It has got nothing to do with canada! it has to do with the lotto system they are following!

The problem is we love to hate lenovo but at the same time we like the quality of their laptop, that's why we are ready to wait, wait wait till god knows and they are taking advantage of it.
-
If you want quality in a business laptop, come over to the Dell side.
-
Wow ! I am so mad at Lenovo. I called today to find out if my order - placed on 5/17, scheduled 6/5, last minute change to 6/22 - is going to ship anytime soon and the CS guy says all he knows is that there is a delay in manufacturing and i'll have to wait till the new estimated date.
I asked him if he can expedite shipping when they finally get around to doing it and he said he doesn't think thats a good idea because it would delay the order even further since a request like this will change its place in the queue.
How can their system be so badly prepared to handle customer service requests like this ? I dont know of any other online business that could not just upgrade your shipping to make up for their mistake. Do you ? -
-
-
If dell put a dedicated graphics option in the 830 I'd consider it.
-
Dells laptops do not come close to thinkpads in build quality or feel. I have used too many dell laptops to count and tons of thinkpads and there just is no comparison if you ever get around to using one in person vs. looking at the pictures on the web. -
-
It is meant for business orders where the business agrees to everything ahead of time and then lenovo ships it out. It is not as flexible to change things along the line like some other companies can at this time. -

Dell blows chunks

cobalic cont'd:
AAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA -
Anyway, all this to say that there are good reasons to stay away from Dell. -
Wow didn't think this thread was going to get this big, I'm glad that I canceled my T61 order and went with an X60s through a reseller. According to the FedEx tracking I will be getting it tomorrow. I ordered my T61 on 5/9 and probably wouldn't have received it until 6/20. Everyone else, good luck with your orders.
-
My order from 5/21 was supposed to ship today (6/7) and I just checked the order status and now the ESD is 6/26. I didn't get an email about a delay though. I thought everyone who got their order delayed received an email?
-
LOL you guys are great, I knew I would ruffle some feathers.
-
yAY!
just got bumped from est. ship date: 6/8/07 to 6/26/07
no e-mail

Changed today from Jun. 8 to Jun 27.
-
Got mine delayed as well, june 8 to june 27, at least they sent me email, are u guys gonna cancel ur orders?
-
Well right now I am typing on my new X60s, and so far I really like the thing, when I first took it out of the box I was completely surprised by how light it is. I'm kind of glad that I canceled my order, now I have a much smaller laptop with almost twice the battery life.
-
Hi all, I ordered in the middle of may, and originally had a ship date of 6/02. It later was changed to 6/08, and today, without any e-mail notification, to 6/27.
I gave a displeased call to Lenovo, who explained that Lenovo gives no guarantee of a shipping date (which I understand, but it doesn't help my problem), but they said that my order would go out the 18th or 19th as the build date was the 15th. I asked the representative to confirm this, and he said he was sure that my estimated shipping date was wrong.
I'm not sure if this applies to all, but hopefully, the computer will be shipped out then. If it takes much longer, I won't be able to receive it and I'll have to cancel the order. -
I received a call today from the "executive" area at lenovo to address my concerns and issues. Once again they can not give a firm date of when the T61s will be built other than an estimate. Until parts come in the machines can't be built (see lenovoblogs.com for the information on missing parts). Right now the guestimate is June 26th
-
this makes sense since we're seeing people who ordered after 5/24 that are now receiving their laptops since the order system bug was fixed after that time.
i wrote in a separate thread: i think they should just cancel all orders that have the missing bezel problem, and provide the original buyers of those orders with an one-time use unique coupon code to place a new order that would allow those customers reorder by themselves to minimize mistake, place those orders on the top of the queue, AND offer a significant discount as reparations for this fiasco. -
-
My questimated ship/build date of June 26th isn't due to my order being invalid (based on lenovo blogs) because I reordered mine on May 31st which wasn't during the time of the affected orders. My original order of May 9th I cancelled.
-
"Furtunately", I also cancelled my original 5/9 order. I made a new one on 6/1 and my ESD is now 6/20. I have contacted several times the sale rep that asisted me with the whole canceling - reordering thing and he keeps on confirming that my shipping date is 2-3 weeks from P.O. date.
Now there's really no point in trusting them now, is it? -
Am I seriously thinking about cancelling my order from 5/11 to put in a new order on 6/8. What a fiasco! Maybe it makes more sense to just put in a new order and see which one gets here first and then cancel the one that doesn't.
-
I really didn't expect it to ship, but it did, and I got it today 6/8. Just to give some hope to people, the kind I needed when I was waiting. -
i agree with the giving out of one time use coupon codes
i doubt they could even program that wo work though, as they can't even get the right date to print on the website!
i've read a lot on lenovoblogs lately, and they keep saying "we'll make this right"
i asked on there HOW they are going to make it right, but no reply.
the fact of the matter is that unless they provide monitary conpensation (or discount) they won't be making it right.
merely shipping them now is not "making it right" -
Well, after reading the update by Tim Supples at lenovoblogs.com, I called in to the Lenovo CSR about my order (05/09). My order is apparently confirmed to be built at the factory and due to be shipped out the 3rd week of June. Will see how that goes. I tried ordering the same configuration and it is much more expensive and the ship date is the same. So, I will wait.
-
if you have delayed plane, you will get the voucher. I think we deserve the same treatment from Lenovo. It is just good faith to do business. One month delay is really challenging customer's tolerance.
-
Dont forget it, it is LENOVO, non-normal company. -
Lenovo is the worst. Unfortunately, I told myself a little over a year ago that my next computer would be a thinkpad. My friend had bought it when I began college. His thinkpad outlasted all the dell and HP's that everyone else had. I don't buy computers often, so when I do, I want something that is going to last and is customized the way I want it. The dell 630 was the only other computer that let me customize the build I wanted, but I didn't want another dell. They were the only brand of computer I've ever bought and I was sick of them.
So now I'm stuck in this mess of a situation. Somehow I'm going to manage to get my t61 before grad school starts on august 15th. -
Anywho, I have since canceled my prior order and made a new one. Currently the estimated date is 6/27 which is only one day off from what the canceled one was that I made 3 weeks ago.
I will report back to as how things go. -
getting a Dell D630 is quite tempting now.
they might not be as good as lenovo, but they ship when they say they will, and don't have these unacceptable problems -
But then you have to live with it for X number of years vs. waiting a few weeks for Lenovo to get into gear and ship the T61.
-
Ordered on June 25th and just received this response from web sales:
Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of ThinkPad and ThinkCentre products!
We have looked into your Lenovo order ******. We have been advised your order is expected to ship mid June (the week
of June 14th) due to system stock issues. I had both the parts in which they have been having problems with. Hope this helps all those awaiting information. -
I called CSR a couple of times. They told me that they won't begin building the T61s till June 18th. This explains why everyone's shipping dates got pushed towards the end of June regardless of when you ordered it. I ordered on May 27.
-
dell does take care of customers. Ive been offered "concession" coupons multiple times when they delayed the shipment of items I ordred. this came in the form of $20-$50 coupons. thats not bad because dell sells many other electronics.
-
If you're at the friggin terminal, and you ask one of the bloody attendants why the plane is delayed... welcome to Lenovo customer support.(Deny, deny, deny, bull****, bull****, deny, deny, bull****, deny, deny, more bull****... etc.)
It's still better because you're talking with someone face to face, not like Lenovo which can put you on hold indefinitely. -
What is all of this speculation about shipping delays? I've seen this link posted before, but I'll post it again: http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox/
Doesn't this clear things up. It's not excusable, but isn't this the reason for the delays? -
-
I think most of the anger is over the handling of this delay and thereby produced a lot of investigating into what is really going on. Not only were the orders listed without bezels but they actually forgot to order them as well. They forgot to order the bezels for their newly launched T Series laptops. That is amazing. That is a logistics screw up of monumental proportions.
Can you imagine Ford launching their new 500 series automobiles and when they get to the assembly line realize they forgot to order the bumpers? You would say somebody is asleep at the wheel and this coming from the Thinkpad line is well, unthinkable to most of us.
I don't recall this ever happening under IBM on their coveted Thinkpad line. Therein lies the concern amongst us who are already concerned over the Lenovo buyout to begin with. And it's 2007 as the year that IBM appears to have truly let go of any involvement in the Thinkpad line. -
Hopefully that is the truth though for the people that ordered in those dates with the issues posted on lenovoblogs.
Problem is all those electronics are usually $20-$50 overpriced
I got one of those coupons and found it useless as it required me spend like $200 to get the $40 off. -
you got the shaft then. mine had no restrictions. and dell does have some really great deals at times (canon gear is one example). point is, that they try, which is better than "uh sorry, we are really trying hard"
-
I'm a bit confused as it relates to my own order. Mine has said 8/31/07 as a shipping date ever since before I ordered it on 5/29. I've called several times, and they've assured me that the date is a bug in their system.
But since my order date falls outside the 'problem' dates that Tim Supples mentioned, shouldn't this have been corrected by now? Also, I requested a shipping address change a few days after my order, and it STILL isn't reflected on my order page. Argh! -
-
-
I called this past week to see if that was a mistake or not, and they said that because the computer is brand new, it isn't even out on the market yet, so I shouldn't expect it until late July at the EARLIEST! I'm going to call again in a week or so and get an update and maybe cancel my order at that time.
