I'd expect it could be due to bulk enterprise orders, which Lenovo likely prioritizes over individual laptop orders. During the early stages of production of a new laptop model, kinks like this always come up, due to the realities of the just-in-time system. If you do a search of past Lenovo/IBM generations, the same thing happened. Early order lead times were commonly around one month.
tl;dr: It could be better, but this isn't unexpected.

Ordered on 15 November. It has been shipped on the 10 December.
Started from Hong Kong, then a stop in Dubai, now in Germany. Delivery is scheduled on Tuesday 17.
Finally, one month for the whole... Building and then delivery from HK to France.
Guys, don't hesitate to call and mail DigitalRiver to get more informations. They apparently have more informations (and more accurate) than "findmyorder". -

Mine was ordered on 12/05. i7 4800MQ, FHD screen, 7260AC wireless and Nvidia GeForce 730M. Apparently mine won't even be shipping until 12/30.
-
I ordered also on 12/5, i5-4300M, FHD screen, 7260AC, but no Nvidia, and mine is still scheduled for 12/23.
i7/Nvidia combos seem to be taking longer. -
Everyone noticed you can now order the i7 quad cores WITHOUT having to get NVidia graphics?!
-
Finally received my T440p about an hour ago. First impression is that it's not nearly as snappy as I thought it would be. Most tasks seem to cause Windows to turn the mouse pointer into a loading symbol. Might just be my machine though. The trackpad is alright, it'll take some getting used to but it's not as responsive as even my five year old Macbook Pro. The laptop is surprisingly light for how thick it is. I already love the keyboard. I didn't see much backlight bleed, but the colors seem off.

If any people here are enterprise customers perhaps they could tell us how the experience has been for them.
If it is partly due to JiT hiccups then its yet another example of just how badly some companies manage their supply chains and only pay lip-service to JiT principles. One member was reporting a shipping delay due to a shortage of 8GB RAM modules, for goodness sake! -
-
I have long-since given up on WinPC makers ever making a trackpad as good as Apple's -
i5 4300M, FHD screen, Nvidia 730M, 500 GB HDD, 4 GB RAM.
It's a good kind of light. It feels pretty sturdy. While this maybe a cop out, if you don't compare the trackpad to Apple's, its probably one of the better ones for a Windows machine. They even managed to capture some of the nice things about the Apple trackpad.
Any interest in seeing it next to a Macbook Pro, Air, and/or a Dell Latitude (the only laptops I have access to ATM lol)? Or really next to anything to give some sense of scale? -
-
Have you been able to try any games out with this setup? I am looking to play Battlefield 4 and CS:GO on very low settings. I also plan to use it for virtual machines and such. What can you say about the T440P so far? -
It's HERE!!!
I'll post more info tonight... It's SOOO little compared to my other notebook...

So far, I started it with the spinning platters (which should only be used in stage performances) just to make sure it works, then swapped out the ram and drives (using 2 ssd's.. sandisk extreme II's.. one 240gb and one 480gb in the optical bay caddy)
Edit: Now I'm at the hardest part of installing any OS.. naming the thing... -

Ok, some initial thoughts
The screen is awesome
The only times I've noticed any backlight bleed type things is on setup screens or bios (when I think the brightness is 100% and there's a black background) I think it's only noticeable because the blacks are really truly black.. it's really a fantastic screen...
So, in case that wasn't clear, it's only visible if the screen is black and at full brightness... -
I plan to try out one of the Arma games if I can get my hands on it. And if I can get a demo of BF4 I would be happy to try that out as well.
Here and here are a couple albums I uploaded to give people an idea of the dimensions of the laptop as well as how it looks compared to others.
Note: I'm not trying to compare the Macbook Air and T440p at all, I'm just using it for scale, before anyone complains. I also misspoke earlier, the Dell I compared it to is an Inspiron not Latitude.kordis likes this. -
Awesome... thanks for the photos. One day Lenovo will gets its act together and I'll actually get my own T440p
A couple of thinks jump out from those photos... first, the MBPs are really nice looking machinesSecond, the anti-glare nature of screen on the T440p is glaringly obvious next to the MBP. And finally, the T440p looks nice from the top but is pretty fat and ugly from the side, which is somewhat typical of the fairly utilitarian T-series line. I'm also a bit disappointed by how much the battery bulges from the bottom

The T440p looks great, I can't wait to receive mine! It supposedly chips out on the 20th. Lets hope that sticks. It will be my first new laptop purchase ever. It would be real cool if I can get bf4 to play - nothing major just for a little fun every now and then. -
My advice is to get every update you possibly can. Windows 8.1 (if you're on 8, which is faster and handles memory better than 7), BIOS, Lenovo apps, get the wireless driver from Intel instead of Lenovo. Audit your installed softwares to eliminate as much as you can (trim systems are quick systems). I've done all this on my T440p, so ask away if you have any questions.

Perhaps you can't compare screens in the pictures, but I'll do it anyway. That Apple has a beautiful screen compared to the t440p... -
Ok, morning update
I've got the machine set up and am attempting to use it for work today (so we'll see what else I forgot to install)
Right now it's docked and running 3 monitors (2 DP, one vga) just like my gigantic m6600 used to do
I updated the bios last night to 1.17 after freaking out for a minute when hwInfo reported my second SSD in the ultrabay was running in ata mode... I'm not sure exactly if the bios update fixed it or installing intel RST did it.. at any rate, it's sata-6 now same as the main slot... (also ran as-ssd to confirm and yes both are fast)
So far the 4800mq is faster than my i7-2720...
I'm loving the machine so far -
-
Ordered 12/05. i7-4800MQ, Nvidia 730M, FHD and 7260AC. Just dropped from 12/30 estimated shipping date to 12/22 -- meaning I might get my hands on it before the New Year!

What battery life are you guys getting with a i-7 quad core and 9 cell battery?
-
Woman in the office just got her L540 in and I'm setting it up/tweaking it for her, and man, that new keyboard feels odd to type on; too smooth, muscle memory of the T420 is failin'. The F-keys are especially awkward for my fingers. A bit mushy, too. Is the keyboard the same across the board now, or does the T series use sttifer backplates?

My tab key is a little sticky-ish from time to time.. But... I think it's getting to be less of an issue... (I think it just needs a bit of wear).. but I use tab a lot so it'll get that
I ran some of my cpu-intensive things and cooling does it's job... I actually had to process some things on both machines (the m6600 and the t440p) at the same time and the t440p was actually quieter... I did run hwinfo just for curiosity sake.. the cpu got to around 82deg at most, but hovered around there and didn't throttle... So.. it performs like I hoped it would -
Both here and elsewhere over the years I've read about various issues people have had getting an ultrabay drive to behave normally (speed, spin-down, hibernation etc.), which is making me paranoid because this will be the first T-series I've used with two 2.5" drives -
Never put your SSD's in the ultrabay. Put your SSD's in the main bay....

Hi. Can current owners speak to the thickness of this laptop? Is it adequately portable? I'm caught between the extremes of the x240's ultraportability and the t440p's workhorse capabilities. If the t440p is portable, i'd like to err on that side to have access to full voltage processors and such. If you happen to have pictures to better describe that would be awesome. Thanks for your help!

Never mind, figured it out.

Just an update for the folks monitoring the shipping dates. Mine has now sadly moved from 12/21 to 12/22. This is pretty crazy from a consumers end.
-
I thought I was in the clear once mine was marked as shipped, but it still apparently has yet to have cleared china's customs after having talked to both Lenovo and UPS reps. I'm leaving town for a few days the day after it was scheduled for delivery, so it's more than a minor inconvenience that it hasn't yet been picked up by UPS.
It was marked as shipped on the lenovo ovp order detail site on 12/13 and UPS said they had a shipping label created on 12/14 but UPS has still not received the package to deliver it! Is it typical to take that long to (5 days) to go from marked as shipped by Lenovo to being picked up by UPS?
I'm just hoping it wasn't lost somewhere along the way.
Other details: I ordered 11/25 with i7-4700MQ, FHD, 730M and Intel AC. My shipping date never changed and it was supposed to have shipped on 12/13 according to Lenovo's tracking website. -
As for Integrated Mobile Broadband upgradable where can i order these parts? and is it hard to install?
