No lag at all... here are the best things about this mouse:
Takes two "AA" batteries, I have rechargables, and mine lasts for about 3 weeks before changing, leaving it on at all times.
The scroll wheel also tilts left-right for left right scrolling of web pages and window explorer.
Has a forward/back button on the left side for internet browsing.
Great size, fits nice in my hand.
NO WIRELESS DONGLE sticking out of my laptop!

-
o sweeeet, can you give me a link to a cheap one? and do they have it at best buy?
-
-
this is a used mouse, and plus, i only have best buy gift certificates
thanks anyways -
Just got this too.
1.83 Core 2
1gb of ram(wish it was 1 stick)
100gb
go7400
tv tuner
I like the machine, mouse pad im still getting use to, i seem to be cruising around with the cursor thenmy finger will like dag in and stop. my old trackpad had a different surface.
Also can u disable the Quickplay - key sounds?
And the TV-tuner. I have an 21inch widescreen, would their be anyway to plug that into this computer, and run the TV-tuner on that monitor, and run windows on the notebook?? -
So it's midnight and I found this wonderful forum
(I discovered the site last night, the review for this laptop was great!)
I've been peaking at the HP site for quite a while now... and all around the internet looking for reviews... and I think... I'M FINALLY READY... to order my HP DV6000t(I was previously considering the larger 17'' but reasoned... and decided it was too bulky)
Are there any Vista Premium users who can drop in their two cents on their HPs performance thus far? I'd greatly appreciate it! -
Hi, guys! I read review of dv6000t, andreally fall in love with it. Do you know, where I can buy one, of course cheaper as it possible?
But there is one problem - I live in Moscow, and russian HP don't sells dv6000t with T7200 and 2 GB RAM. -
good choices guys
welcome to the forums! -
Read the post about the Q' and Toshiba LCDs... are those still the two choices available? Which is better quality?
-
BTW I wanna buy dv6000t in Europe, but it don't sells there too
So this configuration of dv6000t only for north america? -
This. That awful beep that it emits whenever I try to change the volume makes my ears bleed. -
I just discovered this site out of boredum but im glad i did. I just ordered my HP dv6000t the 29th. It says its suppose to be shipped the 7th im hoping its shipped earlier then this, as my old comp died on me and am stuck using my parents for now. this is what i ordered unfortunatly working for minimum wage i couldnt afford to go all out. i would have liked to though.
- Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic
- Intel(R) Celeron(R) M 430 (1.73 GHz/1MB L2 Cache)
- 15.4" WXGA Widescreen (1280x800)
- Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 950 - Celeron
- Standard Finish
- 512MB DDR2 System Memory (1 Dimm)
- 80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
- DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
- Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
- No TV Tuner w/remote control
- 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
- Microsoft(R) Works 8.0
For the comp it came to $668.03 but i got the 2-year HP Express Repair Extended Service Plan for it which was another $152.06. Totaling $820.09. I only did this because my old comp was like a year and a half old and crapped out but it also was Systemax ordered from tigerdirect which my brother told me to do which i regret. But i leave my computer on alot. which may or may not have had an effect on it. whats a good thing for someone that leaves their laptops on alot to purchase so it makes it easier on the laptop? -
just got mine today!!!
-
one more question.... does anyone have pictures of the difference between standard finish and imprint finish?
-
Not sure but the Standard finish, I believe is the non-scratch resistant and doesn't have the pattern around it. I think its a matt version of the imprint. Don't sweat it, if you got the PC that's all that matters.
later.mike -
definitely get the imprint finish with webcam and mics!
-
Ya, that noise gets old fast, fortunately that beep can be disabled through the bios, but I've heard that some people have to update their bios before they have that option. -
by beep, you mean the "high pitch squeel"? If so, how do you take care of it in the bios.
-
the beep happens whenever you touch a quickplay button on the computer, to disable the beep, press f10 when your computer starts up, and there is an option to disable it.... it gets pretty annoying...
-
you know what I hate about these volume buttons? The fact that during startup or some processing they are not functional. So lets say your not in windows yet but at the login (user select screen) and you want to mute or turn down laptop to avoid the dreaded loud sound of the windows startup chime, sorry buddy you can't, since that is not available just yet. I wish these buttons acted more like hardware buttons rather then buttons driven by software.
-
Oh great... I ordered this notebook w/NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 video card and 2048MB RAM and I'm now told it will struggle to run Windows Vista Home Premium.
Now what?
Call HP and cancel, wish me luck! -
-
I feel your pain, and though I don't have an answer, I have another question related to this dilemma:
What about installing XP over Vista? Has anyone tried this?
Since the HP site no longer allows you to order a notebook with XP pre-installed, is it possible to either install XP over Vista, or uninstall Vista and then install XP? Would this involve headaches with drivers? -
Since the notebook is already in production I couldn't cancel the order. They did tell me I could refuse to sign for it, send it back, and then special order a new configuration via the phone with Windows XP. I guess that kind of answers your question desert dweller. Maybe I should request Windows MCE since I have an xbox. Looks like this will be a long process... oh well.
-
But... why... would you struggle with Vista? I've seen lesser laptops than that run it just fine!
-
^^^ Could someone clarify this more? Vista should be great on a computer with those specs.
-
unless the processor is horrible, it should run fine
-
I don't know where this boy got his info but somewhere, somehow he was mislead. Taken on a darker path of hardware compatibility and instilled with visions of inferiority where there is none. He has seen the light only to realize it was a flash from a D cell flashlight. Oh well hope he reads more and learns more to be of wiser , of the ways of the DV6000 saga.
-
Thought I'd add myself here
-
Okay guys... this is the reason why I joined this forum. Thanks for you comments I appreciate the feedback and feel better about my purchase.

those are exactly my specs for the replacement laptop I ordered. only difference is got the 12v battery and the digital tv tuner card. Although I was not impressed with the first tuner card which was analog I thought I give it one more try due to fact that it is digital and it comes with an antenna which was not offered with xp version analog tuner. hope it works better pulling OTA digital channels then it did analog. well see in a few days.

Currently I have a Compaq X1000 and it's the best notebook I have ever owned. I really love 1920x1200 too. I bet it will take getting used to 1280x800 on the HP.
-
Scream - looks like we have the same system
I am very happy with mine -
Awesome! I'm glad you are happy
-
Finally ordered mine!!!
-
What specs LeMXiCaN?
-
Ok, so I am looking to buy the HP with these specs. However my question is about upgrading the memory. Would it be cheaper to get the 2Gigs at HP or get the 512 and buy additional memory elsewhere? And also the same question with the hard drive? The price is sitting at 1202.99. I am needing the laptop by the end of March and I also wanted to make sure that there isn't anything cool that will come out before then that I should wait on.

Just got a HP Pavilion dv6275us and love it so far. My only issue is playing live tv with Media Center. The video is fine some of the time, but sometimes is almost unwatchable with jumpiness and sound cut outs. Anybody else experience something like this with Media Center. TV seems to work ok with HP Quickplay. Also, DVD playback is fine and so are all the demo videos in MC. Thanks for any input!
-
I am planning on buying a Dv6275us and was wondering how the lid is lock. I've cehck some close up photos of the dv6000 and could not find any lock or switch to unlokit once you close it.
Anyone know how this works? just curious... -
emollerstuen who about the noise problem everybody is reporting??
I've check this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=85477&page=11

I finally got mine on February 9th after it being delaying in china for almost 2 days. But none the less i got it and my vista is pretty slow. It takes quite a while for it to start up and shut down. Plus i kept getting this thing saying that exec.exe was trying to access my computer and kept hitting cancel. I had not downloaded anything but Aim. I looked around and first found thats a trojan virus name. But that there was also a correlation between that and AIM. Apparently many people have had this problem. I found one page online with a forum about it. This guy said to get rid of it he deleted Viewpoint media player, and it went away. So i did it and havent gotten a warning since. But im really not sure. Anyone else have this problem?

Hm, let me just firstly say that I've read these whole thread, all 55+ pages of it, like three times through. Your comments, advise, and complaints have prompted me to buy a dv6000t. Here are my specs:
HP Pavilion dv6000t customizable Notebook PC
* Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic
* Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T5200(1.60GHz/2MB L2Cache)
* 15.4" WXGA Widescreen (1280x800)
* 256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7400
* HP Imprint Finish + Microphone
* 1024MB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
* 80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
* FREE Upgrade: 8X DVD+/-R/RW w/Double Layer Support
* 802.11b/g WLAN
* No TV Tuner w/remote control
* 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
* Microsoft(R) Works 8.0
* HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope
I ordered it on February 3, estimated ship date was the 12th, but was later moved to th 14th. All of this cost ~1100$.
I just have a few questions.....
I've heard about the whining and buzzing noise emitting from the base of the laptop, was there a known fix beside using rmclock and the usb port method?
Also.. I know 256 Geforce 7400Go isn't exactly a gamer-card, but will it run modern games fine? Well. Not really modern. More realistically just Starcraft, WoW, and GunZ. Does it lag?
I've also seen that due to the dv6000t's shiny glossy imprint finish, which i was forced to buy also because it woudn't let me just choose the standard finish along with the Dual Core 2 processor, attracts a lot of dust and fingerprints, Is it very noticeable? Can those marks be easily removed by means of a tissue?
I also read about Vista and whatnot, and i decided to get mine with because it , well, was free. But I only have 1 GB of DD2 RAM, I heard that is minimally sufficient to run Vista, but is it really okay? Can I still multitask well with Vista running and a couple of other programs>? (None that are decoding/encoding or converting of course, just simple programs such as Browsing and maybe AIM)
I decided to buy the 12 cell battery based on my observations from comments in here, the 6-cell is quite sufficient, but not enough to my standards, The 12-cell allows your laptop to be lifted up some, right? Its not imbalanced or anything.. right?
Thank you for taking your time for reading this, I'm really glad such a discussion forum with knowledgeable people exist. Truthfully, I have just made my account today and decided to say thanks right now. Currently, my dv6000t went from being in production, to shanghai, and now its in Alaska for some reason. I guess that's what you call free shipping.
Do you guys suggest that I return the notebook if it contains any of the problems you guys have stated prior? Or should i just tough it out and try to fix them with an HP representative. Honestly, I have been like checking the tracking status on my beautiful laptop every hour since ordering it on the 3rd. Its now the 10th and im getting anxious. I probably coudn't bear to not see it again for an entire week or two while its in repair. When this gets here ill smother it like i did my shiny new guitarIf there's problems, I guess ill smother it with love, cry, and regretfully send it back. THank you for taking the time to read this =)!

I'm a new owner. My6000t arrived on the 17th of last month. I have not experienced any high pitched whine like some report. Maybe I'm lucky... as for the glossy finish. I like it but it does show fingerprints quite clearly. A soft cloth similar to a lens cleaning cloth came with my computer and I use it to wipe away the fingerprints when they get on my nerves.
-
i dont have a dv6000t yet but i read a couple things on a buzzing sound??? did hp fix the "buzzing" sound yet or is it still there??
oh yeah i'm trying to decide b/t a dv2000t or dv6000t, sorta leaning towards the 2000t bc i'm going to be using the notebook for school but i still want the t7200 processor, 2gb of ram, a decent vid.
