Recent T61 Ship Dates...and so forth

Anyone have one ordered with the 14.1 WXGA+ after 7/23 that shipped yet? I ordered mine 7/23 and haven't heard a peep yet.

 

I ordered on 7/11 and got delayed to 8/27, so you'll probably need to wait too I guess

 

Does anyone know when will i get my T61?

Don't be so mad... mine was ordered on 7/12 w/ EST of 7/31, then it was changed to 8/30, then 8/31, and now 9/05

 

Apparently I am one of the NOT so lucky one That sucks.

I ordered on 07/30, ESD on 08/30 ....first time in my life I see such delay ...first time in my life I order with IBM/Lenovo!
I also find their CS terribly slow waiting times are just killing me. Never HP,Dell, Toshiba do that. Anyways...

Mine shipped from Guangzhou. It seems that all the Lenovo computers made in Shenzhen. However Shenzhen airport could not handle so many computers, so some are shipped from Guangzhou or Hong Kong.

 

Does Lenovo have a number I can call so I can bug them about my laptop on the weekends? I need this thing in 2 weeks...

Laptops stop in Louisville because they were shipped via UPS from China-Louisville, UPS's hub where everything with them goes through.

It is economically more efficient to make the computer in shenzhen than in hong kong.

Do you think the quality will be better if it is made in hong kong or some other places? I donot think so. The product line should be the same. The only difference may be the price (the salary is not the same).

Only 14.1 inch laptops seem to be shipping. I don't see any T61 or T61p 15.4' inch laptops ordered in July shipping.

I see only the T61 15.4' and T61p with 42V8601 SBB NO UWB ANTENNA are being shipped. Mine have the UWB antenna. And some of the T61p's that are not shipping have the same thing. Those Lenovo B******s are lying to us.

 

I ordered mine one the 21st, but my ESD is 9/6.

I can't wait anymore especially since everyone is already getting theirs and they ordered after me!@

Hopefully I will get lucky and it will ship next week...one can only hope.

hate to burst your bubble but AFAIK (and based on my last two TP orders) all shipments from Asia to the US are classified as Express. There is no "ground" between Asia the the US, after all

My latest TP was shipped Friday (8/3) out of Hong Kong and is due for delivery Monday (8/6) in San Francisco. And that's with the free "ground" shipping via the UPS international hub in Kentucky.

 

I am in the same boat as you lskeys. Ordered: 7/20 ESD: 8/22. Mine had the UWB as well even though I did not save the configuration and now it is gone. I hope I don't get shafted by Lenovo.

 

Lenovo are even shipping some of the T61p's without the UWB configurations that was ordered around the end of July. No, T61 or T61ps 15.4' with UWB are shipping as far as I know. The ones that are shipping says,"42V8601 SBB NO UWB ANTENNA ".

 

Why does it say "Configured System" all of a sudden?

I called Lenovo this morning. The guy I spoke to said that there was a 30 day delay on the screen from the day you bought it. He said he "recalculated it" and it still looks like September 6th. 30 days after 7/23 would be 8/22 though

 

Just to confirm, my computer arrived this morning. I forget to mention the the printer I ordered along with the laptop arrived less than 24 hours after ordering it.

So, shreesathe, even with their website saying that the webcam addition to the t61 14.1" would delay the shipping 3-4 weeks they shipped it 1 business day after your order?
I'm just asking b/c somebody suggested that this 3-4 weeks delay might be bogus.
In my opinion, it is just b/c this suggested delay is scaring people, so most of them is ordering t61 withOUT integrated webcam.

 

are you guys really comfortable with getting only a wxga screen when we could have had the wxga+ for only $30 more? I'm getting really iffy about this....I hope its not that big of a difference....screen clarity is really important to me...i don't want it to be pixelated

Awesome so far, except for the backlight leakage and the amount of crap that comes preinstalled (norton, ugh).
