not sure her email, but lovelaptops has asked throught the various threads here about someone selling their Envy 14 radiance...she is very interested to get one for her son. It would be great if you could hook her up. NBR is an awesome community.

Currently working on setting up my laptop, and I must say I am beyond thrilled with it thus far. Everything seems to be in good working condition. The screen is extremely nice, nothing that would blow you away with an initial impression, but beautiful nonetheless. Extremely pleased so far, just gonna finish removing bloatwear and tweeking it to my specifications.

 

Don't remove it! Its there to help get the battery/hd out when you need to.

 

Yes!!! My computer was delivered. My neighbor signed for it. Gonna go pick it up before I get to class. I'll have to be late but Oh well. lol

 

Anyone else's unit listed as "in transit" from Alaska (twice) since yesterday afternoon?

 

akashhhhh, mine was a few days ago. I think it's common.

 

I just got the laptop, this thing is absolutly beautiful. I cant say anything else except for that. It was well worth the wait. This radience blows everything else out of the water hands down

 

Just wanna say, the more I use this Radiance screen laptop the more I really love it. I love the screeeen!! And the touchpad tweaks is helping out a lot

 

I know man, the brightness alone is amazing. The quality when watching movies is so great as well.

 

Hi Mavrick, can you share with us what kind of "tweeking" you will be doing to your Envy 14? Thanks.

 

is there anyway the total number of disks required can be shrunk? It says it needs 7 disks or 23gb flash...

 

I have seen a few people mentioning tweaking the touchpad. Can you tell us what you did or throw in a link for it. Thanks!

Well, basically I just removed all the bloatware, installed battery bar, removed all unnecessary startup programs and services through MSCONFIG. Also the biggest thing was tweaking the mouse to get it to my specifications.. Essentially I just turned on one finger vertical scrolling and set it to the far right side as well as increasing pointer speed and turning mouse precision off, the mouse pad is just a big personal preference thing, just keep mixing settings until you find something that works for you, no right or wrong way. Just pretty basic stuff to be honest. I am also installing adaware, cpu-z, and gpu-z. If you have any questions or want more specifics please feel free to PM me.

 

alot of people have that including me, i think because it was suppose to go to memphis and due to the weather issues, they could not ship it. so the plane never left? probably what happend.

Last year, tried ordering a Dell and we started a thread like this...but after 2-3 months of us receiving a million different answers from their CS, that thread was really really long also. Needless to say, I cancelled that one (and got my Envy 15)!!

I'm assuming so. Maybe the flight was canceled, and then it was sent on another flight which is why there are two "in transits"? But then it would (or should) say that it departed from the fedex location, right?

EDIT: and akashhhh- hey, at least we were lucky enough not to get cancelled! now we must just pray that we don't have something wrong with our brand new envys!

 

well my last Envy didn't even go to Memphis at all, it went to Texas, and then to me. in Alaska, It had 1 "in transit" and then "departed" after that, then it took like another 20 hours to say "arrived" in Forth Worth Texas. I think we should see another update later tonight

 

I live right next to memphis and there is a lot of ice on the roads and i'm assuming the runways.

After mine hit alaska it took a whhhiiilllleeee to update and say it went to memphis. i'm guessing you'll get an update tonight.

 

I hope lol I'll let you guys know when it next updates, it seems that quite a few of us are all in the same situation.

Um...something I just thought of, are the envy's getting 64-bit win 7?

 

I received my Envy 14 (i5-580m, 4 GB RAM, Radiance) one day earlier than estimated date of 02/04. My wife signed for it. I am about to leave work and go home.

I have a Mid-2009 13 in MacBook Pro office laptop. Looking forward to compare these two.

The package was shipped on Jan 31. It moved from Shanghai to Alaska and then Memphis and then to SLC and finally home today noon.

 

Congrats, and did you have the standard 5-7 business day shipping?
Also, wanna make us a video comparison of your macbook vs. the envy?

 

Sort of off topic but anybody interested in purchasing 4 GB DDR3 1333 ram (Micron Technology branded) that was pulled out of my HP Envy 14 Beats Edition? The part number is MT16JSF51264HZ-1G4D1. Maybe somebody wants matching ram to upgrade their new Envy???

As of 7:40 EST right now.... still "in transit" for the second time, not departed the fedex location yet... will let you know when it changes

Same, my status finally updated, says it departed at 4:02 though (kinda slow). Anyway, yeah, Monday or Tuesday seem to be the most likely delivery days. I only got standard shipping though so mine might be later than that..

 

Mine is moving too. I wouldn't be so sure we won't get them til monday. Packages can move FAST once they're moving and we may all get a surprise in the morning in the form of a "out for delivery" status.

 

Ok I'm setting it up. Neighbor dropped it off earlier while the wife was home.

I must say, this thing is beautiful. This is my opinion coming from a Macbook Pro 15".

Gonna try to do a clean install. Any warnings?

 

you might just be right..looking back at my other tracking, my Envy was delivered the day after it departed from Alaska, which was at 7:41pm EST. And this was with standard shipping

Really wish I had a large enough flash drive because burning DVD's are not really what I want to do right now.

 

Wow making these recovery disks has to be the worst thing in the world. Why can't they just provide the freaking things in the box. 3 hours and I have 5 disks to go. This is ridiculous. Can I call them and just get these disks shipped to me for free?

 

Is it just me or is the beats audio nothing special...must have just been a marketing ploy...

150 for me. i dont if it would arrive tomorrow. does fedex deliver on saturdays i think its no but double checking.

 

I just looked it up and it appears Saturday delivery is only available for 2-day and overnight shipping. You should still be able to pick it up on Saturday from your nearest warehouse though.
