The one I ordered on 7/11 with UWB has shipped today.

 

ordered 8/4 and shipped already? WTF? I ordered on 7/17 and I've seen nothing yet.

 

Well you won't... it's not even 8/17 yet. I suspect when 8/17 rolls around and you order, things will start to happen.

My order from 11:33:24am on 7/11 has still not shipped. So apparently they aren't building in order.... or perhaps something else is constrained.

I have been reading this forum since I ordered my T61p on 7/11 at 12:40 pm. I have been frustrated with all the stories Lenovo has given me......fortunately, I looked at my status page this morning and there it was....IT WAS SHIPPED ON 8/11/07. I am very excited and hope to get it by tuesday.

BTW: I ordered it with UWB!

 

i have a feeling i should have ordered the same specs as before with my order...probably could have shipped it like the day after my first one was canceled.

they do have a battery status button. I saw it on my dad's t60p.

Battery status button on the actual battery? That's on the t60 battery which is different. Someone else told me that there isnt a charge status on these.

 

So umm, I just want everyones thoughts about this and to make things clear:

I initially ordered my 15.4" T61 (not p) on 7/11, and since I rebooked on 8/9 because of my order cancellation due to this "configuration error", odds are I wont get the WUSB adapter?

EDIT: ok jeremy i actually checked my dad's t60p battery, they dont have a status light. maybe its different from the t61 battery, and they probably got a status light.

EDIT 2 (lol): ok i did some more "searching", the design for the batteries hasnt changed for the t61, so odds are you wont get a battery status light thingamabob on the battery

 

Hmm, probably never heard of wardriving casue this will be my first laptop. Would be kinda hard to drive around with a desktop and have to have a cat5 cable goin everywhere.

 

all this talk and speculation about wusb and all that is nonsense... who know what ships when and why with these people.. My order from 7/11 shows shipped.. It has everything, so we know that yes lenovo can ship a complete laptop with wusb, with uwb with the new screen, with antennas, with bagles, whatever.. do you guys not see the hysteria you are all putting each other through.. they seem to ship when and what they want.. maybe they ship laptops that make them profit first ahead of ones with 10 stacked deals and codes.. maybe there system is messed up and some orders get in front of others.. maybe the more you call the faster or slower it takes.. who knows but the said part is that a few of you guys start trying to comeup with magic configurations that ship faster and in the end all you end up with is three orders to cancel.

 

lol personally i really could care less about shipping faster because i dropped this part or that part. the main reason i bought the 15.4 inch version was because of the wireless USB feature and the integrated 4 in 1 media card reader, and i just have to have it, regardless of when it will ship, i am a patient man.

 

My laptop shipped today 8/11. Exactly one month from ordering.

Finally.... No email, just checked the status page. Guessing that it will actually "ship" tomorrow or Monday and come sometime middle to end of next week, depending on how long customs and such takes.

Time to go shopping for accessories. Good luck to the rest of you as well, looks like quite a number are shipping now.

Oh yeah, this was a 7/11 order, 11:30ish AM. Pretty much loaded system - T7700, 3GB (shouldn't have done this via Lenovo, but), Vista Ultimate, Turbo Memory, Fingerprint/Bluetooth, 100GB 7200, DVD Recorder, AGN, 9 Cell, Office Pro.

mine shipped 8/10. I have 2nd day shipment. I called UPS today. They tell me they have no 2nd Day shipment for international shipmens. ibm ships from japan. so it is set to arrive tue.

so tell me what in the world they tell us 2nd Day ship,ment for an extra $50???


shoud I call lenovo and snap over the phone for a refund?

dztsys i dont know if theres anything you can do now, consider yourself lucky that you already received yours. I ordered on 7/11/07 and is already delayed twice. first time was 8/31/07 and 2nd time was to 9/7/07.

 

dztsys - Not sure about that. UPS tracking info shows my unit shipped 8/10 from Hong Kong (not sure what you mean with Japan, Thinkpads aren't made in Japan, dude), and the status page on UPS's site says my unit will be delivered here in California on Monday. I also paid the $50 like you.

 

I still don't have the shipping confirmation email or a tracking number, but I will post when I have more details. Usually what happens with this stuff is they ship from China to Louisville, KY on a pallet via International Priority (overnight) and then once the pallet clears customs, they crack it open and send the individual boxes to their specific destinations. I'm a day or two ground from Louisville, so hopefully Wednesday or Thursday.

My T43 from a couple of years ago sat in customs for 9 days, so I won't get really excited until it clears. I guess the other Lenovo trick is they send the machines but not the paperwork, and they won't clear customs without the paperwork, which is sent separately when they get their act together.

 

LaptopGuru - According to the UPS tracking page for my unit, routing is as follows:

Hong Kong, China -> Anchorage Alaska -> Louisville, KY -> San Francisco, California

Judging by the timestamps, they actually sent the customs paperwork ahead of the actual package arrival. Scheduled delivery date is Monday here in California, so we'll see what happens.

dztsys - WOW. That's hilarious. They literally put your t61p on the wrong plane and sent it to Japan instead of the US. Unbelievable. At least they figured it out real quick! Better than most airlines treat lost luggage, that's for damn sure.

I bet you'll still get it on Monday.

Wow...was that T61 with integrated graphics, or the NVS Quadro 140M?

I guess Lenovo (kind of) got their act together for the T61p -- that shipped awful fast! I ordered mine on the 1st of August and it shipped on the 10th, which isn't quite as fast, but still pretty speedy for Lenovo :O

But yeah the 3 day build time surprised me too, especially when their reps told me confidently that I would be looking at around end of august for the 61p

ponicg, my 7/11 shipped yesterday, so I'd expect that yours would ship today/tomorrow based on the number of people that are posting that their 7/11s have shipped.
