3pm PST. Hopefully it ships out a little early. I can't wait to get it -
I've been following this thread for a while...this is my first post though. My envy with radiance should get here tomorrow. Ordered late afternoon on the 15th. I got the i5-580 and 6GB RAM.
I was planning on buying a macbook pro (whenever the new models get released) before this deal came up. Now that you point out that I can sell this for 1600 I'm really tempted to do so and get a macbook pro that Apple will hopefully announce on Tuesday. Really unsure what to do...all I know is it's gonna be hard as hell not to open this thing when it comes in the mail tomorrow if I do end up trying to sell it. -
may I ask why you would sell your envy for a mac?
-
If it is going to be your first MBP, I suggest you familiarize yourself with the mac os, and really get a feel of how you like it. Consider what your main purpose for the laptop is and if you are willing to spend the extra money for the mac. If you plan to sell it, definitely restrain yourself from opening it.
-
I got the same configuration but also ordered the via adapter so it can be connected to a projector.
Just checked out the same configuration on apple.com .. The 15in MBP with the high res glossy screen is ~$2100 so the envy is definately a lot less expensive. Given the MBP already has the i5, what are you expecting them to refresh? SB or something additional? Despite the significantly added cost, I'm tempted to consider selling the envy unopened to get my first MBP. Will be hard to resist opening on Tuesday
-
In regards to selling it. Would would happen if you sold it and it had defects? Curious, you got me thinking about it now.
-
Very good point. Will the new buyer have the 2 year warranty honored by HP if it is sold to a new buyer? I do hope so, otherwise......

I was wondering if anyone who had a BV display and now have a Radiance display as to how much better the screen is? I know it is a higher resolution but how is the color and black levels compared to the BV? Thanks.
-
I saw this posted in another thread and the answer was Yes the warranty is transferable to a second party but (not 100% sure on this part) i believe you have to have the original receipt.
-
I'll post about that as soon as I get it. I had the BV for a week before returning it.
-
Ok, so somewhat irrelevant but I'm getting really excited here lol. My envy "order status" on the HP site still says in production for Feb. 1. Question is, do you get an email with shipping info first, or does the order status change first?
-
Status changes first then email soon after
Was your HP Envy 14 with Radiance display order cancelled? Post here!
