I ordered on 5/21 and I still have a ship date of 6/7. I'm hoping that date holds up.

-
Same here either,
Order 5/21 ESD 6/7 -
Similar here - I ordered on 5/19 but also have an estimated ship date of 6/7. I'm really hoping that holds up - but it isn't looking too promising, as people who had ship dates in May still haven't seen theirs ship yet. Unless, for some reason, they live in Canada. There Lenovo is apparently ahead of schedule. Makes you wonder if it's really a shortage of components, or something else?
-
I also ordered mine on the 19th and have an expected shipping date of the 7th. I e-mailed them a couple days ago and got this back:
-
-
one thing i don't understand
if it is a website error (predicting shipping dates)
why don't they just fix it.
i have a feeling it's on purpose (how hard can it honestly be!)
that's their proof that they didn't ship late.
you'd think changing that date would be TOP priority
imagine how many phone calls they've had about that......
they could easily stop people from calling about it -
Exactly my thoughts. Plus it wouldn't hurt sending out an email to everyone who has ordered one letting them know about the delay. I called a few days before my est. shipping date telling them I know my computer is going to be delayed and that I would like to know for how long. Two people rudely told me that there was no delay and that my order would ship out by the est. shipping date. Well it didn't and now I have an august 31st ship date that they are telling me is an error. I don't believe anything they tell me at this point. -
They may not be able to configure their ERP software for this particular issue to fix those dates. It isn't as simple as entering a date in. At their volume of orders coming in, they will need to rely on a separate software to rely on calculation of their order fulfillment process.
-
I just spoke with a rep...asking about my September ship date (ordered 5/30). She laughed whenever she saw for herself that the date was in September, and said that the correct date was three weeks from the time of order.
I feel better. -
Who said BBB is worhless.
I got the phone from LENOVO directly today. The guy is very polite and explain what they know to me. He told me his informaiton is my laptop orderd on 5/9 will be shipped on 6/10. However, he can not gurantee. And he promise the two-day or fast shipment and price protection.
Now, he will check the status make sure my laptop will be on time and call me back. If it has any problem, he will also let me know by phone call.
Don't you think it is worth? -
just curious, how do you know BBB had an impact on the call from Lenovo?
-
Yes, he told me BBB informed LENOVO so he got involve to understand the case and take care of me..
-
hey not bad! one of the few times ive seen BBB do anything
hope you finally get your machine.
-
I think they've fixed this software of est shipping date problem.
I recently found that x61 is better to me so I cancelled my order for t61 and placed another order for x61 at lenovo.com, on Jun 2. It shows the est shipping date is Jun 21.
And this morning I called to cancel my t61 order. I only hold for 25 mins. Good good, they are improving... -
Well, I called this morning to try and upgrade my shipping from the standard ups ground. The rep I spoke to(who was rude and in a hurry to get off the phone) told me his computer was showing a ship date of 6/8 and that he wouldn't be surprised if it shipped earlier. When I asked him why it was delayed in the first place, he told me that it was because they were out of stock on the screens. "They had everything to make the computer, but the screens." So this is the 3rd different reason I've been given by 3 different reps. This guy says the screen, my sales rep told me it was the case that they ran out of, and another rep told me that they were out of stock on the chassis.
Anyway, I went on to ask for the upgrade in shipping for compensation of the delay and the hassel it has caused me. He told me that even if he wanted to upgrade the shipping, that it would put my order on the back of the list because he would have to send a note to production which would be like cancelling my order and putting in a new one. I told him that was a pretty inefficient way to be running things, and ended the conversation.
Now I'm finding out from the guy above that you're getting upgrades in shipping and all that. That doesn't sit well with me. -
Here is my letter from their service department:
Dear XXXXXX
Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of ThinkPad and ThinkCentre products!
Your order is estimated to ship mid June due to a back order on the shell of the system itself.
If they become available before that date it will ship at that time.
If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 1-866-42-THINK (84465) option number 2,
We will be happy to assist at that time.
Once again thank you for contacting Lenovo.
***Please reply to this e-mail for further assistance.***
Sincerely,
Lenovo Websales Team
www.lenovo.com/think/us
So as you can see they are saying its the shell. There is no date given for delivery either. Officially I am still listed as shipping... tomorrow. So we will see at that point where I get update to. -
There is a new post today on the Lenovo blogs:
http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox/
Also, I chatted with one of their Project Managers via email, and this is what he had to say about my order (placed 5/24):
-
I purchased on 5/16 with an original ship date of today (6/4)...but that has been pushed out to 6/21 now.
-
I'm having the same problem - Original ship date 6/4 (today) which was changed to 6/21. The customer service rep I spoke with said they were just unable to meet the unexpected demand. When I asked if I could speak to someone who knew the exact reason why my notebook was delayed, he said that was not possible. Thoroughly unprofessional! Has anyone had any luck contacting David Churbuck, the apparent VP of web marketing? I have half a mind to contact him.

Go ahead to send the e-mail. It may not get response.
But I think we should just go ahead to deliver this delay infomation by e-mail, forum, BBB, blogs.
Let Lenovo heard customers' voice. They play this trick again and again.
-
-
They should all "Upgrade" our ground shipping to Free Second day shipping due to delay on their part as we did already planned our things based on the date given to us by them.
-
-
I did my part in writing to the Lenovo blog regarding the delays order in fullfilling our orders. After all, why put up a shipping date when the laptop CTO is not ready.

those of you who have gotten responses from lenovo via email, what's the email address you used to communicate with them? They haven't answered my email at all and it's been a week. I used the customer service email listed in my order tracking email.
-
[email protected]
that's the email they provide in your order confirmation.
I've waited for 5 days though. I think you may just need to wait a little longer, they will get back to you. -
Pick up your phone and give them a call? That usually guarantees a response in under 12 minutes.
-
I just called at 6:30pm Eastern (after waiting 30 mins on the phone) and the status I got is the T61 just started going into production yesterday and should be shipped shortly. The rep indicated a few T61s were shipped when it was 1st released but it wasn't many. Now that it's in production they should be shipping any day now. Unfortunately one never knows if the rep on the phone really knows what they're talking about. Lets cross our fingers and hope this is the truth

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give a heads up that Lenovo just sent me an email that the "Advanced Mini-Dock" portion of my Meyer EPP order shipped today. My system is still slated to ship 6/11/07.
Anyone want to place bets on if I will ever see the laptop? LOL! I would find it funny that Lenovo would be willing to ship me the Mini-Dock at the EPP price but not the rest. Of course my luck it will be canceled and Lenovo will expect me to use a dock with out a PC
I will keep everyone posted as to what happens come Monday! -

The latest from Tim Supples on lenovoblogs.com:
I just want to assure everyone that we are taking this issue VERY seriously and will be posting more information about this soon. We have seen everyone’s cries of pain in customer blogs, discussion forums, of course on this blog and are working on a resolution at the highest levels in the company. I understand you all are very frustrated and fed up at this point - I can’t blame you. But I promise we will make this right, just bear with us a little longer.

Well I don't mean to rub salt in anyone's wounds here but I'd take anything Lenovo's computer system is telling you as sketchy at best. I ordered a T61 on Monday after the ordering person assured me that there was no delay and that it would be sent out pretty quick. Well the next day I got an email from lenovo saying "We have placed your order in priority sequence and we anticipate your order will be shipped within 3-4 weeks." So here I thought, Oh crap I was lied to and now I'm screwed (about this time I read this forum and realized that I wasn't the only one with this problem). So imagine my surprise when this morning I get an email saying that my computer's now been shipped and I'll get it in about 4-5 business days (I've confirmed this with people on the phone)
So long story short don't take the emails estimation date at face value, they seem wildly inaccurate. Though this is all happening in Canada and maybe things just run smoother up here I dunno. -
damn, another canadian getting theirs first, conspiracy i tell you...all those sales reps are in canada!
-
people in canada have been getting their systems...not in the U.S. though. I think I could call 50 different times and get 50 different answers(if that's even possible) from the customer service reps as to when my order will ship, and why it was delayed in the first place.
-
The problem is the reps do not know. It is not their fault at all, it is just a lack of communication between sales teams/production teams.
Remember not to freak out on the reps as they are just doing their job and really have no idea other than what they have been told (which in this case is obviously not much).
Just sit back, relax, and wait. If you want your notebook now go to Best Buy or some box store and pick it out. Even Dell has had huge order delays in their past (which I have waited through) so do not feel like it is the only time this has ever happened with build to suit product! -
I just got my shipping info. Order was placed on 5/29.
-
Are you in the USA?
If so you are lucky, I ordered 5/21 and have yet to get any shipping info...estimate is tomorrow though (6/7) -
-
Yea, Im in WI and amazed at it shipping.

Seems Lenovo is going to give up the customers who put the order first but satisfy the others. Becasue we have been upset enough and cannot be more frustrated.

I put my order on 5/9..
