Where are the dead pixels? I have one but its blueish and it at the very corner. I cant even see it unless I put my face to it.

Packaging is awesome! I actually recorded unboxing it, lol
First impression on the cover was. it was alright, i'm ok with the etching design. But as soon as I carried it, it definitely felt heavier than expected. I didnt really know how much a 5lb etc or whatever the weight of this thing is, but for its size and the way it looks, it looks lighter. Anyways...
I guess when you flip up the screen, the weight transfers, so it actually feels lighter when the screen is up when ur carrying it, LOL.
I gotta say the keyboard is really nice to type on. My girl tried it out and that was the first thing she loved about it.
I actually really like the Radiance panel, the main reason, it makes all the fonts etc small and you could still read it. That 1600x900 resolution was good for something after all. I love how everyhing that's small txt or pix still looks clear!
The backlit keyboard is pimp! Im typing in the dark now and it works good! Not even gonna mention no keyboard flex coz even if it did, i dont ever press that hard when typing.
It runs cool and quiet , this is with the i5 580.
Battery seems like it will go around 4hrs or so.
Also the brightness can be set to really bright which I love!
The main downfall for me was/is the touchpad! I'm used to the traditional left/right click and this multitouchpad was not happening for me. It skipped a lot and was so hard to scroll up and down. It really ruined the experience coz everything else seemed great! - I started a new thread and it seems like theres a software fix for it and a few tweaks here and there and it should be as good as maybe the MAC's.
*FYI, you can set the up/down scroll to be used on the right side of the pad on the synaptics settings.
And my MAIN complaint thus far and still thinking if I should send it back and have HP fix is when I tap on the touchpad even everso lightly, it makes a clicking/clanking type of sound that's just an earsore for me. It should be silent IMO, and it ruins the whole feel of the premium laptop.
Other than that, I seriously love this laptop! It would be perfect if it had a bluray, LOL -

Gave fedEx a call and asked them to deliver it on Friday when I will be home all day

Mine is finally in Ft Lauderdale, FL after being stuck in Alaska for close to 21 hours and then stopping in Memphis.
Should be getting it tomorrow. Will the let me pick it up in Ft. Lauderdale? My wife works right down the street from the FedEx location. -

Well mine is currently on the FedEx truck for delivery. Too bad I didn't leave a note on my door this morning because I was expecting it to be delivered tomorrow. FedEx needs to update their only shipping status more frequently, they are killing me. Oh well now I have to take my lunch time to drive home to leave the note in hopes that they haven't already passed by.
I want this thing so bad. -
My shipping status also posted as "in transit" twice in China and Alaska.
I don't think FedEx does Saturday delivery for standard orders but I could be wrong. I'm expecting mine tomorrow because of two-day shipping but we'll see... -
aaaaah.... I'm dying over here. I'm currently waiting on 2 envy 14s.
My story is much like many others. I order on the 16th with the radiance, and the order was canceled. I really wanted the radiance, and I thought I wanted the i7, so I bought a refurb on ebay (i7, Radiance, 8GB and 640 HDD). I also decided to take advantage of the huge discount I was able to get on the SSD, and ordered an i5-560 with 6 GB and 256 SSD, with the intention of selling it on ebay to help cover the premium I had to pay for the one I bought off ebay. How, I'm having second thoughts about the i7 since you guys say it kills the battery. Ahhh... Anyway, one should be delivered tomorrow and one on Monday, so I guess I have a couple days to decide what to do.
Edit: HP Still hasn't issued the credit for my order, and it shipped on Monday. Do you guys think it is time to complain yet? -

For anyone who gets the rainbow effect on their radiance, mine just completely disappeared last night. Took 2 days for it to go away, so don't freak out if yours has it.

There's a plastic tab on the battery and HD, am I suppose to remove it? The getting started guide didn't mention anything about it...

Wow, this thread has grown considerably since I last checked it last week...that's not good.
Well, I ordered the radiance screen on the 16th with an est ship date of 1 Feb. As of this morning, it still says in production with a ship date of 1 Feb...do they have a time travelling shipping company? lol
I called HP and they checked to find out more info and she said that it is not on their "delayed" list...which is a good sign. The delayed list is for those that don't have the parts in to finish production (from what I gathered while talking to her). She said that they have 5-7 days after the Est ship date to get it to me...so if they ship it a couple days late, they can still get it to me on schedule by shipping it faster. The question I forgot to ask: are those days business days or regular days?
So I was told that they noted my iquiry and that she has "elevated" my status (which I doubt means nothing to the production line) and to check back in 24 hours.
Forgive me if this was mentioned earlier, but have others been told something similar? I don't expect any change over the next 24 hours, so what should expect them to say when I call them back? I'm not looking for any compensation because if I can't get the radiance screen, then I'm going elsewhere since the screen is the #1 thing of importance in every computer I get. -
its chinese new years so people say that the HP factory is closed until Monday, so hopefully it should ship by then. I had a build date of Feb 2nd, and it shipped on the 1st, so I dont understand what happened to yours...I doubt it was cancelled though, im sure itll ship in a few days
by the way, although thr thread has grown, is not becuase of cancellations, I guess we got a little off topic here..most of these posts should have been in the "mine is shipping" thread -
Anyway, I just sent mine in for a "repair" this morning. I just used the online chat and didn't even mention the radiance display, though they should be able to pull up that info with my serial number. The CSR didn't mention any problem, and they overnighted a box to me. Guess I'll see what happens. Luckily though, I think they could just clean the display and not replace it -- I found a few dust/dirt specks under the glass; didn't see any dead pixels.
