That's what I thought too. I mean, how official can it be if Lenovo isn't trying to make it reachable by everyone?

Okay. I won't fight and if I get my computer before December, then I win.
-
I have a better idea - hand to hand combat with Lenovo sales reps and assorted sales/marketing retards. All customers vs. Lenovo staff. Customers can bring their old laptops. -

6/11 est, email says "1-30 days", apparently 30 days equals 8/2.

Meyers "EPP" Order
Ordered: 5/23
Original Ship date: 6/11
Updated site ship date: 8/02
"Quoted" ship date from rep: 6/26
I finally spoke to my rep this morning and he said that the new ship date of 8/02 was wrong (ya think!) and proceeded to tell me that the computer would ship out no later than 6/26 and maybe sooner. With 4-5 days of shipping time, that put my order out ANOTHER 3 weeks. I said this was unacceptable as I had placed another order (SPP + Coupon code) through this same rep on 6/7 with a ship date of 6/26 also.
When I asked him what the problem was, he said it had to do with the displays. I told him I was on the verge of cancelling and very frustrated and he said he would send emails to the warehouse to put both my systems on the "Critical Orders" list in order to expedite my orders if possible. So my question to all of you is, is this a load of BS or is there actually a "Critical Orders" list? Has anyone been been told this supposed info yet?
I'm really frustrated, but I know the minute I cancel Lenovo will start shipping these things out by the bus load. -
Some little tid bits:
If you want to cancel an order, save yourself the trouble and use their email as posted in the blog. It takes a few days but you do not have to sit on hold or worry. I had placed two orders and wanted to cancel one, last friday I emailed my order number and customer number and said I would like it canceled. Today I got an email saying it was canceled and I checked the status and the order no longer exists. Much easier than sitting on hold or trying to talk to a rep. It probably took a bit longer to since I did it over the weekend which I do not think sales works on.
Also as far as the crtical list, I have heard it exists and does help, but they still have to have the parts to make your laptop so if there is a parts delay it still will not help much. -
I won't cancel my order until I order another laptop. I mean, what do I have to lose by not cancelling? It's just that no other company (I would consider buying from) is selling a Santa Rosa 14" with dedicated graphics... -

My rebook notification just came through. I can't say that it's any better than what they changed it to before. I'm going to call CS and if it's not shipping by Friday I'm cancelling and getting a Dell. I do plan an letting Lenovo ship it to me and then returning towards the end of my return period for the heartache.
Order Date: 5/9/07
Original Ship: 5/28/07
1st Update: 8/30/07
2nd Update: 8/17/07 -
mine says that it will be shipped by monday... if thats not the case im calling and asking what they will do for me if i dont cancel.
if i dont get a nice deal out of this dell can have my money instead. -
This thread has 37 pages?!?!?
I wonder if P will be out with top sellers faster than from lenovo.com -
why don't someone post this link on the lenovo blog.
-
maybe lenovo will respond more when the complaints spread beyond niche forums and obscure company blog. -
Yeah, if engadget can cause Apple's stock to fall, maybe they can send Lenovo straight to hell.
-
-
Consumerist would be good to tip as well.
-
i called and got the response "Third week in June and worst case senario June 29th." The worst case senario is one month after my original estimate.
-
i finally got a sales person...
she said that they were expecting to send out my order on the 26th.
my shipping date says the 18th right now....
if it isnt shipped by the 26th im going to switch to dell for sure...
i just configured this system...

A nice site where you can make some noise about Lenovo's schedule mishandling is http://consumerist.com/. Those guys live on stories of consumers mistreated by big companies. The front page has email addresses and AIM contacts to submit your story to the editors.

well, I just checked my order status page. Estimate ship date changed from 8/31 to 8/17. I ordered on 5/11, but what's encouraging is that the two missing parts are on my order status page now!
42V9633 SBB STAND LCD C/B:14.1"W/O CAM
42X0929 SBB MECH MISC PARTS
Next step is for lenovo to make all these orders priority over everything else, and ship them to us. -
Wait....you ordered on 5/11 and your ESD is 8/17? Wow, that is horrible.
I thought mine was bad. I ordered on 5/14 and my ESD is 6/19. -

Lookie Lookie at what I just received......
Dear Valued Lenovo Customer,
As you may be aware, some Lenovo Thinkpad T60 and T61 orders placed between May 9 and May 25 have been delayed, and some customers ordering these systems have received inaccurate or conflicting communications concerning estimated ship dates. We know this is unacceptable to you -- and it is unacceptable to us as well. We aspire to have an ordering process that is, like our notebook PCs, second to none. We apologize.
We have been working hard to identify and resolve several problems that have contributed to these delays. We expect to have the vast majority, if not all, of the affected T60 and T61 systems built by 6/26/2007. If you do not want to wait for shipment, you may cancel your order at this time by responding to this email or, if you prefer, by calling the toll-free number listed below.
We thank you for your continued patience. As a gesture of our appreciation, please select one of the following items as a free gift after receiving your computer. Please indicate your selection by placing an X in the appropriate box, entering your original order number, and reply to our LenovoCriticalOrders team at: [email protected]
[ ] 6 Cell Battery for extended run time P/N 41U3198 - T61 / R61
[ ] AC Adapter P/N 40Y7659
[ ] Premium carrying case P/N 73P3597
[ ] Original Order Number
Your continued business and trust is important to us. We have begun a public discussion on these issues, and are offering details about the causes of these delays, on one of Lenovo's official Blogs, "inside the box". I just got this email two minutes ago. I already canceled my original order and placed a new one. I'll still argue for one of the freebies after my order ships.

If that's real...
Gee, they've finally admitted they screwed up, apologized, gave an ESD, and are giving us a free (albeit small) gift. Not bad... -
I feel like I'm being completely left out!! I'll wait a little bit to see if I get it. I waited so long now that it cannot hurt.
-
-
I have received the same email too.
But now I have a problem: a friend of mine and I ordered two T61s in the same order. I think it would be fair that I receive two compensations for this order. Otherwise, we would have to discuss hard on who gets it.
Any thought? -
-
Just so everyone is aware, I looked up the prices of the free gifts they are offering and the 6-cell battery is about 3x the price of the other two. This actually worked out really well since I opted for the 4-cell battery in my order.
Edit: ****, I just noticed on the Lenovo website that the 6 Cell battery they are offering (P/N 41U3198) is actually made for the T60/R60. God dammit, does anyone know if this will be compatible with the T61? -
Did your status\shipping date change today? -
-
I thought I read on pcmag.com that the battery is not compatible (in the review) but I might be wrong.
-
-
I haven't gotten the email yet.
From pcmag: "Batteries are not compatible with previous T60s. You'll need to upgrade the battery." ( http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,2127379,00.asp)
Hah.. wouldn't the be funny if they gave us a free non compatible battery? Ha...heh.... heh... :cough: No... no it wouldn't. -
-
-
Haha you have to see the humor in it....
Just when I thought Lenovo was trying to make up for their lousy service, they offer us free gifts that won't even work with our laptops. God, i love it -
-
Order date: 5/29
ESD: 8/30
shipped: 6/6
delivery: tomorrow
Sorry to bring it up, but I will post some picks of it. Wether or not you enjoy seeing it is another question. Glad you all got something free after this ****. -
