Crap, I should have ordered through my J&J employee plan and pay $50-100 more rather than wait about a month or so longer to get it... =/

Ronan and I both actually work for Lenovo and we're just claiming our T61p's have shipped/arrived to fool all of you and to get your hopes up.

Been on the phone for over an hour now. After they pushed back my ship date, they decided to increase the price 30 dollars. I need a beer. I was told the line the screens were the cause of the delay. Should I ask for a gift for my troubles thus far?

Edit: Now they say they will give me an exact ship date in an email after the woman I spoke to talks to her supply manager. They did restore my price though, so thats one small obstacle overcome.

ok then. I'm officially past the patience point, went blowing by pissed off and am now infuriated. Lenovo clearly has no ethics.

You reading this Lenovo? YOU SUCK

Fricking thing better be perfect or I'll be screaming every defect from the highest rooftop, you will get no quarter from me.

I can't believe this crap. What kind of ethics and professionalism do they teach in China anyway?

The teaching of such subjects is outlawed in China, MonsterMaxx. ;)
I might have to call again and push for that. What exactly did you tell them?

Got through today on my order. BTW, pressing 2 for sales gets you a human within 5 minutes each time (at least for the few times I've called so far).

Anyhow, they are checking with the factory in China to get me a firm ship date and supposed to hear back tomorrow. Also was told the critical list is 'full'.

Nice. BTW, I called my account rep at CDW and ALL of their orders for this month are ALREADY sold out and committed to customers. So forget that option. Plus you have to choose from their pre-configured systems of which at the present there are two choices. Or so I'm told.

I ordered an ultra bay battery already... for the free battery i told then i was told that other people got a free battery and that i was told it was going to ship on this or that date and that the last rep told me that i would get a free battery if it did not. so call and tell them your calling to make sure you get the battery they promised..

Yeah I have to lol at the priority list. Basically they "add" everyone "automatically" to the "priority list" once yo go past your ESD. What does this mean? It means your laptop ships out first zomgzorz!!!!! Think about that..the orders on the 11th ship before the orders o the 12th ship before the orders on the 13th......see the pattern????? I love how everyone is freaking out to get on the "critical list". If everyone's on it, then it's not a critical list anymore!!

If your order went past the ESD you're on the list already, just like everyone else which means your order will be shipped before everyone that placed their order after you....It's like jacking up the price 15% then having a 10% off sale, everyone goes nuts and pays more for 30 items they never would have ordered if they were cheaper but not on sale.

    ...

Where did I say file a BBB report? Use the BBB for the contact # to Lenovo Executive Relations. Thats where I got a x60t swapped for a x61t + ultrabay for no charge to me. They are also holding on to it while Im on vacation and will mail it out when I contact them to my college address. The people there actually have authority vs the cs reps who cant do **** no matter how people abuse them.

FYI those people you accuse of lying to you are all in the US...

called them today to see what's up. I was told my order was "re-placed" and that's why my shipping date got bumped back all the way to Sept.

What happened, was I called a week ago to ask if I could downgrade to Home Premium (a big mistake I now realize). They told me I couldn't, and it would likely delay it even further, so I said, "ok, then don't." Well, some bonehead apparently did change my order, cancelling my last one, to change vista, except they even put down the wrong vista (i got basic). Now, I dunno what they do all day over there, but they've really gotta get their thumbs outta their asses. The last time I called I ended up specifically saying "don't change my order at all, please," and they effing changed it. I'm pretty damn furious to say the least...

I think I'm reaching the point of going with a rock pc instead. The Pegasus 670 looks like an alternative to the T61p that I'll never receive. I now have to call lenovo again since they increased the price of my machine 113 dollars from when I first ordered.

    Lenovo Group Limited

    Complaint Description:
Lenovo Order #: Problem Date, 7/31/2007, Purchase Date 7/11/2007, Expected Ship Date 7/30/2007 New Expected Ship Date 8/31/2007. Sales Rep:Mohammed Tahir w/ Lenovo Employee Purchase Program. Payment Amount 2465.97 American Express. Complaint: Ordered my T61P laptop online on 7/11/2007. Initial ship date was 7/30/2007. On 7/30/2007, ship date changes to 8/31/2007!!! Other T61P orders are being processed and shipped, Evidence exists that other customers ordered T61P same model laptop on 7/27/07 and had their laptops shipped for 8/6/2007. I made my purchase within the 1st 6 hours these laptops were available from the website on 7/11/07, but my order is being ignored, being pushed back a full 30 days from expected ship date, and 50 days from the order date! Lenovo Employee Purchase Program managers were left two tickets on two separate occasions to call me and explain why my laptop order is being ignored, and why people who order the same laptop after I did are getting theirs even though I have not received mine. Managers have NOT called me back. I am being treated unfairly, and ignored by Lenovo management. Current pricing on quote for the laptop alone is 2160.00, Lenovo has said it will price match within 21 days of shipping, it has not shipped, and the base price of the laptop has dropped on the website from 2160.00 base price to 1957.00 base price. This is a 203.00 difference that needs to be applied. An additional 193.61 is to be credited back also for a July27 expiration e-coupon that was to be applied by the service rep, but he said he will apply after product ships. Model#: T61P 6459CT CONFIGURED SYSTEM $2,160.75 42V8192 SBB INTEL CORE 2 DUO PRCESST7700 42V8173 SBB MS WIN VISTA BUSSINESS 64 42V8472 SBB MS WIN VISTA BUSS.64 US EN 42V8288 SBB 15.4 WUXGA TFT 42X0819 SBB NVIDIAQUAD FX 570M W/WWAN 41W2059 VBB 1GB PC2-5300 667MHZ 2DIMM 42V8195 SBB KEYBOARD US ENGLISH 42V8297 SBB UN(TRCKP TOUCHPAD)FINGERRE 42V8169 SBB 100GB HDD,7200RPM 42V8193 SBB INTEL TURBO MEMORY 1GB 42V8172 SBB DVD REC.8XMAXDUAL LAY UB-S 42X0805 VBB PC CARDSLOT EX CARDSLOT 42V8177 SBB INT.WIRE.WIFI/LINK4965AGN 62P6054 VBB INTEGR.BLUETOOTH PAN 42V8187 SBB THINKPAD WIRELESS USB ADPT 39T6651 SBB 9 CELL LI-ION BATTERY 39T6442 SBB COUNTRY PACK NORTH AMERICA 42X1524 SBB LP-US ENGLISH 40Y8519 LENOVO USB WEBCAM - WEB CAMERA $63.96 40Y6789 LENOVO THINKPAD ADVANCED ULTRABAY BATTERY - NOTEBOOK BATTERY - LI-ION - 2700 MAH $85.68

    Your Desired Resolution:
For settlement I am seeking that my laptop be built and shipped immediately, that 193.61 be credited to me for the July27 expiration e-coupon on thinkpad notebooks, as well as a 203.00 credit for the difference in base price between my purchase date of 7/11/07 and recent pricing, which is the difference between 2160 and 1957 for the laptop alone. In addition,I am requesting a 500.00 credit on top of the aforementioned pricing discounts for Lenovo treating me poorly as a customer, for lying to me about reasons why my laptop is not being delivered to me, for unfairly shipping laptops to other purchases who purchased AFTER me, for shipping laptops to top sellers like CDW even while forgetting that my order exists, for not contacting me either by phone or email to explain why my order has gone missing and is being ignored, for keeping me on hold at times for more than 50 minutes before being able to get a hold of a representative, for those representatives being completely incompetent at contacting the factory for the status of my order and the reasons why my order is being ignored, and finally, for first saying my laptop would ship on 7/30 with a 7/11 purchase date, and to then pull a bait and switch on me, with a new projected ship date of 8/31. I have no faith that Lenovo will ship my order at anytime, because when the new date rolls around Lenovo is just as likely to just change the date again, and never ship my laptop. I am furious with Lenovo, and I expect the Better Business Bureau to make a large black mark next to Lenovo's name for it's improper care of customers, lying to them, and baiting and switching them with misleading ship dates and lack of any accountability for the products being purchased.

This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response if appropriate. Please allow up to 30 days for the business reply. You will be notified when the business has responded.

I doubt you will get what you want.

Lenovo will just think that you are trying to profit off of them. Make youself look like a victim (you are one) and open a dialogue between them before asking for some sort of compensation. Also dont ask for too much maybe just an upgrade or something. No way they will give in to this unless they want a flood of other customers asking for the same "compensation". Bascially if they agree to it they would be admitting that they intentionally misled you etc which they wont do. For one you have no real proof that an identical system ordered after you was shipped already. Anyway good luck with it.

p.s. Lenovo isnt a part of BBB, they answer complaints purely because they want to. I have a strong feeling this will be closed by BBB after Lenovo tells them that the date was "estimated" and it will be closed under "performing under contract" or something.

Iv had plenty of fun with BBB before and various stuff like this. I had to duke it out with Lenovo to get my X60t replaced. Before I had to deal with Dell for some jobs at various internships and for my Latitude X1.

Anyway Im not sure how Lenovo can deal with this. This may not be within their control unlike say agreeing to a replacement notebook. Again the best bet is to try your luck with their Executive Relations.

p.s. Before you call list down all the things you did and what you were told. Basically show how much you got screwed over. Dont get angry however angry never works. Ask for why was your order delayed and what can be done to speed it up maybe exchanging a component. If they tell you it is because of a certain component then ask whether you can have them change it to something else. Here is probably where you can get a free upgrade out of them.

they cannot say the date was estimated because the t61p was "delayed" thus, the estimated date no longer applies. albeit lenovo will think of something to counter what i have said lol

Why is Lenovo having such a problem with this, they should have pre-made models that would be "custom built" but it's what the customer ordered anyway. It really can't be that hard. At least I know that when I want to order accessories for this laptop I won't have any trouble, Tiger Direct gets my stuff here fast.

Here is the latest from lenovo:

"I am being told that the laptop probably will not be arriving in time for your school. It probably will be another week or two."

That came from a rep I have been dealing with. Very nice rep. Very quick to respond.

Another week or two, ugh, that's not what I wanted to here. Isn't there another shipment going out on the 10th?

Just to document it for future reference when my order gets inevitably delayed:

    Ordered: 7/27
ESD: 8/29/07 (has been that date since I ordered)

Wouldn't be so bad to wait if my t42 screen wasn't completely dead.

I ordered yesterday and then found this thread. Is it the contention here that these laptops ship 30 - 60 days after ordering, IF LUCKY? Are you guys considering other models or just waiting it out because the T6x series is the tits of the laptop world. I am coming from a HP NW8000. The warranty expires this month and the thing is going bonkers with BSODs. I have had 3 solid years out of it though, so I'm not complaining. Whats the consensus?

    Wow my ESD is 9/8.

I do not think the systems are exactly the same that are shipping. Your system has wireless USB. SBB THINKPAD WIRELESS USB ADPT. The systems shipping now do not. That is the main hold-- up. I have not seen any of the T61 15.4' or T61p with SBB THINKPAD WIRELESS USB ADPT ship yet. :nah: :nah: Plus, Lenovo pulled the wireless USB configeration off their order site. The system I ordered on 07/20/2007 has the wireless USB adapter. Some that were ordered the beginning of August without that adapter have shipped. Lenovo is misleading us, and will not own up to the real cause of the delay. :realmad:

I kind of thought the wireless usb was a default kind of thing on T61p's. is it no longer? i don't even remember selecting it?

If thats really the case, I'll be pissed. I don't even want WUSB. But I have a feeling that if I cancel my order, and reorder one, it wont help me out at all, only hurt me.

Well, I posted two separate posts at Lenovo blogs about how they're ignoring the T61P purchases. And both of them got squelched- they've been changed t *pending moderation* which basically means I've been moderated and they're not letting the public know that they've really screwed up.

Wouldn't it be funny, if they put the T61P on sale, without having ANY parts in inventory? They sure know about demand with a new model, the same chaos happened at T61 launch. Yet even though they have knowledge of the demand for T61p, they didn't stock more inventory, or let the suppliers know to have more ready to go. Lenovo either has really bad intel, or its suppliers suck compared to other companies.

I have a pretty good track record with HP, but always wanted to try the Thinkpad. I have owned HP Presario 1800, Presario 2800T, HP Evo N800c, and now the HP NW8000. The hardware support has always been great, but of course IBM/Lenovo also share a reputation for the same type of service. If Lenovo doesn't start getting this unit out to you guys that ordered in July (to give me some hope) I may order the 8510w(p) (at about a 700 dollar additional cost, I might add) in duality and decide on which to keep or if it is worth waiting for the T61. I have been reading a bit here now and it seems that the slowly the IBM Thinkpad is TRULY becoming the Lenovo Thinkpad in more ways than simply name only.
