Wow 6 days for shipping? That's rough. My first T61 came in 2 but that's probably because I live on the west coast.

 

Somebody has been told that they are on the "critical build list" ???

My CSR said that, still not sure if such thing exist - anyway my laptop still hasn't shipped and I am out of patience big time.

I really don't know how some of you can wait for 6+ weeks, I CAN'T.

It looked like this was never going to ship. Like it had just fallen through the cracks. After talking to several managers. I was told I was placed on the "critical list" then the "expedited list". I was just told THIS MORNING BY A MANGER THAT CALLED ME that my 7/11 order would not ship until "after Sept. 2nd". It had something to do with a part they were out of, but he "forgot" what part and didn't have the information "in front of him."

Since I thought this order slipped throught the cracks I actually placed a second order on 8/11, ONLY FOUR DAYS AGO. After I got off the phone with the manager this morning I decided to check the status of my 8/11 order. My 8/11 SHIPPED TODAY!!!

The only difference between my 7/11 order and my 8/11 order is WUSB/UWB is not on the second order. Which I don't care. However, I don't believe WUSB/UWB is what delayed my first order. There have been many many orders shipped lately with that option. The other difference is that I paid for 2-day Express shipping on my second order.

SO PLACE A SECOND ORDER PEOPLE!!! If you believe your order slipped throgh the cracks like mine did.

I tried doing a parts lookup with my serial and 6459 as my product type but it says that it can't find it.

I tried... same thing. I guess that information isn't available.

I won't cancel order #1 until order #2 is in may hands! I will also be looking up the LCD and Keyboard. If I'm not happy with what I get I could always opt to send it back if I find out my first order has a better combo. But I doubt I'll do that because I've waited so frickin' long.

 

A question.. My order has shipped, but it does not show the serial number yet. Will that appear when the tracking appears?

Now if the frickin "Parts Look-up" would work!! You got anything yet?

 

Just tried a parts lookup again. Nothing. What was the program that some people used to find their FRUs? If parts lookup doesn't work, we may only be able to get it that way. I even talked to a rep about the parts lookup thing and he didn't even know what I was talking about. I told him my problem and he thought I was talking about accessories that come with it . I'm like "I'm trying to find the FRU of the LCD". He's like, "Uhh well your laptop has an LCD built in". *Slaps forehead". After explaining that I want to know whether the screen is made by LG or Samsung he sot of figured out what I was talking about but had no idea how to find it. He wasn't even aware of the "Parts Lookup" page I was referring to.

 

I think our information should be available within about 24hrs from ship time (fingers crossed). It seems like I remember a few other people that had this problem.

Filling Station? Why would a plane need to go from KY to Alaska and back to Ky to fill up? Or California to Alaska and back to California?

Seems like that would be like me driving my car on a 200 mile round trip just to fill up my tank. My tank would be half empty by the time I got back.

BTW, I don't claim to know much about planes

 

I believe it's been mentioned here before the documents that go before the cargo are scanned first. Therefore it "appears" you package takes a rather illogical flight.

 

That makes sense I guess. The papers went straight to Onatrio, CA but the package was routed through Alaska.

You all are fairly lucky. Mine is heading for my old address and I can only hope the address change goes in before UPS tries to deliver it. Apparently my order got sent to the factory right before I called Lenovo last Friday to change my shipping address. Oy. Now instead of like 2 days, it'll take 4 because it has to all the way to the midwest. An only Lenovo can change it, but the rep said it takes 1-2 days because it has to be approved by several departments. Bureaucracy FTW!

 

Man, I'm hating Louisville right now. And I'm also hating Parts Lookup. It better work before I get the box

Yes same here... That is very odd. It seems though, when this happened yesterday in HK it still made good time coming into KY, so we shall see.

 

What the he11 is going on with parts look up??? Still not working today.

I had my fingers crossed that my laptop would arrive today. Looks like it's not going to happen unless it has left from KY and not showing up yet.

 

Last night, it said Rescheduled Delivery Aug 16. Talk about false hopes. Mine is just now "In transit" to KY, even though it had all that brokerage crap in KY yesterday.

 

Well mine arrived in Ontario, CA but that was last night at 10 PM but it's 10 hours later so I don't know where it is now. Last time it showed Ontario, CA and then it was at my door step with nothing in between. Hopefully it doesn't get delivered before the address change goes through. Also parts lookup sucks.

 

Seems like there is always something not right throughout the entire ordering process
