I ordered mine July 20th and it still has not shipped. If you don't want to wait for at least another 2 weeks, I highly suggest you go with the WSXGA screen.

 

ESD: 08/30, then expected delay of 2 weeks

Okay, I think canceling my order and going with the WSXGA+ seems like a better choice. 1920 x 1200 on a 15 inch screen is probably not worth it, either.

Edit: I spoke to a call center representative and she suggested waiting until next week before re-ordering, since they'll have a clearer idea of when my WUXGA will ship by next week. Is what she's saying correct or should I just cancel anyway? How long does it take for the WSXGA+ T61ps to ship?

i was talking to lenovo just now stupid indian rep told me my order was placed 08/03/07 when it was actually placed 08/08/07 and i was holding my invoice right infront of me. and i was telling him no it was placed on the 8th he ignored that and said ur order has shipped but it wasnt the laptop it was the dock and the bag and then the part that really pissed me off he said there no laptop on this order number...WTF!!!! then i started getting really angry and then he put me on hold saying let me check something and he dissconnected me.. wat a stupid eff'er!!.. and then i called back instead of talking to order status i went to parts and replacent center seeing if they could help me they said ill transfer you to sales and then i said not india please the said sales is not india she tranfered and it ...bloddy hell!!!... was india...wtf ...i gave the indian guy my order number he said it existed but he couldnt find any information on it... and said if you wat and call back on monday he can find out more.

what the hell guys anyone else have a similar expierence!! im really regretting buying this thing now from lenovo even all my friends raved about lenovo and said how great it was but mann...there customer service sucks and their stupid call centers andy the god for saken assembly lines!!!... any body here have suggestions on wat do now? should i just go with another company? never in my life i have been so irriated with a company. and for you guys who waited months for your laptop..god bless you i dont know how you guys did it..... but im almost done with this company

 

Since you said it wasn't worth getting the WUXGA on a 15" screen, then you may as well order the WSXGA+ now and cancel the WUXGA. The WSXGA+ seems to be shipping within a week.

My order seems to be stuck somewhere between anchorage and louisville. It showed up yesterday evening in Anchorage and since then it says in transit to louisville . Estimated delivery date is 11th, could my shipment be with the customs ?

Mine shipped on 9/7 and I got the tracking info just today 9/8. I am surprised that it got to the US in just a day. I live in NYS so does that mean I will get it on Monday? What's this thing about west/east coast people getting their laptops from China in 2 days?

I think you chose UPS Ground right? If so then UPS won't work during weekends so just relax. You will get it on 9/12 finally.

Yea, that is what I see too. Apparently it is quite normal and has something to do with customs since the packages came from overseas.

Not to upset you, but I really don't think it will ship tommorrow, your ESD. That ESD is just some BS date they give you. Honestly, if it where to ship, it would have shipped much earlier than your ESD. You will prob get an email saying it has been delayed for another 1-30 days...sorry to burst your bubble..But i want to give you a realistic view. I don't think anyones computers actually ship on their ESD

 

Yup, that is pretty much what will happen. They *normally* push your ESD back about 2-3 weeks from your initial ESD if you are 1 - 2 days away from hitting it. Today was another ship date from what I was told, but so was 9/3 and 9/7. Unless WUXGA models are shipping, I have no reason to suspect any ESD is accurate at this point.

 

yeah you guys are most definitly right..so far my online status page has not changed it still says ship date for today. but unlikely will it ship today or this week...but im curious i havent gotten the email yet from lenovo that says their delaying my order? when am i supposed to get it..

 

I just called today, my ESD is 9/13. I was told it was WUXGA shortages still, that my laptop wasn't being built yet, and I should call back on 9/14 to check on status. I'm pretty sure my ESD will get pushed back as well.

The Dell D830 is starting to look tempting... my willpower lessens each day.

there have been some shipments of the WUXGA screens, but not many, or not many that are reported.

 

Mind was shipped today, I ordered on 9/3 so I was pumped.

 

i dont think you ordered the WUXGA screen its not even available right now.. your talking about the WSXGA screen.

so far on mine their is no update and no email i didnt even bother to call them.

 

I ordered a T61p on 9/6 and was told that only the WUXGA display was available. Even though I told the salesperson that the only option on the website is WSXGA, so how could that be. they said from what they could see on their computer screen only the WUXGA was available. But I think it was because they were building me a machine using a federal discount rather than redoing the Labor Day sale discount. So I'm stuck with a WUXGA display.

...I've been told they are to do anything to keep orders, canceled orders are considered FAILURES on their evaluations.

They told JediMunchies that his WUXGA screen'ed computer would ship in "one or two days". As someone who has been told their computer will not miss its ship date, I would like to know if they were telling you the truth.

They told me 14 days when I placed the order. Then when I went to look at the status, the estimated ship was 34 days from my order.

On the phone: Does "in manufacturing" or "left the warehouse" mean anything, or is it just a trick?

 

My original ESD was the 20th. It is easy for me to wait because I have too much to do during the week to keep my mind occupied! Sounds like it is easy for you to wait too!

 

Oh. So your original UPS estimated delivery date is still 9/11 right? Lol... It's not only east but also good for me to wait. If the delivery date is before 9/13 I am gonna call UPS to hold my package until 9/13.

 

My Lenovo ESD was Sep. 20th. My original UPS delivery date was Sep 10, now it is Sep 11, tomorrow it may be Sep 12.

Yea that is definitely strange. My esd was about 20 days ago and my new esd was pushed back to the 24th which was more than a month.

And according to my sources they are suppose to have a new shipment of screens in soon so maybe you should consider waiting another couple of days.
