Mine had an extra three months until yesterday when it was changed to what it should have been.

Where did you check your warranty status and what information do you need to access it?

Did you get yours yet? Is parts look up working for you?

Warranty information is found on parts look up. On the "results" screen, click get warranty information.

This is what I got
    Type: Model: Serial number:
    6459 CTO XXXXXXX

Warranty service upgrades & maintenance services Warranty service upgrades and maintenance services

    Description:
This product has a three year limited warranty and is entitled to IBM EZServ service. Customers may call their local service center for more information. Dealers may provide carry-in repair for this product. Batteries have a one year warranty.

I never paid for an extended warranty. I ordered with EPP discount, but I don't think that includes a three year warranty. BUT I'LL TAKE IT!!!! :D

Sweet, I guess I have a 3 year warranty. Even though I only bought one year! Awesome! Unless it's a glitch...

My reroute request just went though. I would have had it today if I didn't need to reroute it. I'll get it whenever it gets to me half way across the country. It shouldn't take too long since it's express. I hope to have it by Wednesday or Thursday.

Nope. I paid less with EPP.
Did you purchase with EPP like I did? I wonder why they gave us 3yrs.

Well that's awesome...I'm glad you guys are benefiting....I, however, am getting the short end of the stick...so called worst screen, worst keyboard, and the standard warranty...what have I done to piss Lenovo off?

You would think they would offer the better stuff to EPP consumers as those are the most likely to stick with thinkpads forever

Well during configuration of my system the last item on the first page was warranty. The choices were all there for onsite and depot for between 1 and 4 years. The price of all of them was 0.00. I chose 4 years (duh) then on the next page I added the TPP for 143.00. My laptop was purchased through the education/states portal. The default warranty is typically 3 years from computer companies.

How do you know you have the worst screen? Did you get your laptop yet? Otherwise it's impossible to know if you have an LG or Samsung. Chicony also isn't bad and many people like it or have no complaints. Also have you checked what warranty you have? I signed up for a one year. I purchased through education and I didn't know I had a 3 year warranty until I checked it. I assume we have 3 year warranties because of parts shortages delaying our orders. When they upgraded us from expedited to express they might have also changed our warranties from 1 year to 3 years. Just a guess.

It's probably 512 MB total which is 128 MB dedicated + 386 MB virtual. So I'm pretty sure they didn't give you 512 MB of dedicated.

Look in the properties of your video card. You'll eventually find the window that has the number listed. It's useless to know though.

At the warrenty lookup page after you have done the lookup for your machine, click the button that says something like "show parts list for this machine."

Then it shows you a list of parts, your LCD will have its own number.

Ordered on the 15th and recieved it today. Very quick service I must say! Beautiful laptop although I love the screen, there is a dead pixel almost in the middle of the screen. Going by my experience with my R51 with the IPS screen and it had stuck pixels which have disappeared over time, so hopefully this will be gone too. Anyway it really doesn't bother me since it's hardly noticeable even on a white background. First thing I did after receiving it was to remove the Vista and Intel stickers. :)

I think I have the Chicony KB since the feel is really springy, but it has a nice feel to it. No keyboard flex so I'm very happy. Oh and the best part is that I have the 3 year warranty on it without paying for it. ;) Monitor FRU: 42T0422 42T0423 , Keyboard FRU:
    42T3241 42T3273

Can you please run pcwizard to see who made your LCD? I have that same FRU but can't confirm a manufacture anywhere!

I'm pretty sure they will update your warranty to reflect what you paid for it -- they did mine.

enjoy your screen, I know I love mine, even though there is a stuck pixel. How does it look? viewing angles? stuck/dead pixels?

chad: congrats, how is it? didnt your FRU say it was a sumsung?

This screen has even more even light than my R51 IPS to be honest. I am really digging this LCD. I cannot see any sparkle effects of any sort and the viewing angle is pretty good too. I think you're really gonna like your LCD, chadwicktr. ;)

BTW, This LCD is really bright!

Mine should be here tomorrow, or maybe thursday at the latest. The FRU on the parts list was 42T0423 which there is nothing in a HMM about it, nor nothing on any forum.

It's taken me 3 WSXGA+ orders to get an LG and 6 T6x orders to get anything besides a Samsung! I am so stoked!!
