yeah this is weird! if that ETA is true, there must have been something that had gone wrong with the shipments. all the other big players have had their laptops out already, wats up with that? 3 months for a laptop.......i would wait that long if it could cook, clean, drive and came with a million dollar villa and yacht!

THEY HAVE NO IDEA, the reps are not being told and thus cannot tell you!
You are just slowing everything down as they are having to devote man power to answer all these phones and those of us with real issues (Shipping Address Change, Order Changes, etc.) cannot get through in a timely manner! -
Hi guys, I just wanted to come in here and let everyone know I have my Dell D630 already. It came 1 week after I ordered it
Oh guys, it has a bright screen, a magnesium body (no need for roll cage), and wonderful battery life.

How long does it take to make bezels... Doesnt seem like it would take tooooo LONG.

So you would be rather feed a line that is not true instead of just not calling?
I fail to see how reps knowing nothing and reps making things up are not the exact same thing....
They are saying what they think but every reps stories seem to conflict and not be the case.
Just let them work it out, I have been on the other end of these types of things and it is not fun for anyone but you do not need to keep calling and asking for info that is not there. -
Does this affect only American orders, OR all available orders from all countries.
This is because im trying to see if i should order with visaperks from lenovo or straight from compusmart (where i dunno if visaperks applies to all productS). -

knowing nothing, and making things up is COMPLETELY different.
if they would at least admit they don't know, i wouldn't have so much need to be angry, but when they promise it'll get shipped, or there'll be no delay, or give incorrect info on when the T61p is gonna get released it's a different story.

-Ordered between 5/10-5/25
-Ordered the 15.4" screen
-Ordered Nvidia + XP
Luckily, I don't fall into any of these categories...but I'm still showing the late August ship date. -

Well with my T60 I originally had it shipped via ground and now its being sent express. Shiiped on Fri supposed to be here monday.

i thought it was funny the way he said it.. im pretty pissed that i havent recieved my laptop yet.
they have told me that they have changed my order to being sent 2 day express. but thats all i have heard from them...
im thinking about canceling my order if it doesnt ship by the 18th like they say its going to. although i really dont want to get a dell.... -

If everyone is getting expedited shipping by default, then I retract my previous statement. At least in part.

A: No. Approximately 64% of the backlogged orders placed between 5/10- 5/25 are due to the bezel / data entry isse. These will need to be rebooked to correct the error on our end. We are working this weekend on an automated solution for this, and failing that, we will need to resolve the orders manually. We hope to have the solution early next week."
Levono knew there was a problem for weeks but is only now rebooking orders, and worse yet, they don't even have the process for rebooking the orders worked out! Assuming they have the parts now, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing the notebooks ship until Monday June 18th.

i think you get it as long as you as you complain about it taking so long.. then they change yours... but they are not taking the time (or money) to change anyone who isnt complaining..

You are outside the really bad zone though. Try doing a find on your page for 929 (ctrl + f). That is that last 3 digits of the parts that they say are missing from some of the orders and causing delays.
When I reordered I noticed my first order that fell in the problem dates was missing the 929 but my new order has it on it -
Gosh darnit !@#$ Lenovo! I ordered 5/24, got an initial ESD of 6/6 then changed to 8/30 and my order status page doesn't include that part, so it STILL HASN'T BEEN MADE YET!!!!! .: EXPLODE :.

you should give the D630 a try. I bet you won't be 1/10th as disappointed as you thought you would.

Well, while I appreciate the enthusiasm Sirius, the fact remains that the D630 would very highly disappoint a lot of us - because I like getting more than 6 FPS out of my games, and being able to do some occasional 3D modeling. And I happen to appreciate a decent paint job (that won't leave the palmrests and corners bare in 6 months), keyboard, and touchpad - and owning a Dell laptop, I know how bad those aspects are. Trust me, I highly considered canceling for a D630 - but without dedicated graphics it's just not an option.

Tim Supples said in lenovo blogs that they will be working hard to rebook / fix all the orders last week, Did they fix it? IF yes! then what's the new ETA for shipping dates?

nothing has changed yet. I ordered exactly a month ago to this day. It was originally supposed to ship on 5/30, then changed to 8/31. I'm trying to be optimistic but it's looking like the 8/31 ship date is going to be accurate.

Just got off the phone with them, told them how long it would take and they said they would release the hold on my credit card, and from here, it will take another 2-3 weeks to build it. Had I not called, I wonder if they would've kept on holding my credit card status..

Just got off the phone with Lenovo, mine still says 6/11 but she thinks it'll be pushed back to late June. She stated that she believed it was the demand that was causing the delay and not a part issue (but then also admitted she hadn't seen many of hte T61s shipping out).
I'm glad corporate is keeping their customer service reps in the loop. They're definetely going to get a complaint letter when all is said and done. This is ridiculously, especially for people who might have business on the line and need a notebook ASAP. -
I just spoke to my rep and he said that as far as he can tell, the system is still set to ship out today (6/11) as has been my ship date since I ordered on 5/23. He said there was nothing on my order or system showing any delays. I'll take it with a grain of salt until it really ships.
However if mine will be delayed, I am curious as to why my shipping date wasn't automatically changed to a future date at Midnight, or shortly there after this morning?
I guess only time will tell. Maybe it will get updated tonight once it's no longer 6/11. Any thoughts? -

It's so obsurd that it has been almost 3 weeks since these problems began and an e-mail has yet to be sent out to let customers know the real problem. Not everyone spends time on forums/blogs to find out this info.

My online order information has not changed, but I received an e-mail to in inquiry and it says that mine is expected to ship on June 18th. Fairly excited!

I think we should all order dell and not cancel lenovo's order. We'll keep whichever comes first but, if dell comes first (which is more likely) we can return it and let lenovo suffer a big loss! If everyone does! that will teach a lesson to lenono not to jerk customers around.
