dream on
I have a bridge I can sell you...cheap. -
jpacelli, I ordered the same time as you and have the same ESD. I'm hoping for the best, for both of us.

Well I guess I thought I'd share a funny experience. Yesterday I was working and realized that I had a voicemail. It was from a Lenovo representative in Canada (I'm in the U.S.) He had called to let me know that it was the Wireless USB that was holding up my order and that it will go out on my ESD on 8/20. I thought it was funny because-- I didn't call Lenovo. I think I called a week before and demanded to be transfered to a supervisor. When the CSR said "Sorry but there are no supervisors. I'll have one call you in 48 hours" I said "I just recorded this call and will report you to the BBB if I don't get that call." Well maybe that was the call, maybe Lenovo just decided to check in with me. I dunno. But I'm starting to get excited about my new lappy.

I ordered a T61P on July 17th and have an ESD of Aug 21st. Yesterday spoke with my CSR sales representative and apparently I have been given yet another delay because my screen isn't in. It has been a whole month now and they are telling me I have been delayed yet again. I have to leave for school soon and I will be on the other side of the country.
This does not look good and it is utterly ridiculous that service could be this terrible. My friend already canceled his order because he leaves in two days. He went and grabbed a macbook pro and boot camped xp. I have been put on the critical list but I do not think that will help. I feel sorry for lenovo CS. No person I can think of can possibly be in a worse situation than that.
Does anyone else find it sad that a company can make such a stellar product and yet lose so many paying customers do to delayed shipping? I really do not want to get another notebook. I am too hyped for this system to be content with anything else. I JUST WANT MY THINKPAD!!!!!!! -
we arent the only ones...apparently dell is having a hard time shipping the 1330 or whatever ti is. One user reported an ESD in October!
I think the popularity of santa rosa was unexpected. -
at this rate...i might as well cancel and reorder in october when better stuff comes out.
-
-
I have made calls and they have assured me that ALL PARTS are available for my laptop. In fact, a rep told me that my laptop has already been built. Its just waiting to be shipped out maybe end of this week or next week.
Legit or total bull? This is not a good way to treat customers. -
EPP.
Anyone know the EPP price for a configuration similar to the order in my sig??
Thanks!! -
-
i'm aware, but i'm sure someone ordered a t61p by epp and has an estimate for me.
-
Oh..thought u wanted to order one via epp..so i logged on and nothing was available! I'm sure someone can help you out though -
you have an epp login?
-
-
Alycon, mine was $1534 without tax.
Specs:
Vista basic
Intel c2d t7500
1 GB ram
No bluetooth
9 cell battery -
@ eyecon, it's okay, i wouldn't ask for someone's login. i was just curious. if the 61p comes back up before mine ships, a buddy of mine at ibm is going to help me out. thanks, though.
@ jay, thanks for the estimate. is there a set percentage off like the student/education discount? -
In my experience...I found the percentage to be around 15% off -
The T61p is still available through my portal and has never been removed. There are two base models to configure one is 2040 and the other is 2150. Both models include the T7700 processor, 2GB RAM, 100 GB 7200 RPM hard drives, and three year on-site warranties for reference.

-
Well, my ESD was 8/17, so I got the dreaded email overnight kicking it to 9/19.
-
My esd just changed to 9/19, no communication, no "I'm sorry", no nothing. Just FU
WTF Lenblowvo?

I did not order the T61 but a x60 tablet 12.5 inch screen, no WSXGA+ option was even available of cores,
The order was placed 07/17/07
ESD was 08/17/07...a good month. no big deal I thought. its a hell of a tablet PC and $3k less than the Motion Graphics tablet offering that had comparable in specs.
On 8/17/2007 got the email saying, shipment could be delayed 1 to 30 days!!!. My guess is it wont be 1 day .
At this rate I may be able to save up and buy the top of the line Motion Graphics tablet.
Has any one just waited this out and actually finally received the order. Or is canceling and reordering the only option. I guess Im afraid its hopelessly lost in the shuffle and will be on perpetual processing.
Thanks!

ordered 7/25, estimated shipping date 8/27. i'll give lenovo a ring tomorrow to see if they have any additional information about my order. haven't annoyed them yet, so i might as well.

If you go past the ESD my VAIO is working great fwiw.
I have to say I am a bit peeved though. I have 2 friends that are chinese students in the internatonal program here. We all went to our first class togeather and I whipped out my VAIO only to have them BOTH whip out Lenovos with the 15.4" screen they bought THIS SUMMER and got before the end of July for school this fall. I know Lenovo is a chinese company and of course citizens there can probably go to any local store and buy them off the shelf but it still really irritated me. -
Must say, this machine is amazing. Plays all games at med-high settings. Just played some madden 08 at 1920x1200 all settings maxed out, game works perfectly. You guys who are waiting won't be disappointed with the laptop.

)...is it really worth the wait?

Is the video card obsolete yet? Looks like the 570 will not be compatible with DirectX 10.1

My 14.1" T61P has shipped (yesterday 8/18). I've decided I won't actually be needing it (just bought a quad core desktop). Here are the specs if anyone is interested in buying it.

It Vaio may not support upcoming DX10.1, then again, I got it and have been using it before it was obsoleted. The same will not be true about the T61P.
The SuperDuper T61p will be an obsolete collectors item, that is assuming Lenblowvo can ever figure out how to process orders taken on their website. When I called them last week they ADMITTED that they had problems with their site and I could have waited until the end of time and my order would never have shipped.
They ADMIT it's their error, but do nothing to correct it. IMHO that combined with the lies they tell and the filling of orders placed after mine is what makes them a BAD company.
What's really frightening is that this is the SALES side of the company. They can't even manage to sell the item. What's going to happen when we need support which is always inferior to sales. I can only imagine the horror stories that are going to happen when people need support.
