T61 Delayed

my estimated shipping date is 06/08, which is about 26 hours from now. Still I haven't received a notice saying it will be delayed or so. My T61 will have a integrated camera with nvidia graphic card, and vista business 32. Keep my finger crossed.

 

Damn. I hope the board is flooded with hi-res pics as people get them. I'm living day to day as it is. That may be the only I have left to keep me sane.

 

my t61 that i ordered on 5/15 with nvidia card is delayed till 6/18

and i dont even have a camera was originally soposed to come to me on 5/31

 

I ordered on 5/21 with ESD of 6/7 (tomorrow). Please don't delay my order! Please ship out like colt's!

I got the webcam on mine, so I'm hoping it doesn't get delayed.

I ordered my on 5/9 and the original ship date was 5/28, which then was changed to 8/30. I still have know idea when it comes b/c when I emailed I got a repsonse (on 6/1) that it would be 2-3 more weeks.

 

what are the differences between yours and mine to make it 8/30 instead of 6/XX ???

 

Is there usually tax for these orders? I thought online sales only charged tax for instate sales and I was charged tax for my order .

 

everything is the same except i got 2gb ram, CD-RW/DVD-Rom, 6 cell and I didn't get the lojack

 

in a couple hours, your est ship will change, probably to something like 6/21

 

so your battery and cd-rom? maybe there is a different case for one of these changes (bigger battery??)

 

I ordered on 5/11 had an estimated ship date of 5/30 and got a new ship date of 8/31 last week. The 8/31 ship date is an error, at least that's what they're saying.

 

Maybe they'll be scared more if you said it in a creepy girl's voice?

Here's a surprise for you all [/sarcasm]: right at midnight Pacific Time today, my "Estimated Ship Date" on the order status page changed, without reason, from "06/07/07" to "06/26/07" - a nearly two week delay - and apparently they couldn't even be bothered to send an e-mail! There's customer service for you.

I spoke with Jenna at customer service yesterday and she said that they were going back into production with the T61 on Sunday and should start shipping the T61 again next week.

When I first told her that I was waiting for my T61 she gave me a date of the end of June. When I express surprise that I ordered my 5/9 she revised her statement to the above.

Has anyone heard how Lenovo plans to make it right with the customers? (Tim Supples on the Lenovo blog) "But I promise we will make this right, just bear with us a little longer."

 

I think Tim Supple just means getting the laptop into your hands--no collective "reparations" should be expected. if you call them and complain about it on an individual basis, they might do something for you.

 

Honestly, any dates a rep tells you are purely guestimates. Until they actually start building/shipping the T61s on a steady basis any date you hear is just a guess. You will be getting better estimates by taking a dart, throwing it at a calendar and see what date it lands on. As of yesterday my order was still in the queue and I received an email from a Customer Relations Manager that stated " there was an invalid configuration and they were working on the deviation". What the hell is up with that? What the hell does that mean?

Same exact thing here. Ordered 5/20, with an original ship date of 6/1. That was changed to 6/7, and then last night again to 6/26.

The funny thing is I ordered a second laptop for my sister on June 3rd, and the ship date on that is 6/21!

 

I ordered a Dell Latitude 620 after a week of calling Lenovo about my T61. The Dell is waiting to deliver now.

I just called Lenovo and they said it's at least 10 days to 2 weeks out (I think they meant production) - He said they still haven't shipped orders from mid may (as we know). My order was May 25.

FYI since I'm playing Dell and Lenovo off each other, apparently if you refuse shipment on Lenovo you get charged restocking fee 15%, but if you accept, don't open the box, and send it back you don't - or so my rep told me, anyone know if it's true?

Accoring to my Dell rep I can try that out for 30 days and return it if I don't like it for no restocking fee.

I hope these guys aren't lying to me.

 

That's only because the first shipping estimate they give you is approximately 2 weeks away. It's only on the actual ship date that they push it back by usually another two weeks.

Getting no answers from their customer service reps, I have decided to complain to the BBB, which at present is proving fruitful as I received an email from one of Lenovo's program managers. I hope to get something concrete from him when I speak to him.

 

Seriously, this would be a good move for Lenovo. Even if they only do it to a few lucky individuals - and those individuals had extremely big mouths - word would get around.

More likely, Lenovo will include a free roll of toilet paper with every purpose.

 

That is promising, maybe I will file a complaint as well. It isn't so much that the date has been changed, as the lack of communication about it from Lenovo.

 

I have filed another complaint to FTC about the deceptive advertisement
of the shipping day.
It will not resolve individual consumer problems.
I just want this suck situtaiton be examined.

I've filed a complaint with the FTC and Better Business Bureau. Who knows what will happen but I won't sit back and just get dicked over with false information.

With another 2 to 3 weeks delays and add free ground shipping delays of another 7 days! you may not see your laptop till end of first week of july! They should upgrade to free 2nd day shipping for all effected customer! can u take a vote here! and have lenovo see what do we really want?

 

It's actually a good sign for me to see someone got his/her t61.

I would rather believe that lenovo is working something out.

 

You just don't want your product to be shipped without enough testing right? I think we should wait, we can bargain for some free upgrades and free second day shipping but let's not push'em. We want quality laptop that lasts longer don't we all?

I ordered one from buy.com because I need a computer by the end of the week and it's already been delivered. Grrr....

Now I'm on hold trying to return this one with the specs listed above.

I ordered it on 5/25 and I called them to cancel on 6/5 as it had an estimated shipping date of 8/29. I need the computer before 6/15. So I canceled and ordered one from buy.com which arrived today. Then I find out that the lenovo.com one has also shipped today. So I called to return it and was told to call them back when it arrives to return it. Those are my specs.

I did not use this "Meyers" thing.

I am worried about this random selection for delivery! why select 5/31 and why not start with 5/9? in serial order! if parts are not there! inform them the situation! and inform them the part selected by you XXXXX is causing delay! if you like to change order then call our customer service! but nothing like that! i am really disappointed! i am happy that colt got his, but not happy about the fact the way he was chosen.

 

It could be because the options you made when you customize your computer take longer time for them to get.

 

Another logic behind this was they will deliver all the computer whose ship date was august! first! and rest of us later!!!!!!

 

I don't see any change with colt's configuration and some people who ordered earlier! not major difference! CDRW or DVDRW shouldn't coz much of a difference.

 

Hope it is true then that will make me feel better.

However, I almost get the same configure as freelancing..

Did you order it in Canada? They seem to be getting their laptops there. Did you have to coax them to send it to you sooner? I ordered mine on 5/16 and My estimated ship date still shows as 6/21
