I have been screwed by dells delays, waited almost 2 months and still dont have a laptop. Shipping within 5 days sounds GREAT.....I guess dealing with dells crap makes one appreciate small things in life like getting a shipped notice for something I paid for.

BTW i ordered a 3 year protection plan on this laptop, but the order page doesnt show anything regarding protection plan....just curious as to where can i see the details about that ?

Ehh..... Actually I haven't got any email notification...It's just the order status changed to "Shipped on 9/5/2007". And my credit card hasn't been charged yet.

 

same here...they won't give you any shipping information until tomorrow morning though...they do need to hurry up and charge my card though...I have some checks to write and i can only withdraw a certain amount a day X(

 

for those who got their laptops when do they charge your card because I haven't been charged yet....

 

Has your laptop been shipped yet? If not, they will just authorize the charges until your laptop gets shipped. Your balance available should be less than your actual balance.

 

That's too bad... I need to call UPS urgently to hold my laptop.....

 

its just weird..i would've thought they would've taken my money before shipping...the only thing I can think of is that they have taken it, it just takes a business day or two to show up in the account.

 

From what I have heard, as their customer service, everything is slow to death...

 

when you get the tracking info tomorrow morning, look at the estimated delivery date. if it's before you go to university, then give them a call and have them hold it if possible.

 

thought your order says it shipped today, it really hasn't..it just means they put in a pickup notice for UPS...it won't be shipped till the next morning...at which time they will provide you with a tracking number. you should be charged tomm morning

my esd was 9-16 it shipped on 9-2, no gurantees, but there is hope. btw if you cancelled your old t61p with the wuxga they should put your new order on the critical list.

 

Oh....Hopefully it's true that they will ship it by tomorrow morning...then I got one more day .. but that's not good for those who long for it...

Man were you in the pre-med program? That's hardcore... I think the Feinberg School is at Chicago Campus right? Cuz I once saw the main building of Feinberg School near Michigan Ave.

I called my RO at Lenovo today to cancel my original July WUXGA order and he told me that he got word from the factory supervisor that it was about to ship in a day or two, so cancelling it would do no good. I already have my WSXGA+ T61p and he basiscally told me that I have two options: 1.) send it back immediately with a shipping label he will supply me free of charge. 2.) hold on to it a day or two, try out the WUXGA w/ Wireless USB, and if I like that model over my current WSXGA+ to give him a call, let him know which one I want to keep, and send the other one back, 15% restocking fee waived.

I was kinda floored when he offered me to try out both laptops, but since my card will be charged for both, might as well. Obviously not everyone will get this option, but considering my longstanding order delay the flexibility he's given me in deciding is really a great gesture. And not only will the 15% fee be waived, but I'll get $200.00 off whatever order I choose to settle on.

Having used the WSXGA+ T61p, I have to say I'm really pleased with the screen and it's performance. This laptop runs the newest games at the highest resolution like no-one's business. It does get HOT after a hour or so of intense gaming, but luckly only in the upper left area where the heat sink and the GPU is.

It's really a choice between keeping a model with Wireless USB or not, as I'm sure both systems perform identically in terms of gaming and applications. I'll also get to see if the WUXGA is as bad in terms of light leakage against the WSXGA+ as it was mentioned in other forum threads. As cool as I initially thought it was having two T61p's side by side for a 1 - 2 day trial-run, I think it will make the decision more difficult in the end.

I am still waiting for my T61p w/ WUXGA and UWB. Ordered 7/19, ESD 9/25

 

OHHHHH!!!! Cheers!!! LOL. I just called UPS and ask them to reschedule the delivery time. They told me that because of the custom clearance my laptop won't be delivered before Sept. 12 and they will try next day (Sept. 13!!!) so mine shipment should be fine!!!

HHAHAHAHAHA.. Good news for me. Sad news for you all. Cheers!

though they just look like copies of each other.

 

Oh the first one is the lappy, and the second one is probably the Thinkpad Travel Mouse and HDD UltraBay Adapter... I think the Thinkpad Travel Mouse is one of the most classical mice so I ordered that (it might not be nice but yes, it's classic ). Lol.

 

oh....and here i thought you had two t61p's.

 

Lol. I hoped so too, but one package is 2.5kg and another one is 0.5kg so I am afraid my dream could not be realized. lol. In addition, that's really weird since they haven't charged my credit card... Is it really a Xmas gift?

I ordered during the Labor Day sale but had to make a modification because I forgot the MS Office 2007. So, got it reordered today after "rejecting" the other one but they could only give me the WUXGA display instead of the WSXGA+. They said there was no option for it even though I told them its available on the website. So I went with it and now will this mean I need to wait a few months for it to show?

 

Is this a US Order or elsewhere? If it is a US order I'm surprised they railroaded you on WUXGA.

Wow. Dunno what to tell ya Kyla. To lose hardware specs on something as rediculous as a software change is something I couldn't live with. If the savings are substantial then I would just ride it out. You may want to check and see if Wireless USB was in your order as well. If you aren't getting the results you are looking for, perhaps have your issue escalated to a Supervisor. Explain to them that you wanted to keep your hardware specs the same and the sales person switched screens on you. You don't necessarily have to tell them you agreed to it, or that you were even aware of it. I just have this gut feeling if you tell them you agreed to WUXGA, then that will end your chances at getting the screen you want at the price you were initially quoted for.

Yup I know. Just wanna tell you that because of custom clearance the actual delivery date is Sept. 12 if you are using UPS Ground (I called UPS). And yes, mine is shipped on 9/5 too.

 

hmm..what does the estimated delivery date show on your tracking page? mine shows Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 09/11/2007.

Perhaps this is b/c my home is in hoffman estates, IL which is right next to the major hub in palatine. but that still shouldn't make a difference

Yup, mine too... on time with a scheduled delivery date of 09/11/2007, but UPS rep told me that the actual delivery date should be 9/12 because of the custom clearance...

 

damn...i guess that sounds about right since my last notebook was delayed a day as well

Hey guys,

I ordered a WUXGA T61p on the 6th of August, and my first ESD was September 6. Just today I received the dreaded "1-30 day" notification email (with a revised ESD of October 9 !!!). If I give them a call today, what should I say?

 

i'd just ask why...i'm guessing its the screen shortage. If you went with a wsxga+ you'd probably get it much faster.
