T61 Delayed

Just tried to check my order status and got this error message:

This page is currently unavailable.
The site administrators have been notified of the problem.

Nevermind, the ship date still says 8/31.

 

I think they're trying to get all the end of May beginning of June orders out, which were likely promised to get to them by the end of june. This way they'll have the few days before june 26th to get all delayed May 9th-24th orders completed. Us unlucky ones that ordered in that time period have been added to the back of the list(probably because they couldn't figure out how to put is in the front), and they're trying to get all the one in the front completed so that they can get to us. I'm willing to be there is a cutoff date of like june 11th or something. Everyone before june 11th(or a short time before that) will recieve their computers before us, and everyone that ordered after that date will on the back of the list behind all the delayed orders.

I don't even know if this makes sense, but it makes sense in my head.

I ordered mine(custom) on 06/05/2007, and today I just got confirmation it shipped, along with a tracking number.

Invoice also updated with a S/N, I'm assuming it's fully built and badged.

I had reorder t61 on 6/5 and it shipped 6/13 from HK UPS express. EST DEL 6/15. Is there anyone's order ship from HK?

 

Mine's coming from HK; EDIT, sorry shipped on 14th.

 

It looks that the orders that are shipping are mainly with integrated graphics. I wonder if the video card contributes to the delay.

 

*NOD* I settled with the Intel gpu. Saw no need for the nvidia quadro gpu.

I had the Webcam AND NVIDIA Graphics and my order placed on 6/7 shipped yesterday 6/13 via UPS Express with an estimated Delivery date of Friday, 6/15! Wow, looks like they upgrade you from Free Ground shipping automatically!

 

darn it! i should have just reordered. my order from 5/17 is still untouched, unshipped, and still missing the missing parts... anyone else in the same siutation?

I have a hunch that people ordering in May, then cancelling and ordering again are getting the suspiciously fast ship dates.

I had previously ordered a T61 on 05/16 and had cancelled twice before this order (forgot to do fatwallet discounts and messed up on my config) on 05/30. I got the integrated graphics if that matters to anyone. It is shipping from HK.

 

Hey there... yes, I did place an order on 5/23 for the same exact system with the same exact specs, HOWEVER I have not cancelled yet. It is still "In Progress"

well i had an upcoming ship date (18th), and nothing had changed, so I called Lenovo to confirm that it will still be shipping on the 18th. I just got an email saying that it will now ship on the 26th.

so who are the ones getting the freebie email?

does lenovo not tell you that you are screwed until the very day your item should ship? thats quite the shatty service...

take a towel! and sit with us to cry for our laptops! it seems like someone at lenovo doesn't like us! that's why they are shipping later orders!!!!

 

They're building them. I called to cancel mine, and the Rep said it would take 24-48 hours because you can no longer just cancel the order - you have to tell the factory to stop building/not ship the laptop.

Now Lenovo has to accept a $ loss and sell my laptop as refurbished. Take that Lenovo!

I am surprised .Mine was shipped on 6/12 and I got it today. I placed my original order on 5/9 . I changed the configuration on 6/7, they canceled my original order booked the new one and they shipped it after 5 days.

Just checked the web-site for like the gazillionth time since ordering on 5/29 and reading about shipping delays and guess what? It shows a shipping date of 6/14!
Until this morning it still showed 8/30 (I never got any emails from Lenovo explaining why the 6/8 I got when I clicked the order button turned into 8/30).
No tracking number yet, it says that the tracking number will be available the next morning (so tomorrow). Did not get an email from Lenovo that it shipped, maybe I will get that tomorrow as well.

No it isn't. Many people's T61 laptops with webcams have already been shipped. Stop spreading rumors.

 

it seems like lenovo is just throwing together systems as fast as they can and whatever seems to be in front of them is what is getting shipped first

Except they are not building 5/9 to 5/25 group. The systems they are rebuilding are either cancelled and reorder or after the above mentioned group. They are still showing lemons to most in 5/9 to 5/25 group.

 

I have been following this thread and lenovoblogs since i ordered my T61 on 5/21,

my ESD was 6/7 then they gave me a new ESD as 6/26, then i got a "freebie" mail and they rebooked my order with the missing parts and gave me a new ESD as 6/29.

I am from Malaysia.

Yesterday i saw the 1st ever T61 advertisement in the papers.

I called up the distributors if they had the stock, they said wait till end of the month. What's the point of putting up ads in papers when the stock is no in.

They only have the stock for the 1.8 model of T61

 

Just an updated on my shipment, looks like they really speeded it over here (it shipped on the 13th so it was 2 day, just looks like overnight because of the time change between here and HK). No idea why it has two out for deliveries either.

Do most people (who ordered on 5/9 - 5/25) still show a ship date of 8/03?

 

I ordered on 5/29 and have a shipping date of 8/31!

 

Disregard the 8/30 ship date...When you were ordering your computer was when there was a bug in the estimated shipping date system. It still gives inaccurate dates, but not in late august. I would expect your system to ship out within the next week though. It seems that everyone who ordered from like may 25th to about june 7th or 8th has been randomly getting their systems shipped. I don't think they were able to put the delayed orders in the front of the queue so they're doing orders from around the time your ordered first and then when your orders were supposed to ship is when they'll start sending out the delayed orders.
