Was your HP Envy 14 with Radiance display order cancelled? Post here!

I'm in the same boat as you guys as well. Mine shipped yesterday and has a delivery date of the 10th. I'm just hoping it is A ok. Relieved that it shipped though.

 

HP parts doesn't update their order status stuff at all. Mine was shipped and delivered (standard delivery) after exactly 5 days of ordering, and until now, it still says order processing. This was last month. The only way to check the real order status is by calling in, they usually ship in a day or 2 and you have to call in to get the tracking number

Oh even better, it was delivered today. Omg cant wait, I get off of work at 4! Damn from Shanghai to CA in 2 days and I didnt even need to pay for 2 day air.

LoL its not going to be my first time since I had the Envy Beats before. I am going to miss that slim power adapter with USB charger though. Cant wait to see the radiance and I got my OCZ Vertex 2 from Newegg to put in it as well!

Yea just a bit. I just liked the USB charging port cause it put out a lot of power and charged my phone in 30 min =D

Enjoy it, the box is really nice. Just hope mine doesnt have any quality control problems. I got lucky with my Beats and the finish was pretty good.

 

so basically there was a charging port built into the envy brick itself? Does the regular envy power brick have any cool features?

 

Yup there was a USB port built into the brick itself. I dont think so. It was a pleasant surprise when I was using my Beats.

 

I just realized I did the regular shipping, NOT the 2 day, and it arrived 2 days from when they shipped it. They shipped it out Monday, and when I checked the ETA was Friday, but it came in today, so I guess I saved $ on the quick shipping

Well, the last FedEx flight for today just arrived in Anchorage, hopefully my envy was on it. =)

 

I accidentally forgot to send the beats travel charger back when i exchanged my computer so luckily i have 2 chargers now and they never charged me or anything.

 

for the people who just got shipping orders today.. i just checked again i dont know why but now its in alaska.... i hope that it wont be the 10th still.

 

Is the only way to scroll up or down is swiping up/down with 2 fingers? They took out the scroll from the right side?

hmm thats weird mines in Alaska too. We probably got lucky cause it shipped out on the 1st and new years is on the 2nd, maybe Fedex is closed only for new shipments

I like the travel adapter of the beats too so I ordered one with my new Envy, so I'll have 2 adapters. I didnt think that I could just keep my old one without them noticing lol oh well

 

Mine's in Alaska as well. Seems like it should be here maybe by the end of the week according to everyone else.

you guys must be really happy seeing that it could have been stuck forever. As long as its in the US, id say that the estimate they gave you was very liberal. There arent really any holidays coming in the US which is why i feel its a liberal estimate

When you see out for delivery, you will know Well im guessing once it reaches in the local facility in your state, you will know its probably going to be a day or so after. I guess I got lucky that my item went straight from anchorage to newark, Nj without going through the messy Memphis hub

Should be here tomorrow morning (Thursday) by 10:30am. I guess it made it out of China just in time. Oddly, the CSR in Palo Alto sho was so helpful (Ken) told me they were assembled in Singapore when I asked.

 

Mine is still in Alaska and supposed to get here on the 4th. I haven't seen any updates to the tracking since Feb 1 at 4pm. What gives?

 

It may not have been updated yet for the day or something. My package has been showing "in transit" all day in newark,nj. I live 40 mins from this place and theres no way the package could have been in transit for almost 15 hours. I feel that sometime tonight it will be scanned in my local facility and the status will be updated

 

Still in production... Looks like I'm definitely going to be asking for a discount

 

If you don't, I will have to ask for the 10% discount for you, of course you'll have to let me use your awesome Envy once in a while! LOL

I think what apparently delayed mine was the i7 CPU. I guess with a 10% off I can use that toward a slice battery which I think I will need with the i7. 2hr isn't enough of a battery life.

 

Just remember if they say a certain percent off your NEXT purchase you won't be able to use it toward the slice since the parts store is a different entity.

Good deal. Also,i promise this computer is worth the wait so in the end you will be happy even though you are dealing with a bunch of bs.

 

Just opened it and all I gota say is wow. I love this much more than the Beats. It feels solid and I just realized I hate the matte thats on the beats. Radiance so far is a beauty but im still going through the loading screen. Still gota remove the HDD and put my SSD in. A tiny little bit of keyboard flex but its only noticeable if you push down very very hard.

I do have one dead pixel but its in the very very bottom left corner of the screen and would not have been noticeable if i wasnt looking for it.

 

Wow, if they do give out discounts for delays, I would have loved to be delayed! lol What kind of discount (or upgrade?) do you think I could've gotten for having to send mine in for a (7-9 day) repair out of the box?

 

Do you plan to go through the hassle of doing a fresh install of win7 or just clean up the unwanted programs?

It may be simpler to make a back up of the HDD with both partitions (win7 + HP recovery) and then restore it on the SSD. This way you can do a minimal recovery using HP's recovery manager. It will only install windows and the HP drivers.

For a backup/restore program, I used EASEUS Backup along with a USB HDD with great success (converted a Raid 0 to Raid 1 on my desktop).

 

My package arrived this morning at the newark facility, was in transit for the whole day, and departed newark nj like 30 mins ago. How does that even make sense? Was it in transit inside the depot lol?

Does the minimal restore just install the os and drivers? Or does it install other stuff aside from os and drivers?

 

Fresh. Its not really a hassle to me.

 

Update: Believe it or not, my is now showing that it made it out of Shanghai and is en route to Anchorage. Looks like I slipped through New Years. Hoping to get it ahead of schedule since it should be in the states soon.

 

Welp, Mine got delivered today! I did not pay for the two day shipping and I still received it in 3 days!! Living on the Best, I mean west coast has its perks! lol

I hope everyone enjoys their laptops, I still would not want this laptop without the Radiance even with the SSD.

 

Has anyone who had their Envy 14 with Radiance display cancelled who reordered with the BrightView display let me know what you think of the BV display? I think I read that there are a few folks who's Radiance were cancelled and already received their BV replacements. Thanks.

 

I am really happy to hear that. And yes it does, being pretty much the closest to anchorage (aside from oregon or something). Enjoy! No dead pixels or anything right?

 

Are people's packages going from Anchorage to the hub in Memphis or directly to the destination?!

 

My buddy got his today, 2 dead pixels ... he probably will return it and keep his money, he already has an Asus U35JC but it's less powerful.

I guess I got lucky.

 

Mine went straight from anchorage to newark, nj. I guess there was a direct flight between the two. YMMV

EDIT- Read the website for fedex, apprently the newark hub is located literally inside the newark airport and is a distribution point for packages in the northeast. Probably means my package has a long way to go (even though I am <1 hr away)
