well, the fact is we will all get our t61p when its all said and done

 

My Sales Rep's name is Mark Furman , he was always very helpful and polite , he even RMA my t60p after 28 days and refund my money in full

 

It is never ending problems with my system.

It is bad enough that I am getting shafted on the UWB.

My order has now shipped to a non existent town in Mississippi

Take a look at the shipping progress. Kentucky to Alaska back to Kentucky

Orginally I had a UPS deliver date for tomorrow Monday the 13th before its trip to Alaska.

God knows where this system is.

CorysWorld you do know that it was just telling you that there was going to be a customs check right?

It didn't actually go to Kentucky to Alaska then back.

It goes: China to Alaska to Kentucky then to a nearby state, then to a city in your state.

 

Dimonay is right. The KY thing shows up before it arrives. Mine showed something similar. Except mine doesn't say my unit is 'warehoused'. I don't like the sound of that. Then again, mine indicated it's awaiting clearance, whatever the hell that means. Fat chance it'll arrive here tomorrow morning!!

 

I think what CorysWorld is saying is his "Shipped To: STRATHAM, MS, US Should be New Hampshire " part ,that means destination address is wrong , call Lenovo and UPS and tell them about this problem .
And regarding clearance it can be few hours to 3 days but based on my experience that i had before it shouldn't take that long

 

My T43 was in customs for 9 days about 18 months ago.... Here's hoping my 61p clears in the times you're mentioning.

Hey guys the good news is Lenovo started shipping them and they are express , so lets be positive after long wait that we went through , actually if you check the other forums there is the same problem with Dell and Compal , I can't wait to read your posts regarding how happy you are with your system .

My laptop is already in Ontario, CA, which is short drive away from my house. But I'll save myself the trouble and wait for it in the morning.

Make sure you guys post what you've finally received as compared to what you expected/told by Lenovo CS...especially the UWB situation...

 

I hope mine clears from customs soon, It was supposed to get here today, but it is sitting in Louisville.

 

OK so I guess I over reacted with the shipping progress.

But I have confirmed Lenovo screwed up my address on the package. My shipment email from Lenovo has the correct address but the tracking status has the wrong state. I am waiting for UPS brokerage to call me to straighten this mess out.

I spoke to USP international and they said that a whole pallet of lenovo packages are waiting customs.. They expected that the whole thing will clear today and all of the ones marked express will be delivered by 10:30 AM tommrow 8/14 if they reach your local center by 9AM. So if you check tommrow am you will know if your getting a 10:30 Delivery..

Hey, has anybody that ordered on 7/12 had their laptop shipped or not? Because i'm still waiting, and I really hope I don't have to wait long because I don't know how often they send out "batches" of the laptops...

Damn Louisville customs! My unit (along with yours, Jeremy and a few others I supposed) still shows it's sitting there according to UPS's tracking. Ain't no way those suckers are going to be delivered today.

This is why we used to only buy MADE IN USA.

Mine shipped 8/11, Origin Scan in Shenzhen CN on 8/11, 3:26PM. I'm guessing you are a batch or two behind me.

 

So, did anyone get a status update before it shipped? In other words when I check the Lenovo site and it says "In Process" does it change to "In Production" or anything to let me know it's getting close or will I just wake up one morning and it will say it has been shipped?

 

Mine went from In Process @ 7:30 AM to Shipped around 9:00 AM

 

sorry but what's the big deal about UWB and WUSB? is it that great of an advancement or is it just something that's nice to have?

How do you talk to someone form "executive relations"?

 

Does anyone have Tony's last name and/or contact info? This is the Tony from Lenovo executive relations. My order was placed on 7/11, and I'm still being told it's supposed to ship at the end of August.

 

I don't think we can give out that information. You'll need to file a complaint with the BBB first.

 

Told by the order status page or by a CSR? Mine said 8/30 up until the day it shipped (8/11). I would expect yours would be shipping any time now. Mine was ordered at 11:30am ish on the 11th.

 

i did not need the bbb just call the order status line all p-eeeed off and tell them you want escalation to executive relations and expect a call in 48 hours..

 

Brusso99, what made you get all pissed off BTW? Did the re-order your machine, or screw it up... or was it just the shipping delays? Just curious. Also, what specs did you order, again?

 

Okay, Got my T61P today.

Also got Lenovo to match my 10%American Express tailormade, I have a base price of about 1800 now, s, i'm thinking it'll drop to about 1600 after the 4% fatwallet, and the artificial tailormade that Lenovo Tony guy did for me.

That said, I'm definitely doing as good or slightly better as I was on 7/11. I notice one thing strange, fins are slightly bent on one of the heat sink ports, i bent them back into shape, but i don't know if it's worth talking to them about. I kinda like having a laptop period...

I hope this doesn't annoy anyone, but I ordered a system from Lenovo.com on 8/6 and got it today (with the regular free shipping). It's a 6459CTO with T7500, WUXGA, Vista Bus, 1GB (2 DIMM's), 80GB HD, DVD Writer, 4965AGN, Bluetooth and 9 cell battery. According to the box it was manufactured in China on 8/9/07.

I actually never got a confirmation email for this order and the phone people were not helpful in finding my order. I thought my order was lost so I ordered again on 8/10.

I FINALLY GOT MY T61P!!! I got it this morning and have been reconfiguring it. I received it at 10:10 am EST in NJ and I ordered it 7/11. First initial thoughts: Amazing laptop....runs great!!!

I am having one problem with the unit. I ordered it with 1x1 Gig. I purchased an extra 1x2 Gig stick. When i installed the 2 gig stick, the laptop beeps 3 times and never loads. I have tried installing the 2 gig stick alone but it loads the OS perfectly. It makes no sense because the website sells the unit with 3 gigs as well.

Any ideas?!?!

i must ask, why 1GB 2DIMM? 1 DIMM is the same price.

 

4u2, reseat the ram. Make sure you have it fully inserted before clipping it down.

juan, did you try the lenovo tech support?

 

4u2, RAM sticks are not always compatible with each other.
If I were you, I'd get a matched pair.
