iostream I'm in the same boat. Going on two months and still no word is ridiculous.

    Order 7/18
    ESD 8/20
    New ESD 9/20

My complaint rep said that it would def. go out today. She also said it would have gone out the 6th, and 8th...

    OH!!!!!

My lovely T61p has almost been delivered. Yes UPS tried today as their first attempt, but I called them to hold my packages until 9/20 :D . Why is the shipment so fast for somebody who really wants to wait. Anyway, nice UPS customer service.

Just got an email from my RO regarding my long lost WUXGA order. I don't know if this is something anyone can bank on believing but he informed me that my laptop should ship today/tomorrow. Again, take it with a grain of salt, but if there is any truth to this, we should start seeing shipments of WUXGA T61p's ordered in July/August. If the shortage is still in effect, then they may just trickle out a few orders. But I thought it would be worth passing on.

I also have a complaint rep that supposedly gets updates from a supply manager daily. According to him there is a 50/50 chance that they are getting a display shipment within this week. So it is up to you whether or not you want to cancel.

Just ordered the T61p listed below this past Sunday (9 Sep) night...hoping that I don't have all the delays you guys have run into. Is it just the WUXGA's that are being help up now, or the WSXGA+ too?

Also, if you paid for 2 day shipping, does that minimize in any way the customs wait times? I seem to recall someone saying they do some sort of paperwork ahead of time to make it clear customs faster?

i don't know about the 2-day shipping part. but when i called in about my t61p order, they told me that the shipping would be upgraded from standard shipping. after that, on the shipping tracking info, it never went to the customs center like everyone else. it just went to alaska, then to california, then to me. it never stopped at a place longer than 3 hours.

    Ordered T61p (14") yesterday (9/10). ESD is 9/27.
It took them 5 weeks to ship my X61 that I ordered in June. We will see how long it will take them this time.

Well, I finally got my t61p wsxga! Ordered 8/30, shipped 9/7, got it on 9/11. Very nice machine except for the bunch of crapware that comes standard with the system (like symantec and the slew of lenovo software). Gonna do some benchmarking tonight to see how it goes.

Looks like I lot of people got there today. Mine came too. So far, I'm happy, no dead pixels (I don't see any with dead pixel buddy), not so bad back light bleed. All hardware functioning. Going to check temps soon. Pretty sound mechanically as well. Can't wait until I have some time to reboot, and make it my own! ;)

I had 1 stuck pixel which was green and really noticeable since it was right smack dab in the middle of the screen...took a quite a bit of massaging and pressing with my treo stylus to get out

Well, I just registered to notebookreview, and I am just trying to find out when the hell is my T61 going to ship lol. I did some reading and found out a lot of people ordered a WUXGA screen and were delayed for like a month. I ordered a WXGA because the only other monitor was the WSXGA. Do you guys think the WXGA will be delayed. Specs were T61 15.4in WXGA, Intel T7300(2GHz), 80gb hd 5400, 1gb turbo mem, 2gb ram, Quadra NVS 128mb, DVD Rec, finger, bluetooth, wireless abg, and Vista Prem.

I've done that before on my external LCD, I was pretty pleased when it worked. ;)

Laptop definitely runs pretty warm, that is for sure. Of course, I haven't tweaked anything yet. ;)

    OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok wtf Lenovo???? What is going on over there huh???

    Order Date 07/26/07

    ESD 08/28/07
    -Delayed Notice sent

Current Status as of 09/12/07: In Process

WTF where the hell is my laptop?!!?!?!??!?!?! It's been way over a month!

2 weeks ago I was told that it would come by Sept. 4 or Sept. 11 latest because they have a shortage of wuxga screens. Now, they tell me this bull**** that it's gonna get shipped by the end of September. Hell no wtf do they think they are doing?

I am in college right now. I have no laptop. Lenovo you are ****ing up my college performance! I am at an extreme handicap because I don't have my laptop. This is just sad...

This is the most terrible experience I have ever had buying a laptop.
Does anyone know of an executive number or some higher authority I can contact concerning this? Plz I need help. Thanks.

::Sigh:: I heard the same. My RO told me that my WUXGA T61p would ship today... it didnt' (surprise! surprise!) and he emailed me this morning telling me the screens are being delivered this week, and they look to have them in stock to continue production by the 17th... For those of you still waiting for your laptop, I know it's agonizing, but I see no reason they would keep stringing everyone along to a date that doesn't matter. It just means people will probably start seeing shipments during the last two weeks of September... IF they break this time window, I'm just flat out cancelling. I couldn't even begin to imagine people who ordered in July still... STILL waiting for a damn laptop. If it wasn't for the WSXGA+ one I have now, I probably woulda lost my mind.

No no.. I *wanted* to cancel my order and called to do so when my WSXGA+ T61p arrived, but my RO told me that my WUXGA T61p was going to ship in a few days anyway. So he and I came to the agreement I would wait for the other to ship, and I would get to choose which T61p I wanted to keep. Well it's been more then "1 or 2 days" and so instead of waiting for another laptop that may not ship by September, I juggling what I want to do with my July order. My RO has given me the option to try both out, see if I wanna keep my WSXGA+ or have the WUXGA with the Wireless USB. It's a sweet arrangement, but if it's not gonna show up till October... it's not worth the wait for me.

Agreed... I jumped on the chance during the Labor Day sale and saved nearly 400 dollars on my original order. Have you called and addressed your month-long+ wait to a Supervisor? What compensation are you recieving? If you aren't speaking to just ONE person about your wait and having them hand you discounts, freebies, etc... you need to.

Well...they set me up with a rep to handle my case. Her name is Neha. Apparently she tried countless times to contact supply line regarding the status of my laptop. It took a while for them to respond.

Hm...she has not told me anything about compensation. Should I bring it up? Cuz this really is pissing me off.

Oh definitely. Some will do it just to quickly diffuse your potential to yell at them, and others will do it because they are just as tired as you are about apologizing and think you deserve something for your wait. If she hasn't brought it up, tell her you'd like to discuss what options she can offer you for compensating your time. Take nothing less then 200 dollars off, or a free 9-cell battery. If she just offers $50 bucks off... she needs to try a little harder.

    Hi,

I ordered a configuration of the T61P WSXGA on the 7th along with that backpack. Today I checked the order and apparently my backpack just shipped, but the computer hasn't yet. However there seem to be a lot more parts listed for the laptop, including miscellaneous items (example: "39T6440 SBB 56K V.92 DESIGNED MODEM "). Does this mean my laptop has been built or something?

I also have an WUXGA on order, but I also ended up getting the WSXGA+, dont know when it will show up. My ESD for the WUXGA is October 10th, at this point I will keep waiting and milk them for a battery or some money.

Neha is a nice name Indian , I hope she compensates you well financially of course.

Keep us posted about your dealings with Neha.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the clarification. I cancelled my July T61p WUXGA order yesterday but have not heard back whether it really has been cancelled.

That would be awesome to compare the two T61p though (WUXGA vs. WSXGA+).

Same dates. But mine is a R61.
Maybe they will be on the same plane.

However, the UPS scheduled delivery date is 09/19/2007. How can it take that long?

Another thing is, I still can not get the part's listing by using the serial number and type number, is that normal?

JediMunchies, when did you order the WUXGA T61p? Did it ship yet? I called Lenovo today to find out the status of my order, but they said they have to call me back because of their system. Sounds like BS.

I need to contiue work on getting more than $50 compensation.

My initial WUXGA order was on 7/23. It hasn't shipped yet, and the earliest he gave me was 9/19. My ESD on the status page was bumped up to 10/10/07, but I'm not waiting till next month for it. If next Wednesday comes with no shipped laptop, I'm cancelling my July order.

Yah, don't let them string you along with just a $50.00 compensation... Hell, Express shipping costs that much...

Yup, and it better have Wireless USB and a damn-near perfect WUXGA display with no horrific light leakage or stuck/dead pixels. Otherwise it goes right back. Having waiting this long for something this like it better be just about everything you'd ever hope for.

The only deal breaker with me keeping my WSXGA+ is that if the difference in resolution is day and night. I'm hella comfortable with the WSXGA+ screen and I'm just not sure if the WUXGA gets wayyyy much smaller then that, or if it's just another 10% smaller.
