    I think someone should make a to do list for people who just got their thinkpads. Like:

    1. Make Recovery Disks
    2. Update with Latest Drivers
    3. Etc Etc

    If everyone contributed it would be helpful for guys who just got theirs.

    If this company got any worse they would have to work at it.

    So I call this morning.
    9:05 Call placed.
    9:24 human answers - Alley
    I ask for a senior manager who can straighten this order out. Alley says please hold for 2 minutes
    9:34 Alley comes back on and says the order has some problems and will be transfered to a manager, please hold 2 minutes.
    9:39 Alley comes back and says she'll transfer to a manager and that I need to call Sales back to fix this order (WTF?)
    9:41 Tyrone comes on the phone. Tyrone cannot do anything with the order and needs me to contact Alley, who is in Canada and this will be an international call 416 383 4642.
    The order is screwed up. The machine is no longer available. This order cannot be processed.

    I said, wait a minute, you are going to ask me to pay for an international call?
    Tyrone says yes.
    I say NO.
    Tyrone says he'll have Alley call me back.
    I say please have someone contact me who has the authority to straighten this order out.
    Tyrone says he will.

    Waiting with baited breath.

    9:59 Alley calls me back, says she'll transfer me to a rebooking team?
    10:03 Edward comes on the phone. Says he can't even rebook the machine, it's not available?
    I ask why I'm talking to him, he says he doesn't know, I should be talking to customer relations team.
    I say (for the 10th time) to please transfer me to someone with the authority to correct these errors that Lenovo has made.
    10:06 he says he'll transfer me.
    10:11 Greg comes on and says "how can I help you?" and hangs up.

    WTF? Writing the BBB complaint now....

Im not going to bomb lenovo, yes im going to fly a plane all the way to china with a bomb in luggage and somehow bypass security, and then bomb lenovo. Its a joke fellas, and theres no way in hell thats ever going to happen

    saying im going to bomb lenovo's heardquarters is like saying "im going to kill you so and so." without knowing who you are, and where you live

Stewie might run into trouble with the administrators here but as long as he explains himself as he did here, i think hes good to go, and for all of you who think that the government is going to hunt him down, first off lenovo is a chinese company, second of all chances are they wont find this, and third of all, who takes him seriously anyways.

    no, im fine with lenovo. Im not even that frustrated anymore, i mean waiting has its negative effects, but patience is a virtue. I have patience and im willing to wait maybe a month later. As long as I get it in the end im fine. Thanks though :)

    aadadams, I think when you see the import scan it has cleared through customs. Im not sure though, since mine has 2 import scans.

    umm, good thing we are on top of it. According to LenBlowVo my order is in limbo and wouldn't have shipped if I'd waited until September of 3007 (yes, a thousand years from now)

    They are totally screwed up and I would suggest that EVERYONE who has not received any updates to contact Customer Relations Management and get your fubar'd order resolved.


    FYI: My order is lost. The config can no longer be ordered. I'm screwed. NO T61P for me.

    While the above suggestion may do you no good, at least you'll stop waiting and go to another manufacturer to address your needs.

    They rescheduled delivery from Friday 17th to Monday 20th, so I guess it may still be held up.

    Got another call from Greg, a bit snippy, but gave me two options

    1. Stick with Lenovo Order. They'd apply the discounts I lost due to their screwups. However, he does not know if this is really a valid and possible order anymore and won't know until sometime next week. This 'stick with Lenovo' option may be vaporware or may take 6 months to fill.

    2. Order it from CDW on my own (they have a similar one today) and they will price match to my original order by sending me a check. That is, will NOT include discounts for Tailormade, tax free weekend, and price matching. Meaning it'll cost me $400 more to get a machine that's not even quite equal to what I ordered, no UWB, No Vista64, no whatever else (CDW does not give full specs on that machine they have in stock.)

    They absolutely will not do the proper discount and CDW.

    So, it's Fu or Fu2 take your choice.

    I have filed a complaint with the BBB detailing this nightmare and will NEVER do business with LenBlowVo again.

    Crummy Communist Unethical Unprofessional Contract Breakers.

    Greg and all the others are only doing what Lenovo Admin will allow them to do. This is ALL on the back of the unprofessional, unethical Communist Chinese Parent Company who has completely screwed this up and won't make it right.


    You are wrong about the 'supply side', It's Supply, Administration, Purchasing, manufacturing, ad nausium (the owners and decision makers.) The only thing in the West is a very small core of people who speak English and do what the Company tells them to do.

    Recently, people have GONE TO JAIL for that exact kind of comment. Read the news, they are prosecuting these statements nowadays. It's a fact man.     well, it's official now. i ordered on 7/16 with an est ship date of 8/16, and now it's been pushed back to 9/18. awesome. lol i remember when i ordered i was like, "cool! it says it'll ship within 1-2 weeks!" As if they don't realize that people's productivity is at stake. i'm going to college in Canada by the end of august- im probably gonna have to fedex the laptop to my dorm. should i even bother calling lenovo and complaining at this point? i mean i havent called them once so far cuz i was afraid of messing up my order or something.

    It wouldn't hurt to call them up simply for a status check. You ordered much earlier then I did, but when they pushed my shipment date back to 9/7 I called and basically said I need this laptop ASAP. Without getting upset, raising my voice or asking to speak to a CSM, they immediately put me on the critical list, upgraded my shipping to express, and assured me my laptop will ship out with the 8/23 batch shipment. Sometimes if you don't call at all, it gives them the impression you're okay with the situation. You don't need to try and cut through every single CSR tearing them new ones left and right just to find out what's going on and what can be done about it. (Like many in this forum have.)

    Just tell them you ordered the first two weeks of the laptop's release and you'd like to know what time frame you can expect the laptop to ship and if they can expedite it.

    I just got that one too. Hopefully, it gets out of there and arrives Monday. My onsite repair for my HP is on that day so that would be a great time to format and clean install Vista on the T61.

    Their sales division is EST so the sooner before 6pm EST, (when they close) the better. Of course it being Friday and things are always frantic on Friday, results and milage may vary. Also, they don't work weekends, so call today.

    Important things to remember to mention is:

    1.) It's been over a month since you ordered.

    2.) You've received NO update on the status of your purchase. (Either via email or phone)

    3.) You simply want to know where your order is at, when you can expect it, and if it can be sped up.

    4.) If they were helpful to you, try and get their name (full name) or an email address so you can keep tabs on the order's progress. Often times they will be reluctant to give you this info as they know you may just very well email them 3 times a day. But just tell them because you've waited so long you'd like a contact that you can follow-up your order with until it ships.

    I find it if you're nice to the people you speak to, they will often times do more for you. Of course if the person doesn't seem like they want to help you and is just feeding you a line to get you off the phone, you may have to escalate things. But in the calls I've made to Lenovo, I haven't had to do that... yet.

    Well..just got off the phone with UPS international...and they are blaming lenovo on the KY hold times...they said that someone at lenovo has not been putting proper slips for international clearing..and that's why it taking up to 3-4 days on some packages to clear when they usually clear less than 24 hours...uh oh..someonnes about to be fired

    I was calm. For an hour and a half on the phone I was perfectly calm. Even at the end where I was getting FU1&2 I remained controlled.

    However, I'm fully fed up with Lenblowvo. At this point, no matter what they do I'm going to flip that POS on fleabay.

    I will NOT support a communist regime with demonstrated unethical & unprofessional behavior. Done.

    Remember guys, this is SALES, that's the easy part, just wait until SUPPORT is needed....let the nightmares begin.

    Just got off the phone with Lenovo about my 7/21 , 8/23 esd. The man said that there is nothing holding the systems and that it will be shipped before or on the esd. This is probably about the 4th time I've received this confirmation. Either my system is being built at one of the plants that has the parts (very unlikely) or they are blowing me off. I DARE them to mess with me next week. After 4 confirmations, I'll be demanding retribution for their misleading me for a month.

    PS - obviously that won't do anything anyway, but it will be fun to legitimately blow up at them

    FWIW, I've been given the same assurance of shipment on 8/23. I have a feeling there is going to be a huge shipment on 8/23 and all the CSRs are just being told to assure anyone who calls prior to an August order date that they will get theirs on 8/23. I doubt at this point anyone is really getting accurate, to-the-minute details on their specific laptop. But I guess they are hoping that with this next large shipment, they won't have to deal with as many irrate customers by just assuring everyone: "It will ship on the 23rd".

    We'll see what Thursday brings us all...
