It's not confusing when you understand those aren't physical scans. They are estimated arrivals. Your machine could still be in China.

Got the shipping notification on April 29, still no tracking number. Is this normal?

 

call lenovo customer service they will give you the tracking no.

 

Canceled an order 2 weeks ago and today I got a shipping email. what the hell Lenovo?

Received shipping confirmation today (May 2nd, 2011). Can't complain about that!

I ordered mine on Sunday 5/1/11, and it's estimated to ship on 5/12/11. Based on what others have experienced, should I actually expect 5/12?

 

I got a shipping notice for a 2nd order as well. It'll just go back, unless my partner wants it. If I get the price match, it'll be $1131. He doesn't know how much of a steal that is!

 

The delays we've all been experiencing were due to a parts shortage from Japan. That seems to have been sorted out now so I would expect your order to be shipped before the 12th.

Well sounds like people are having better luck than I.
I ordered a w520 with the 80 GB SSD boot drive + 500Gb HDD, 16GB ram on 4/10 with estimated ship date of 4/25.
Today is 5/2 (week overdue). I spoke to Lenovo today but they couldn't tell me why it didn't ship yet or even when it will ship. Useless ... I will call every day until I get some answers. &

 

Still waiting for my tracking number hope it comes soon. I want to track my package

stuck at KY for custom clearance.. oh well more 24-48 hours waste..

it's been in KY for last 3 days already what a productivity when it comes to shipping from china.. sucks

 

So my tracking thing says "Warehouse entry clearance details, necessary for customs clearance, have been requested from the receiver." And it says its sheduled for early delivery, as in il get it tomorrow. What does this mean? Is it being held by customs or not?

Me too. Get the following message. Weird thing is the update page also says I was originallly suppose to receive it on Thursday and it's been updated to Wednesday.

Let's just hope the "receiver" got the request and hurries up with it.

If anyone speaks to Lenovo regarding this, I'd be glad to know. I called the rep who sold it to me for the past 3 business days to find out what the status was and couldn't reach him.

Anybody in Canada know how long it takes to get a tracking numberI got a shipping notice on monday. I talked to my rep yesterday and he said it did not have a tracking number yet. I think he said it had to clear customs first.

Looks like my 2nd (first order) W520 is getting delivered today...

 

I was in the same boat but -

My "early delivery" just got rescheduled to the original day (tomorrow). I almost got my hopes up but I sort of didn't think it possible since it still said it was in Kentucky, waiting for clearance.

 

I just got the shipping confirmation email for my second W520 order placed on 4/26/2011. This is the same exact lead time as the first order on 4/10/2011. I expect to have it by Tuesday.

 

If it has to clear Canadian customs first, then there's little point to a tracking number. I think most Canadian orders go through USA, i.e. the same routes that the American orders go through, and then are ground shipped to Canada. So by the time we get the tracking number, the laptop should be at our doorsteps within a few hours.

 

Since they go through the US does that mean it has to first clear US customs, and then clear Canadian customs?

 

Yes, they have to clear both customs.

 

Mine was shipped Monday too, I don't understand why Canadian orders have to wait to clear Canadian customs for the tracking to work, but US customers can see shipments as soon as they leave Shanghai. Considering the journey from Shanghai to US then Canada's customs is 85% of the journey the tracking is all but useless.

 

My 4/26 order still says est. shipping 5/15. But I can always hope that it may ship early!

 

Indeed. Especially if you live close to the customs; the delivery would be made on like the next morning.

as canadians we get screwed a lot in terms of prices as well including laptops. Our dollar has been higher then the U.S. dollar for a while but still we get screwed

 

I ordered on 4/10 and my estimated shipping still says 4/25 and it is 5/5 today. I call Lenovo twice daily, in the morning and in the late afternoon after the update reports come from manufacturing, however, they have no explanation whatsoever.

 

So, mine seems to be stuck in Louisville, with nary an update over the past 36 hours.

As I indicated before, the dates and times you see are GENERATED by the system based on the EXPECTED route and normal duration of each leg. If you call UPS to check on the tracking number, you have to ask them when was the last physical scan and at what location. In other words, that machine might still be in Alaska.

 

Curious, both of my W520's shipped fast, without Custom's hassles. Did you get regular shipping or the $25 2-3 day option? I paid the extra $25.

Ordered on 4/8 and finally got it today. Spent 2 days in kentucky.

 

So, not more than a half hour after I posted, I got the Import Scan, and about an hour ago the Departure Scan. Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow

I suppose it's also possible that it really did arrive in Louisville (as part of a bigger shipment, as I understand UPS World Ease to involve), and it just took them >1 day to get around to splitting up the big shipment into the individual packages.
