    Yup. With integrated camera, Nvidia 140M, Turbo Memory...and Vista Ultimate.

    I didn't mind waiting for a bit, but when they keep on backing up their dates, the sense of trust just isn't there anymore. Who knows when they will ship now!!?!

    I guees I'll have to set my mind for some more weeks to get my T61.
    It is just amazing Lenovo's way to deal with this issue. The "best" info I have got is either from this thread or thru Lenovo's corp blog.
    From their side, I have gotten pure lies so far.
    BTW I was also promised a match on original price but due to system issues (really??) they'll charge full amount and reimburst it after it ships (if it does some day!)

    LOL... what a joke! Glad I got my SPP T61 order already... I'm gonna hang onto the Meyers order to see if I can get my Free 6-Cell battery then just sell the other machine on eBay.

    Last night I received an update on my original 5/17 order, and I was so excited!... until I pulled up my order and all computer parts have disappeared and my total says $0.00.

    I don't know what happened there, i haven't had time to sit on the phone to call lenovo. i sent them yet another email, but i don't expect any replies since they haven't replied to any of my other ones from last week and 3 weeks ago.

    If they tried to rebook my 5/17 order, they haven't sent me a new order number yet. god, how much worse can it get? has anyone else had their order "destroyed" to nothing $0.00 by lenovo?

    my order was scheduled to be shipped today and has now been moved back to June 29th. Honestly they just invent dates for orders to be shipped and when that date passes they just invent another date.

    Well....my 2nd estimated ship date has arrived and it is still listed as "in process". Big surprise, i know. I just can't wait until I wake up tomorrow morning and receive a 3rd estimated ship date for like 7/14 :( . One good thing is that my claim with the BBB finally merited a response from Lenovo. Granted, all the rep said was "we will continue to monitor your order and expedite shipment as quickly as possible." Don't know how much this will actually accomplish, but at least now I have a personal contact number and won't have to wait 2 hours to speak to someone.

    OK, I received a call from Lenovo. I was told that my T61 order, which was ordered on 5/29 must be re-ordered because I am using "Bill me later". They promised that mine and all other T61 orders would be shipped no later than the end of next week. So, 2-3 more weeks of waiting for me! Yeahh!! :(

    Oh man I thought I'd get bumped to July but I guess, in some weird way, that was wishful thinking. My new ESD is 8/24!!!!! This is just GREAT! I really hope this is just another case of a mistaken ESD or I am canceling my order asap. There is no ****ing way I'm waiting 2 more months.

    I originally ordered 2 T61's (7100's w/NVIDIA) on 5/14 with an est. ship date of 5/31, which was pushed back to 6/18, and on 6/18 I checked the status hoping to actually see shipping info and they pushed the order back to 8/9. If that wasn't enough I checked back later that day and the order got pushed back to 8/10. I spoke with someone from the Customer Relations Management Team and he told me that he thinks they should ship by all the T61's by 6/28, but could not and would not promise that the date wouldn't get pushed back again. He couldn't give me any solid information to rely on so I finally gave up. I am afraid that they are going to push machines out as fast as they can and the quality control will be down the tubes. I cancelled the lenovo order and ordered to Dell D630's with a ship date of 6/26 (7300's without a GPU). I am currently using an R40, which I have never had a problem with, but this lenovo experience has caused me to lose any confidence I once had in lenovo. Good luck to everyone waiting for their T61 orders and I hope the quality lives up to the hype and reputation.

    It's not just Dells that were having battery problems. I have a T43 with my company, and they swapped out my battery.

    It wasn't the fact that Dell made the computers that was causing the batteries to catch on fire. It was a problem with manufacturer of the batteries, which I believe was Sony. The battery recall included a slew of different manufacturers, not just Dell. Someone from my company actually had one catch on fire, but I don't remember what type of machine she had.

    Probably. This whole battery thing happened several months ago, though. It's been resolved. I consider it a non-issue, personally.

    That's just amazing! They say u'll get 2-days shipping for free as if there was be any gain to us.
    They should just do what they are supposed to: BUILD & SHIP THE MACHINE ON TIME!
    I also ordered on 06/01 w/ESD 06/20. No communication yet from/to Lenovo. I just don't bother anymore cuz reps say what ever they think (or told by their supervisors). My ESD is still today though and I keep my hopes up.
    As per the LCD backorder, I will put it in the same basket along with all different excuses I (and lots of people in this forum) have got from them. They will ship the T61 whenever they can...
    Hopefully they will solve their issues and put their logistics together and we can all receive our notebooks.

    FWIW..

    I sent an e-mail asking about the free gift to those who ordered in Mid-May.

    I was told that the gift e-mail went out to those whose delays were caused by the computer error. My delay was supposedly caused by a "stock issue" and thus not eligible.

    I guess some people's time is just worth more than others. Lenovo, you suck.

    I've responded to that e-mail. I would call back, but it seems as though the phone reps don't have any power (or will) to actually do anything on the customer's behalf.

    The thing that really irritates me is that I'm willing to wait it out, I just wish they'd be more upfront about everything.

    that's funny, the thing that irritates me MOST is the fact that I am unwilling to shop around and look for other, possibly cooler laptops. I just wanna wait. it's so sad. I am lame.

    Incorrect Order Status Information *Updated 6/20* from Lenovo blogs!

    I have some new information for everyone, so let’s dive right in.

    Our rebooking process took longer than expected. We invested in the auto rebooking approach because we believed that all orders could be processed virtually overnight. This has proven not to be the case. As you are aware, complications with pricing arose and we suspended the auto-rebook process until we were confident we were honoring the original order pricing. With further refinement, we did resume and concluded it last night without further incident. The number of orders that we have had to process manually, due to part of the order already having shipped, or to correct the pricing issues, was larger than expected and lengthened the total project.

    Order completion is still being affected by internal rebookings as well as changing component availabilities. So while some of you have already received your systems, others continue to see August ship dates. We still expect the remaining delays to clear before the end of June.

    A lot of you have noted that other people who have ordered after those affected in this group have gotten shipment notices for their orders. I know this is extremely frustrating, but please understand that while we have people working hard on fixing all of these orders, other orders which don’t require rebooking can be processed in parallel and stopping them would help no one. Our production capacity is not the bottleneck here and these new orders are not delaying the processing of your orders.

    The big question then is: why can’t I cancel my order and place a new one? The answer is that you can. But why wouldn’t you want to do that? Regardless of what path you take, we will have to modify your order. Right now we are about 80% through all of the affected orders and pending any further issues, will have rebooking completed before the end of this week. Cancelled orders take resources away from those working to fix everyone else’s orders and the reality is that by the time your new order is processed, your original order would likely have been processed. The net result is that cancelling & re-ordering will likely not get your order processed faster and only serve to delay others.

    As we are nearing the end of rebooking these orders, more details are emerging and I will continue to share more concrete information as quickly as possible. I know many are running low on patience. I do believe the finish line is in sight, and appreciate all those that stay and cross it with us.

    Still no promise of shipping!
