Hi guys, im just curious. Did lenovo last holiday season have like a 15% off Thinkpad T series coupon?
I remember that there was some huge savings but wasnt sure exactly what they did. I plan to buy mine around that time and was wondering if we'd get like 250 dollars off.
-
-
I have discovered that their coupons expire on eastern time...I know there has been a little debate about this but I am positive now.
-
-
Hey guys...anyone dealing with the R61 fiasco...would you please give me your 10% off coupon code if you are not using it? Thank you...if you could PM me, that would be wonderful
-
Get this. They didn't actually include a coupon code.....just told you to call in. Oh, and it expired last Friday...about two days after they cancelled the orders. And the cancellation and offer was sent right after they increased the prices of the R series by $100 across the board.
Got to love Lenovo customer service. -
-
THIS JUST IN!! there is a 10% discount going on. (tested on T61). all you have to do is add your customized laptop into your cart. then when you get to checkout, on the top right , there is a lil box that says you qualify for a 10% discount. click apply.
i think it is only good until Sunday 8pm (PST). so GET YOURS NOW!!
i got about $470 total savings.
i will be placing my order tomorrow hopefully. -
Great info and good job! But people will see it when they purchase anyway, so I'm not going to list it.

This is really weird, is Visa fooling us or what? in their site they say 20% for Visa holders, then I found it's only 5%.
As for American Express users it takes you to Visa holders in Lenovo site, what's wrong with them?Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

Thank you for clearing this up.
How about the American Express link takes me to Visa holders page? -
-
Thank you!
That did the trick -
Is the 10% off offer definitely over today at 8 PM PST? Any confirmations on this?
-
Is there a 10% coupon for today?
-
Hi,
I am a grad student at a school in Atlanta, how do I find out it my school comes under the Education Purchase Program? It doesnt appear in the drop down list on the lenovo page so in that case should I just go with 'Student & Alumni'? Wouild that be OK?
Thanks,
Auxin -
can we combine the visa discount and the 10% coupon?
-
-
No it does not combine with the Visa offer. The link wasn't even there if you were ordering from the VISA page.
-
Does anyone know what special offers can combine with the Employee Purchase Program? I see lots of stuff here about the education program, but I'm under the impression(and being corrected if I'm wrong wouldn't be a bad thing) that the Employee Purchase Program is significantly better than any other discount. Before anyone decides to judge, I have a friend who works for IBM - And I knew him BEFORE his IBM days - no accusations please
-
Almost none of the coupons and discounts stack with EPP. Even without stacking coupons, EPP is often better.
-
yeah...i used my dad's EPP and got a wicked deal on the T61p...too bad nothing i tried will stack with it...but still...$1400 for a normally $2000 laptop is not bad
-
-
if you use the 10% off for the general public and use the 4% FC...it comes out to 13.6% off...still not a bad deal -
Are the percentages here based on numbers shown on the configuration page? If so, right before adding my T61 to the cart on the right of the screen a price of $2441 and just underneath my price of $1739 which means my discount is 28.8%. Is that how you guys get these discount numbers? or am I way off base?
-
Lenovo EPP, SPP, Visa, and probably other discounts will vary depending on the system you select.
-
-
So then, 2441 - 1739 = 702 or the total discount, and 702 = sale(~14%
+ EPP(~14%). Great deal IMO. To get close to my T61 configuration at HP (8510x) I was looking at a lot more mullah. Besides, I always wondered how green the grass was on this side of the fence. Does that about sum it up?
-
I'm sure others already saw this one...I used this coupon when ordering through fatwallet>education today...
USXGENERIC - 5% off - stacked just fine with the current sale and edu discount.

Have my copy of vista/office ultimate from the ms store and 4GB crucial ram waiting... -
When I ordered my 15.4" T61 about a month ago through Wright State University's program, all warranties had a price of $0 on the first page, but showed up (correctly? they charged for them there) on the second.
Anyway, I walked away with a:
1.8GHz T7100 CPU
1GB (1 stick) RAM
120GB 5.4k RPM HD
Integrated Graphics
Intel 4965
Bluetooth
DVD / CDRW
6 or 7 cell battery
Vista Home Premium
for just shy of $1100 shipped, with the three-year at home warranty. I didn't want to push it with the four-year.
Not that is really matters unless you have a @wright.edu email address. -
-
i don't think anything will stack with EPP as it's already a huge discount.
-
-
Man Lenovo have really jacked up their pricing on the x-series right now...maybe they are trying to clear up their order backlog by not offering attractive pricing atm? The nearly same config I ordered through SPP for $968 (minus 6% fatcash too) is now $1300.55 through SPP. The only difference with the current offer is an additional 512MB of RAM!
Also...I noticed last night that the price of the X61 was surprisingly cheap...I configured a model for ~$930ish through SPP and I wondered why it was so cheap. Looks like it was a price mistake! Same config is now $1007That is still a tonne cheaper than the X61s with the only differences being the (slower) LV processor and ultralight display in the -s model. Seems like there shouldn't be such a huge price difference between the 2 models...
-
Their prices are pretty fluid. They seem to be adjusting according to their order load levels. -
I think NBR should allow people to make Wiki posts that everybody can edit like they do in SlickDeals forums. Now that Playmaker is gone, this thread has been totally castrated. How is anyone supposed update this guide now?
-
solution: someone create a new thread and name it 'New Official Lenovo Thinkpad Discounts/Special Pricing Guide' -

*Edit, says 10 and 15%, not sure which is right? -
Thanks,

I believe that they do not in fact check if you are EPP...

Does Playmaker have a temp or permanent ban ? -
What? Playmaker is banned? I can't believe it. For what reason? He contributed so much to this forum. I miss the squirrels
-
NBR sucks that much more now.
-
Regardless, or is it irregardless, of PM's occasional moments of acerbity, I for one, very much appreciated the efforts he took to educate and inform on this site.

Anyhow, as much as we loved Playmaker, let's just keep in mind that nobody ever really dies in a forum.
