You need to get cpufreq working, should have been enabled by default.

Uhh, you have the SSD set as you System boot partition, the System Reserved partition that is normally 100 MB at the beginning of your boot drive. Not sure how you managed that.
Probably gonna need a reinstall, might be a way to fix but I suspect it will take longer than a reinstall would.

While I was installing fresh Win7, on the select drive screen there was 100 MB reserved partition but I've added that 100 MB on HDD or SDD(I'm not sure which one) Because everytime I install Win7- which I've been installing for years- I always try to get rid of that 100 MB because I'm thinking it will look like another HDD drive on my computer, I guess I've been wrong all this time? :)

So, it's okay if I need to reinstall win7, please just tell me how to reinstall win7 again to use the SSD as an expresscache?

Average. Better than any 1366x768 display but worse than any FHD display. 400:1 contrast ratio. 59% gamut.

In comparison the screen in the Y510p has 700:1 contrast and around 85% gamut if memory serves right.

thx for the help, never mind tho
i had to set the legacy to boot from USB first
    it worked.

after formatting i realized that i installed the 32-bit instead of 64-bit
i have them both (.iso) but i think i misnamed them
now which one is bigger in size? the 32-bit or the 64-bit?

There are more than one type of panel in the Y510p. check the HMM. In fact, one of the Y510p"s panels even has 95% gamut!

Here is what I would do. Boot into the Win7 installer, go into custom install, delete all partitions on all drives, create a blank partition on the SSD using all the space on it, then choose to install Win7 to the HDD. By creating a partition on the SSD windows will not see it as a valid install location and should put everything on the HDD. Then when Win7 is installed on the HDD you should be able to delete the blank partition on the SSD and setup express cache.

While I'm creating a blank partition on SSD, HDD should stay unallocated? Should I install win7 on unallocated section on HDD or partition on HDD?

If you want the 100 MB System Recovery partition to exist, install on HDD unalocated and the installer will create it. If you do not want to have the 100 MB partition at all, create one or more partitions on HDD to fill it up, and Win7 can be installed without the 100 MB partition.

Do I really need that 100 mb?

And finally I made that 100mb part on HDD but now I got system failure during the install.

For future expresscache options, you sure that i should create an whole empty partition on SSD? Coz Ive been told that there shouldnt be any partitions on SSD for expresscache option?

Read what I wrote please: " Then when Win7 is installed on the HDD you should be able to delete the blank partition on the SSD and setup express cache."

When did I ever say to manually create a 100 MB partition? I did not. Win7 will run fine with or without the partition.

Here's the screenshot and what it looks like now. SSD is unallocated, waiting for the action! Before installing drivers is there anything that I need to know for further expresscache actions?

I'm trying to play League of Legends on my new y410p and after champion select ends and the game tries to load I get a Bug Splat error. I've tried disabling anitvirus and firewalls, as well as ensuring I have up to date video drivers, but am still having no luck.

Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it?

League runs fine on mine. Have you tried re-installing/repairing it?

Also, make sure you have the intel and nvidia drivers up to date. They've caused problems for me before.

EDIT: I've tried uninstalling all the bloatware/antivirus and restarting. Still no luck...

yep, windows 8.1. Are your drivers up to date?

If I remember correctly, using the beta nvidia drivers caused fps issues and the beta intel drivers caused the client to not even launch, so use the latest stable drivers.

Are you referring to the Intel iGPU drivers?

You're correct. I do need to update to the driver you have linked. When I try to I get this error, "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit."

I don't understand, because I had the Intel site identify which driver needed...

Okay I was able to restart with driver signing requirement off. BTW, those options in that link are not the same as mine. Maybe that is Windows 8 and in Windows 8.1 are different?

Anyhow, after restarting with that change I attempted to install the updated iGPU Intel drivers and got the same error. The setup will extract files, but it looks like once it tried to install it stops and gives that error.

WOW this laptop is the biggest pile of crap I ever had.

All of the sudden, my boot up times take forever and my shutdown takes forever. I dont know if it is normal, but my shut off time is literally over 3 minutes. It takes a while for the screen to go blank, but then the laptop keyboard is continuously lit? I hve to hold the power button until everything shuts off. Then when I start up now, it makes a weird beep right after the loading circle almost completes after the lenovo sign.

I thought it was driver errors or something, so I reinstalled to factory defaults. it made a high pitch beep the WHOLE time i was loading wiping to factory default.

Im done with this laptop and this company.

I've started to have long boot up and shut down times either, all I wanted is using this SSD as a cache and even without SSD cache it should be fly like a Concorde with i7 processor and 8gb Ram, isn't it? My old rusty dv5 had better boot and shut down times.

I got my y410p 2 days ago with windows 8 and everything was running pretty nice and fast, but since updating to 8.1 earlier today everything seems to be running a bit slower and stuttery, anyone had similar problems? if so, was it only a temporary thing or..

In a word, no. I do recall having some problems getting the update applied. But after that, it's worked more-or-less fine, with some problems with DEVICE_POWER_SOMETHING_SOMETHING_SOMETHING bluescreens. I think that's fixed, now that I went into update & found an "optional" :)mad :) driver update for Intel graphics.

I'm also getting errors in Event Viewer such as WHEA- Logger event id 18 and 0, i'm guessing its driver issues as my laptop is brand new, just got it on Friday. Can anyone please kindly assist me? Thanks so much for reading this and i hope to hear back from you guys. :)

Well he said somewhere around a 50% more and my computer just like yours is the 48w/h which also gave me 4 hours. so hopefully a 50% more would be 8 to 7 hours which would be really really awesome. Quck question since you have the same laptop and batery and the same time how much battery do you get on it today?

YOur Y410p is the 1366x768 version? So the y510p has better screen quality than the y410p?

Man.. I didn't know there was much of a difference between the two versions.

Mine is also 1366x768. Still looks good though. Have you guys been able to get USB 3.0 to work on Win 7? My y410p came with Win 8 and I put on Win 7 but I can't seem to get USB 3.0 working. When I plug my External HDD (USB 3.0) into the blue port, a notification pops up saying something like your Device can work much faster if its plugged into a 3.0 port but I have it plugged in. I have also installed the appropriate drivers for it as well. Please please can someone help me??

Mine is also 1366x768. Still looks good though. Have you guys been able to get USB 3.0 to work on Win 7? My y410p came with Win 8 and I put on Win 7 but I can't seem to get USB 3.0 working. When I plug my External HDD (USB 3.0) into the blue port, a notification pops up saying something like your Device can work much faster if its plugged into a 3.0 port but I have it plugged in. I have also installed the appropriate drivers for it as well. Please please can someone help me??
