critical list means you will get it soon, I placed mine 07/13/07 and around 12 days ago it went to critical list and it shipped on 08/11/07 and i received it 08/13/07, with express hipping and almost 3 days from HK ( overseas) to california

 

I can confirm that I did get my new laptop delivered today with WUSB/UWB

For those of you who are wondering, I called up and spoke to a rep who was briefed today personally by her supervisor and she stated that there are different levels of priority.

Now, if you ordered on 7/11 or 7/12 you were automatically placed upon the expedited list, but the ones that just shipped out were on the critical list, ergo why they (i.e. jeremy, wingsofeagle, brusso...) got their laptops so soon.

I don't know if there's anything below expedited aside from the normal priority level, but this rep told me that if you are put on the critical list (new one is being formed right now since the last critical orders just shipped out), you will be pushed into the next shipment to go out, or at least the front of the line (a.k.a. first to receive incoming needed parts).

 

Darn it! Waiting forever. I'm okay with waiting, but I don't want to be skipped. Ordered on 7/19, got a price adjustment to use the 10% coupon on 7/22 and my ESD is 8/23. It still says that it is being processed.

 

My T61p is still in Anchorage..... or in transit to Louisville.... very annoying.
Guess I get to call UPS tomorrow and ask them what the heck is going on.

Warning!!!!

My t61p with 100gb 7200 rpm hd is perfect EXCEPT, if your in a dead Silent room and bam!!!! there is a high pitched noise that caused me an ear ache, its the most anoying thing i have ever experianced and i had to get my zune out, its worse than a dentists drill.. Any ideas?

 

Don't find yourself in a silent room.

Or better yet, run two loud desktops in the same room. I hear NOTHING. =)

 

i did not hear it at the local cafe or next to my server and desktop(7 fans) but its amazing how high pitched the sound is.. do you have the same thing?

 

For those folks who asked and PM'ed me, I spoke to a CSR to expedite my order, not BBB/Tony/Exec Relations. Just a normal Lenovo 800 number CSR sales person kinda thing.

 

I am jealous. I ordered mine on the same day and I have the same ESD; but mine has not even shipped and yours has already arrived? Not fair. Anyways congratulations for being so lucky. Btw do you have WUSB?

I ordered yesterday and there's no update whatsoever of my status. I am even wondering if they bothered to charge my credit card yet. I've never had such an experience ordering stuff online (the lack of speed at charging the customer!). I guess I need to be paitient.

 

Called UPS. they told me about the same thing that the web site says. I asked them if they thought it was unusual that a shipment would go for two days without a scan when they obviously weren't transferring from Anchorage to Louisville via truck, and they said "we can't give you any more information until it is scanned again".

The UPS saga at the end of the Lenovo saga adds insult to injury.

 

Haha. Now they've taken the T61p 15.4" WUXGA off the Employee Purchase site.

laptopguru, mine just cleared customs in KY, so yours should be about ready to. Seems the delivery date they have given us includes the time to clear customs.

When is your delivery date? I bet your shipment is expedited like mine, so should at your door by tomorrow as well. I sent an email to ups and got a link to a place to send stuff. I put in our package info, and expedited packages are to be delivered by this Thursday.

 

Estimated delivery date is Friday, hoping they would beat that. If it clears customs today, it should indeed arrive tomorrow. What link did they send you? Can you share here or PM it to me? Thanks!

How long did it take them to respond to you? After I clicked "Submit", the submission confirmation page says it could take them up to 30 business days

 

A rep called me the next day.

 

i did not file bbb, all i did was tell them off a few times, got angry and told them this was bull. I think i even told them i was an america and if i had too i would go there and get my laptop because thats what we do, dont you watch the news, lol. After a while they will escalate to the executive team.. from there i was able to get 10 percent more off and free battery shipped.. what more can you want.. its a nice machine.. mine might have a annoying HD sound but i got wusb and uwb both of which might never provide any real advantages kinda like that fact they although so many laptops have bluetooth built in, go to compusa and they have like one bluetooth mouse and a hundred with 2.4ghz dongles.. why would i want another dongle when i have all these wireless connection points beign unused..

at this point anyone reading any of this forums who orders a laptop and they wonders why its not on there door in three days needs a gut check...

 

Your tracking info is a little different, I think I am screwed and probably another day or two out. Yours has the blurb about being submitted for further clearance, mine never got off the dime.

Honestly at this point I am debating canceling today and just picking something up at Best Buy. I already have the problem that this laptop is getting shipped to my house instead of school (because Alex told me it should ship in 2-3 weeks) so I'm going to have to drive home (a couple of hours each way) or pay to get it shipped to me after it was shipped home. OR I could change the address and put myself at the back of the line!!!...right

Lazy if your thing has UWB you might find it worth waiting out, since you can't order uwb any longer. My 2nd order shipped out so fast I didn't have time to realize that my original order was the one with the uwb, and that some people would have gotten it even 3 days after I got mine sans uwb.

 

Well I have 2 concerns with UWB. First I don't know if I'll use it to be honest. I'm a grad student and frankly if the hardware is going to be expensive or unecessary I won't buy it anyways. (i.e. a mouse, I have one I don't need to spend $80 on a new one) Secondly, you can't order it anymore! If you can't order it anymore and the UWB antenna or something breaks and I send it in to get it replaced how do I know it won't take 2mo. for them to fix my computer?

At this point I am planning to work from home tomorrow and wait for it. Anxiously awaiting the import and departure scans.

 

Plus, at the moment, you can no longer get a 15.4'' UXGA screen.

 

Alex e-mailed me back again. He said all the 15.4" laptops are being delayed "until approximately the middle of september". So all the people telling us they are shipping next week are prolly full of it... :-/

 

I just got off the phone about my order. I had a question about my bill and ended up speaking to sales support. I ordered a T61p (6459CT) with the 15.4" screen and the UWB (among other goodies) on 7/26 and I had a question about my bill so I was transferred to sales support. After asking them about my bill I asked them about my system shipping and she said it was confirmed as shipped to the warehouse and said that the there was no reason it should not ship before the ESD of 8/28... She mentioned something about the 14" screens being on back-order and since I didn't order one of those that I'm OK. Nothing was mentioned about UWB, and the 15.4" doesn't seem to be a problem ... this week anyway...

She also said that most orders are shipping before the ESD... just be prepared to cringe if you ordered the 14" screen (When I ordered on 7/26, it was not an option yet).

When I was on with the order status dept. (who I got first), I complianed how it seems that many others who ordered after me are receiving their systems before me. The (Indian-sounding) guy pretty much said that it happens sometimes and that said he couldn't offer any explainations, excuses, etc... but also confirmed that everything is going smoothly with my order and that nothing is held up.

From what he was saying, it is their role to explain to any hold-ups for customers who call and ask. All said, I was worried about my order getting delayed further because of UWB or the 15.4" screen and it looks liek I'm safe (whew)...

BTW, I've seen people mention that you can't order the UWB anymore, while I could have sworn that I saw it yesterday when I configured one to check on the current pricing... but then I checked it again today and now there is no option to order the 15.4" screen or the UWB - so the choices seem to change at least daily!

LOL It sounded deja vu to me when I read your post. =P

He told me that my system is well actually built but just waiting to be shipped. I ono if that is BS. haha He says that there are no lacking parts and that everything they need to build my laptop is in supply.
